Hey! I am a new fan of "The Office." I happened to catch a rerun on t.v. a couple weeks ago and I was hooked. I have been catching up on all of the seasons, and I have noticed that Michael's attitude changed ALOT in season 4. Has anyone else noticed that? His character is a little "darker" and moody. Maybe it's because of Jan. lol

There's a bunch of factors that would contribute to it. Jan, for sure. It's a really dysfunctional relationship. He's broke. And now really aware of it. Ryan has moved to corporate, and is being difficult. Creed has made him aware that he's one of the old guys, as unwilling as he is to accept that. Then post Jan, he's single, which he hates. He can't find anyone, and he can't console himself by being one of many single guys in the office. So it makes a lot of sense that he'd be darker. Plus, you need something to counter-act the sweetness of Jim and Pam and then of course Andy and Angela. If everyone were happy, the show would be off balance. But, definately a good observation.
