SEASON PREMIERE--Academy Award nominee Michael Clarke Duncan (“The Green Mile”) guest-stars as Colt, a menacing operative. Chuck (Zachary Levi) prevents Colt from obtaining the Cipher -- a device that would ultimately lead to a new Intersect. Chuck is told that this successful mission marks the end of his espionage career and the beginning of a normal life. Free from bullets and bombs, Chuck finally asks Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) out on a real first date. But Chuck’s role as the old Intersect is not good news for everyone as Casey (Adam Baldwin) deals with a difficult order assigned to him. Meanwhile at Buy More, Morgan (Joshua Gomez) devises an eccentric way to hire a new assistant manager. Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Jeff Krinsky, Vik Sahay, Julia Ling and Mark Christopher Lawrence also star.

If this is supposed to be a romantic date it looks like things are going well. Sarah seems very intent on what ever Chuck is saying and Chuck looks relaxed and like he is having a good time. The creators of Chuck said that they were going to "own" the Chuck/Sarah romance from the start of the season and if the pictures are any indication it looks like they are going to go for it.

Ah, the power of suggestion. I wonder what's really going through Zac and Yvonne's minds when they're filming these 'intimate' scenes...because going by the dvd, these two are really a couple of goofballs.

I get the feeling the cast likes to keep things light hearted. It sure looks to me TPTB are going to tease us with a possible "real relationship" kiss. It would be nice ;if only we can just keep those bad guys from ruining it all the time.

This date episode is nice, but what Im really looking forward to is when Chuck goes to Sarahs reunion. He can find out lots about her there. Like her name, was she a nerd, cheerleader, fatty, etc

I think Zach's thought bubble would be more like "Yeah, I get to kiss Yvonne again! Slowly, slowly for drama and yes!" or as it seems in the photos "Yay, here we go again! Lean in, lean in and...crap MCD showed up!"

Zach's thought bubble is probably more like, "I'm the luckiest man alive!!"...followed quickly by, "Can we do that again?!".

^ lol ye probably mucks scene up right at the end, can imagine him saying "oh no we'll have to do it again"

Only what? 33 days till this airs? And we have survived how many months? This is awesome.

I really think they need to make this episode really great, to stick the new viewers, and I'm sure they will.

does 4 weeks monday make it sounds shorter? well chuck has long finished over here, well not as long as you've been waiting but I can't wait for new season to start

I was just looking at those pictures again, and the car that casey driving...that isn't amother crown vic by chance is it ?

ye I think it is on the video shown at comic con got a better view of it and does look like one, im guessing they get paid enough that casey could buy another one (sarah also has very expensive car).
If it is infact a crown vic this could mean team chuck have got alot closer? casey is willing to destroy the "car of his dreams" to save chuck and sarah.

It can possibly be provided by their respective organizations as part of their cover. Or perhaps he was reinbursed considering he lost his car for the sake of the mission.

Though I dont think he did it for chuck. Remember, they were ALL about to die.... Die, or lose my car. Die, or lose my car... hmm...

Remember, Casey is all about the mission. He would destroy any car to save Chuck's, who is the mission, life.

true I keep forgetting keeping chuck(well the intersect) safe is the main mission.

how do you think ep will satrt will it be, "last season on chuck" or go straight into season 2?

I think they'll do a last season on Chuck, to catch new people up, and summerize it all. I would really like that, I would love to see what scenes they would choose.

well i am hoping that they will not do what they did in season 1 to help people catch up. it kinda getting boring but i know what ever they do it's going to be awesome

They are going to start right away with Michael Clark Duncan holding Chuck upside down out of a window, Chuck will explain who he is and what the intersect is, thus giving new viewers all the background info they need, and then the rest of the story will be told in flashbacks (I think.)

At least, that is what I got from the official NBC preview thingy with Zach...

I'm totally ready for another season of Chuck!

So I just came back from the Paley Premier Event in L.A.

Let me just say that this season is going to own last season! This episode was so good, it had everything we've been waiting for and it kicks off the season nicely.

The Chinese restaurant scene was really cute too

me too. i cant wait to see the first date. actually i cant get enough of chuck. i'm looking forward to seeing high school reunion and the return of jill.

The episode was such a phenomenal way to kick off the season. Everything we hoped for and more was in the episode, and I CAN'T wait to dig deeper into the relationship between Chuck and Sarah and the mythology of the character.

Personally, I'm tired of all the kissing...I mean, enough saliva has been exchanged already. If fans still want romance, then just have Chuck and Sarah hug or say the "I love you" phrase, or exchange gifts, but please no more time wasted with sappy kissing/sex scenes...

I personally prefer to see more action. I do enjoy the fight scenes with Sarah in them as Ms Strzechowski's kung fu is not bad...but I'd like to see Chuck use more of his technical skills to resolve dangerous situations too....

I think the balance of action and romance is perfect where it's at. There needs to be a story in here too. If it's too heavy on action you won't be able to get that story across in 43 or 44 minutes.

I don't mind the kissing scenes; a little physical affection never hurt anyone. I think as far as saying "I love you" and stuff, their emotional relationship is so frustrating (in a good way! and it's suppose to) because they CAN'T say how they feel. They are restricted to CIA/NSA rules. So the physicality of it is their way of being expressive.
