David says it's a tough choice to choose who to vote for. Nah, it wasn't! XD Jessica got all ten of those. Hope she makes it. Everyone seems to have voted for Neil looking at these boards.

Neil is much more talented than any other person on the show. Emily was ok but she would not be good enough to make it through the tenth round of American Idol.

Queen Emily was the only worthwhile act tonight. The other nine acts should all be voted off. It's very obvious that the judges put some really weak acts into the top 40.
It's unfortunate that the show is likely to turn into another singing competition.
That's a good point. I mean, that's what American Idol is for so maybe they should take singing out of the next competition for this show. I've never watched the other seasons so I don't know- has anyone ever won who was not a singer?

Season 1 was won by Bianca Ryan an 11 year old singer. Last season was won by Terry Fador a ventriloquist.

Queen Emily won't win the whole thing, bank on it. I wasn't impressed by her in the earlier rounds, and if you want to get picky, she forgot the word "babe" at least twice in the song she chose tonight.
I don't recall the trio of kids being on TV at all. Where did they come from?
Someone said why doesn't Queen Emily go on American Idol, she is too old for it. Remember, she is in her 40's or close to it.

On the Wednesday night show, August 27th broadcast, it looked as if the opinion of the judges might have overridden the vote of the Americans who voted for the five acts to move on. The popular vote was never revealed and the three judges decided to send the little karate girl home. What I think we deserve to know is whether or not this was used to change the actual vote. If it was, I say SHAME ON YOU!

This made NBC look like they would and will change the outcome if they don't particularly like it. Please clear this up. I voted last week and this week and all of my last week's picks made it except for the little girl who got her heart broken. If it was equal, then OK, but if she won and the judges et al decided to pick the James Gang because they were grown and she was a child, then that really, really stinks. It looked fishy and the whole vote by judges sequence was embarrassing to NBC.

Please be honest in what you do and let us know what really happened. If she actually won, then I think it is only fair to now bring her back and make it 21 semi-finalists instead of 20. Don't cheat like the politicians. Call it a tie and let them both move on.

I totally agree. Sharon even made it sound like she was picking the james gang because they were older and had families that depended on them. I had tears in my eyes watching that littles girl's dream come crashing down, I know i voted 4 times for her. she was one of my absolute favorite acts and I was devastated to see her have to leave. I did find it rather heartwarming how the James Gang supported and comforted her instead of making a huge deal out of getting selected.

Daniel Jens did pretty good. He didn't wear a military outfit. Good. It kind of felt like he wore them to get the military vote.
It actually did the opposite, in my opinion. As a Marine Corps wife who's husband has done four deployments in Iraq in the last 5 years, the uniform was a total turn off. It felt like he was going for the sympathy vote.
His performance should stand on it's own.

I admired the thoughtfulness tonight of the James Gang when they won over Elite. They didn't jump up and down and scream and yell bc they had won. They were very caring towards her feelings and her sadness of not winning. Comforting her and making her feel good for the preformances she had given was more important to them than basking in their own glory. It showed tremendous couth. I hope they do well in the competition!
I agree! The James Gang showed such compassion - especially the one member who stayed with Elite until they went to commercial. It would be nice if Elite was noticed by Disney or some other show biz person - she is talented and did her best before millions to take the double whammy of bad news of being up for elimination plus hearing the judge's decision. It makes me wonder how the other young ones still in the competition will handle their voting results.

OK, first of all, does anybody beside from the judges think that the Gang was better than Elite? I surely don't think so. Mixing hip-hop with the 1920's music? Are you freaking listening to yourself? That was so, so, so, ridiculous that after the judges announced that they are voting them through, I almost turned it off. Seriously! And the rest of the show wasn't at all better. I don't know why does everyone think that today's acts were better than yesterday's? Is it only me who knows who is good and who isn't. Really, I thought I'd fall asleep while watching today's show. And it's 2 freaking hours? And why after each act do they have to go into commercial?
Now, about the ZOOperstars. Remember the "Yoyo Cow" from season 1 who didn't even get to go to Vegas because the judges thought it was too childish? Well, how come ZOOperstars aren't? At least that Yoyo Cow WAS funny. ZOOperstars are plain dumb. How did they even put them through to LA? I don't know. For once I agree with Pierce, no wait, twice. These Slippery Kittens also need to go where they came from. Along with the trombone guy.
P.S. I still think season 1 was the best on this show.

I couldn't agree with you more. I didn't watch season 1 or 2. How did they do then? Did "America" always choose the top four and the judges got to choose number five - - - or is this something new? I know NBC has the right to do whatever they want, but it does seem kind of fishy. The little girl was much better than The James Gang!! It shouldn't matter that they have families to support - as Piers has pointed out many times - they are not there to judge the best sob story - they are there to judge talent, and in this case they got it way wrong. Elite - the karate girl doesn't have what it takes to win the $1,000,000 - but she is certainly better than the James Gang.

Have to say I am new to this whole "posting" thing. I missed a good portion of tonight's show (Wednesday). From reading posts, I'm a bit confused. America did not choose the final 5 from last night? Sounds like the judges over-rode America's choices. Why? I, too, would like to know why Kaitlyn wasn't on. I wish NBC would answer these questions or at least a producer from the show. Seems like the two I voted for went thru---Neal and the girl from MI. Did the Brittney lip sync get the boot? What about the geek with the bad overbite? I hope he is gone too. Which group makes up the James Gang? The cowboys?
Tonight's show sucked. How did these people get put thru? Giant??? The sleazy ladies? David, the autistic boy, was better than both of them. Only 2 good from tonight were Queen Emily and Jens.
Does anyone know why we cannot view full episodes of this show after it has aired? I can watch Y&R (different network) and could watch past episodes of Dancing with the Stars. I would like to be able to view past episodes of this show too. Anyone at NBC or America's Got Talent, listening? Care to answer?

The James Gang are the 5 male singers who dress in the style of the twenties, (knickers and argyle socks) and then sing and dance.
As for how the voting went through, they and the 10 year old came in 5th and 6th in the voting, and all Jerry did was leave it to the Judges to announce which of the two made the cut. The decision was made through the same means as the others except Jerry didn't announce the winner.

Published: August 27, 2008
On Tonight's Live Show 5 Acts from Tuesday Night's Performance Move on to the Top 20 and the Next 10 Acts from the Top 40 Perform
BURBANK, Calif. – August 27, 2008 – During last night's episode of NBC's hit summer series, "America's Got Talent," it was announced that America chose singer Donald Braswell to round out the show's top 40. So, I was severely disappointed in the acts tonight. And the way that they have set it up it could possibly mean that some of the better acts won't make it through because they are performing with 9 other acts that were better than some of the ones that made it through on previous episodes. If they wanted to be fair it would be the best 20 out of the 40. Not the best 5 out of the 10 each episode. But enough with that...on to last nights episode.
It is really hard to pick the 5 that should go on because there are only 1 that should. And that was Queen Emily. She was by far the best of the night and out of the two nights so far, I would say she is 2nd or maybe third behind Neil and Jessica. It does suck that AGT has become more of a singing competition but it's not the singers faults...they are just way better than all of the other acts.
If I had to choice the 5 to go on I would probably pick: Beyond Belief Dance Company, Queen Emily, Paul Salos, Michael Jens, and The Wright Kids. But America doesn't vote the same as me usually so I dunno.
I would have loved to see Jonathon Arons do something...more. His routine was HILARIOUS during the auditions but this week it was just the same. Nothing exciting and a few of the dance moves he performed were done in his first audition. George The Giant, Kazual, ZOOperstars, and Slippery Kittens were all abysmal and I'll be really upset if any of them make it through.
So yeah, to make a long post short...I was disappointed with last nights episode and am seriously looking forward to next week. It seems like they put all of the best acts that aren't singers on the second week. The acts I'm most looking forward to would be: Eli Mattson, Nuttin' But Stringz, Jonathon Burkin(Baton Boy), and the Taubl Family. I love Kaitlyn but I'm not sure if she's ready for this competition and just being cute and learning the words to a song should not be enough to win, but America will let her go far just by her cuteness.

Here are my rankings from last night:
1. Paul Salos- I really love this guy. His charisma and his ability to portray a young Sinatra are off the charts. The only bad thing, is that I think he should have saved last nights song for a later round since I think it is Sinatra's best.
2. Queen Emily- Yes I know she is a good singer, however she is WAY too heavily pimped by the show. She is not the second coming of Aretha Franklin, despite the judges almost having a collective ****** over her performance. She is also not as good as Neal Boyd. She will probably make it to the top 3, primarily because the producers and judges want her there.
3. Jonathan Arons- He is entertaining and goofy, but I thought the saxophone player from last year who got cut prior to the top 20 was better. Should advance to the top 20.
4. Beyond Belief Dance Co- Good dance group. Nothing more, nothing less.
5. Kazual- I think these guys have alot of potential, especially if they take the judges advice and let the one guy be the lead singer.
6. The Wright Kids- They did a nice job, but I wasn't blown away. Playing Partridge Family tunes is kind of outdated for young kids.
7. Zoopsters- Would be great at a ballpark as mascots, mingling with the fans. Not really right for this show, although they were entertaining.
8. Daniel Jens- I really don't think he should have been in the top 40 after forgetting the lyrics during Vegas Week. OK singer, nothing special. Really glad that he didn't wear his Army uniform to perform.
9. The Giant- Total psycho.. At least he tried to put some humor into his act, although it was stupid.
10. The ****y kittens- Strip bar, yes.... 1 million dollar act, no... How did these ladies get through to the top 40 when the 2 street dancers from New Orleans missed the cut?
This was a very week round. Only Paul Salos and Queen Emily deserve to go to the top 10 out of this group. Most of the wildcard acts would have been better served to have competed than some of this group.

Tonights acts were definitely the bottom of the barrel. Even Queen Emily. She was off key a lot of the time. The only singer so far worth making it is Neil E. Boyd. The trombone player was so out of tune but the EW&F medley covered it up. EW&F has so many horns in their numbers it was giving the illusion that it was HIM playing, until of course you'd hear the trombone blare out of tune. When the guys singing the Jacksons were on , it was painful, and both my son and I liked them better when the third singer started singing, we were at least glad the judges caught that- Piers gave them excellent advice about making him their lead singer. The dancers? You can see that at any cheer/dance competition anywhere in the U.S.
The James Gang- what a class act for shielding and comforting that girl! I had tears in my eyes- they did not even acknowledge that they won, they just cared about protecting her- can't express how wonderful they were.
Derrick Barry- sad to see that guy go- he is the ultimate Vegas act, but since he already works in La Cage, he really shouldn't have been on AGT anyway.
The military guy- David Cook lite.
Bring on Eli Mattson so the competition can really start!

Hi, Everyone! This is my first season watching America's got talent and my first post.
I just wanted to say that I don't mind the singers because most of them wouldn't qualify for American Idol based on age restrictions or the type of music they sing. I think it is great that there is a show for them to showcase their talents.
I also thought that The James Gang was really sweet and classy with how they treated Elite. I thought it was really funny the way Jerry Springer kept saying 'alright, ok' to try to get her off the stage and The James Gang ignored him and kept comforting her and then the one guy kept running her around the stage on his shoulders!

I waited with baited breath to see Queen Emily on last night's show (Aug 27). OMG!! I was sooooooo disappointed. It was positively garish! What's up with that hair, that dress, that entrance? I'm sorry but it was over the top IMO. Did she come up with that or did some dumb fool talk her into it? I would prefer that her voice be the center of attention instead of all that hair and bright fabric. Put her in a gorgeous very simple sequened indigo blue with diamond drop earrings and a simple necklace and put a microphone in her hands. She could stroll out without the train and knock our socks off when she opens her mouth. I was totally blown off course with her look. It was awful!!!!

I waited and waited to see Queen Emily only to be blown off course by the 'staging' of her performance. What's up with that hair, those bright colors, and that entrance???? Did she choose all of that or did some fool talk her into it? I thought it was garish to the nines. She's classier than that. Get rid of all that hair, wear a gorgeous, simple dark indigo sequened dress with diamond drop earrings and a simple necklace and let your voice steal the show!!!!
And was something wrong with her microphone? Her song seemed to disappear in spots.
I was very disappointed. sigh.....

It's too bad that America doesn't know that they are awesome bluegrass performers because last night's performance was a huge risk for them, but if you don't know that they have awesome bluegrass harmonies and instumentation, you might wonder about thier performance last night. I hope they return to their bluegrass roots in the next round. They are wonderful.

I agree that the staging for Queen Emily was over-the-top, but based on the staging for the rest of the acts, they all seemed over-the-top to me. I think that was the show's doing rather than hers. I too would prefer classy rather than brassy for her, but they are trying to find a Vegas headliner, and Vegas itself is more brassy than classy. She proved she could put on a super Vegas show and would be well worth the $1 million. Despite the glitz, I loved her. Maybe they will tone it down a bit for the next round, because she will certainly make it (right to the $1 million, I hope). What I loved was that she left the tears backstage and came out to just shine and entertain us. From the minute she came on stage, she owned it big time!!

I keep seeing people posting that they had not seen the Wright Kids before. Well, they weren't on before. So we are looking at all these other acts with a couple more performances to balance out with and only one shot for those kids. So I got online. there a lot of videos clips of them performing at Cast TV .com and some on youtube. Check some of these out before you cast your vote. They also have a cd at CDbaby. You can see for yourself how good they are.

Neil E. Boyd and Queen Emily have set the bar!
I love Neil, but I did not like his 2nd choice of song- I wanted a great Italian Opera piece. Queen Emily, I loved her also, at first, until I found out she has been singing professionialy for the last several years.
That took all the "crying" she did away from me.
Honestly, I had to vote for Cadence- they remind me of "Blue Man Group"- if they could only develop something original, fresh and visually appealing to the audience, I would pay $100 or more to see them.
Waiting to see Eli again, too. What a singer.
I liked Paul Salos- maybe he won't get a gig in Vegas, but, I have to admit, the guy sounds just like Frank Sinatra.
A lot of you might disagree, but every time I have seen the "Zooperstars", they made me laugh. I was visually entertained, and I will give them votes. It's not just a "kids" act. I loved it.
It is what is most entertaining. Who can hold a Vegas act. Not what the judges or the audience whoops for. Now, finally, yay, we can vote America.
Is is just me, or since AGT came back on, that we see much more of the shows (the talent) than the audience, judges reactions, and Jerry?- ( I have to admit I like Jerry. )
The show seems better, cleaner. As for showing the talent, that is.
But, Hmm, bright lights, big city, production.. I'd rather see the talent with just a little help, rather than the smoke and mirrors, to make some seem that they are better than they are.
Please, NBC, keep it down a bit, let us see the contestants for their talent. Thank you. Do this, and I will be a regular viewer.

Honestly, I was just disappointed with Wendsday's show. Tuesday was way better. I only have one favorite from last night. Queen Emily. It was pretty good but I didn't like how she looked like she was like the ruler of the show.

Her singing helped me get through it though. My top 3 so far.
1st. Jessica Price
2nd. Queen Emily
3rd. Niel Boyd
