Full Version: NBC Direct - There's no PC registered
I jumped through all the hoops to setup an account and install NBC Direct player - but whenever I try to download a video I get : Sorry. There's no PC registered--please go to your NBC Direct Player to register a PC" um....there's nothing in any menu on the player to register a pc. ..... anyone know what this is about? Thanks.
Never mind - I just found out you have 48 hours to view downloaded video - I'm going to uninstall the program.

Dont nevermind ! You are not the only one with the problem and I dont care that the videos expire.
I Cant play videos because i get the same error message.

I'm going to try and find out the answer for you...might take a few days, but I'm checking into it.
Did the program download and successfully install the Open Case agent? That might be the problem.

First off, sorry about the trouble!! Good news, I have an answer for you...
When you first install NBC Direct, it attempts to connect to the internet in order to register your PC. This is why you don't see a place to physically register your own computer...it's a background operation.
If you're getting that PC registration error, it's because when NBC Direct tried to connect to the web, something interfered. This could be one of two things:
1. A firewall is blocking its access
2. Your internet connect was temporarily unavailable
Typically, this should fix once it establishes a connection to the internet; however, if it doesn't try uninstalling both NBC Direct and the OpenCASE Media Agent and reinstalling the program. Make sure you're firewall will let you get through and/or you're online.
If you're uninstalling NBC Direct, be sure to use this Microsoft Clean Up Tool to make sure you get all the pieces and parts or you won't be able to reinstall it.

It does not work either.
I have uninstalled it using the Microsoft Clean Up Tool, installed it, and set the program to be exception at Windows Firewall. Still, there is no PC registered.
I have no idea what's wrong with it.
At the left bottom corner, there is a yellow dot with 'No connection' details at the side of it.

Hmmm...sorry that didn't work. Let me forward your comments to the tech team and see what I hear back.
