Sami's only willing to give you a chance (no promises, no declarations of love...for YOU that is) because Lucas, the man she DOES LOVE doesn't want to be with her anymore.

EJ has none and in that reguard he and Sami are quite perfect for eachother since she has none either,EJ seemed to get some when he told off his father ages ago,but now its gone again.

EJ's happy to have Lucas' left overs. At least EJ doesn't have to fight for Sami anymore cause Lucas doesn't want another helping.

Her stating she cant make any promises....is reality! Is he a loser because he possibly will not choose the easy Nicole in the elevator? What guy wants the town tramp forever? He made no promise to her...she just happened to be at the right place, at the right timer. This heart broken guy paid some attention to her - BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WAS STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR WITH HIM!!! No female in her right mind, with any regards to her self worth would sleep with someone who she KNOWS loves someone else...and even calls her by that name!

EJ is being pathetic because after over TWO YEARS he's still Sami's second choice.

Why is it necessary to call Nicole names? What she's doing is certainly no less pathetic than what EJ is doing. In fact, Nicole at least seems to be aware of the seeming hopelessness of loving EJ, while EJ never seems to realize that he's never going to be anything but second best with Sami. (And I say that as a person who has no desire to see Lumi together).

so many of these haters now of ej thought him taking the easy skinky in the elevator to forget what sami had just done made him manly...no that was the weakened ej..the ej who has honestly asked and accepted an honest answer is the man with self respect again..

as for nicole, her pride is now being mopped up off the floor, and she could have gotten it back again by making ej face up to what he really wanted in that elevator instead of opening up her legs as a way to buy his love..it didnt work, and he is back where he belongs..

So...Nicole is pathetic for being second choice for EJ???? Same situation, this would make both EJ and Nicole pathetic...not good traits for pairing! One of the partners has to be worthy, and with your definition of pathetic related to EJ....it defines Nicole pathetic as well.

....Lucas took off because EJ is Sami's first choice. He saw it, sucked it up for as long as he could, finally had his fill, and bowed out. That actually gave me a little new respect for Lucas.

What Sami says and what Sami does/feels are 2 different things. Sami Brady 101. It's been that way since 1993.

Sami says a lot of things. "I'll never sleep with you again" comes to mind. "EJ, you are irrelevant." "Lucas is the love of my life." "EJ means nothing to me." Her actions speak louder than her words most of the time. But I think what she said to EJ in the stairwell was honest. Remember what Colleen (as Sami's subconscious) said to her when she was marrying EJ--Sami doesn't do anything she doesn't want to do. What Sami sees in EJ is (paraphrasing here) "danger, desire like nothing she's ever known, and the freedom to be who she really is." That's scary for Sami, because who she really is is the anti-Brady.

Nicole hasn't been waiting TWO YEARS for EJ to get over Sami.
Now THAT would be pathetic...and oh yeah...EJ!

Frankly I don't care what the haters think of EJ and those scenes. That EJ is showing just how much Sami means to him. He wasn't screaming at her, yelling at her, berating her for not being sure. THAT is the man she should be with! THAT is the man that will only love her the way she needs to be loved, and I fully believe she will realize that soon!

EJ is not pathetic. He is in love. And deep in his heart he knows Sami loves him, too. Why would anyone give up on a chance at love?

Of course Sami still loves Lucas. Does Marlena still love Roman? She sure does. Just because you have a deep connection and love with someone, (Sami/Lucas and Marlena/Roman) doesn't mean that are the person truly in heart.

Lucas saw this. He knew that Sami was in love with EJ. He even said it, "I'm not the man she's in love with anymore." Sami is not known for being the most self aware person so when she says that she doesn't love EJ and Lucas says she does.. I believe Lucas. I also think that EJ knows this as well which is why he's holding on to this hope she's putting out. How does that make him pathetic? That he is not going to settle for someone who will sleep with him at the drop of the hat or the woman he really loves and really wants to be with.

So many people keep telling me that EJ is Sami's first choice, but that's just not what's playing out on my screen. Ali's not selling me on it, and Sami's not coming across to me as someone who loves EJ more than she loves Lucas. And I have no doubt that if Lucas decided he was ready to give their marriage another try, Sami would grab that chance and leave EJ behind in a heartbeat.

Sami has spent the last decade and a half trying to be with a man, whether it's Austin, Brandon or Lucas. Now she can't be with those three, so she's lining up EJ as her back up. That's not fair to him.

I think she needs to cut romantic ties with both of them and find her life outside a man. Then, maybe, she'll be ready for a relationship.

EJ wouldn't be such a LOSER if Sami had at least said that she loved him too.
Instead, Sami tells him she loves Lucas and because he won't give her a chance she's might give EJ a chance. No promises or anything, no declarations of love or anything.

I wonder what would happen to EJ if Lucas changed his mind?

I think it would have been less believable if Sami didn't mention Lucas so that part of it didn't bother me...yes, she cares about Lucas because of their history but he's not the man in her heart anymore...EJ is As Sami said, anything is possible so now that all the cards are on the table I see this a great beginning for EJami!!!

Wonder no more. Sami takes up with Lucas again. Pines after EJ. Lucas becomes irate and leaves. Sami returns to EJ. And repeat. Hopefully, Lucas remains the smart one out of the Lumi pairing and stays away.

excellent post. I agree with you 100% Lucas has known for a while that Sami has feelings for EJ and he chose to ignore it. He now sees that their relationship was toxic and he is tired of living that life. He is bowing out and I have to respect him for doing that. He is moving on with Chloe. As for EJ, he is finally on the verge of getting what his heart desires, Sami. That does not make him pathetic, it makes him a man in love. They were finally honest in that stairwell and it was refreshing. Nicole would always be second choice. What woman wants that. To know that your man loves another woman and is only settling for you because he can't have her. I know I wouldn't.

We tried to tell you that EJ loves Sami and only Sami. We also told you that the minute Sami flashes green light, it´s bye-bye Nicole. EJ and Nicole were merely a bump in the EJami road.

That entire episode just proved how much EJ and Sami love each other. The way that Sami answered EJ's questions was done right. Sami told him that she can't keep on with lieing to herself about how she feels for EJ. She told him that when Lucas came back she tried to push back the feelings she had for EJ. She was honest with what she was feeling, and Marlena was confused with how she felt about Roman and John at first. It is so obviouse that Sami's feelings for EJ are stronger than what she feels for Lucas. Everyone can see it but Sami, and I feel that they are starting to have Smai realize it.

I am going out on limb here and guess your a fan of Nicole...?? So you would rather see your choice of character know EJ does not love her, and still have her have sex with him, to be his second choice? What draws you to a character who thinks it is okay to have sex with someone who does not love them? I agree Sami needs to choose...but she is the one he loves, was his wife, and the mother of his child! This puts her in his life in a completely different class than Nicole, who by the way is MARRIED to someone else!!

If anything I'm a James Scott fan that thinks his character deserves better than to be Sami's second choice lapping up Lucas' leftovers for more than two years!

What can I say, it bothers me that LUCAS has more self-respect than EJ!

Its funny how the writers avoid using the word LOVE when EJami is concerned.

Of course, EJ has had to hear it repeatedly from the horse's mouth that SAMI LOVES LUCAS. Apparently that doesn't bother EJ, he's happy to accept whatever meager crumbs Sami will scatter...you know, crumbs that Lucas doesn't want.

If I remember correctly, Lucas told Chloe "I'm not the guy that Sami loves" and that he thinks Sami wishes he never came back from prison.

I think if we're really concerned about EJ settling for being Sami's second choice, we should be equally concerned for Sami because she is Lucas' second choice. If Carrie came back to Salem without Austin, I think we all know that Lucas wouldn't give Sami the time of day if it meant getting Carrie back.

EJ is not Sami's second choice, she hasn't made a choice yet. She's still sorting out her feelings. She feels love and loyalty (however misguided) toward Lucas because of their circumstances, but she also feels love (even if she hasn't identified it as such yet), passion, happiness, ease and contentment with EJ.

Sami is a smart girl, she'll make the right choice. It just won't happen over night because where is the "soapiness" in that?

Too bad EJ doesn't have half the self respect Lucas has for himself.
