Phillip Parham (Real estate agent), 41, and his wife, Amy Parham (Real estate agent), 40, Greer, South Carolina.

Phillip is a strong competitor under that easygoing exterior. Raised as the oldest and only boy of three children, he began to be concerned about his body image at a young age. Even though he was a normal weight during high school, college and his young adult years, when he served in the U.S. Air Force he still saw himself as heavy and soon after began to gain weight. When he married his college sweetheart, Amy, 20 years ago, he weighed 185 pounds. Desperate to be a better husband and a healthier father for his sons, Phillip has vowed to get trim and healthy!

Amy is very competitive and knows how to set a goal and reach it. She and Phillip were the top agents at their realty company last year. Her youngest son was diagnosed with autism five years ago. This proved to be a challenge so overwhelming that Amy turned to food for comfort and in the process gained 80 pounds. Amy feels like now is the time to focus on getting her body fit and healthy so she can be a good role model and parent for her sons.

Charismatic and fun, Phillip and Amy are a married couple determined to win people over with their positive attitudes and competitive spirits. No strangers to a challenge, these two know how to work together and make it through any obstacle. College sweethearts, co-workers, parents and married for nearly 20 years, this couple is ready to add new chapters to their lives as they lose weight and get in shape together! Look out for these two because together they make a powerful team!

All the married couples will be trained by Bob. And just as a friendly reminder, here's a portion of the FAQ and Forum Rules:

After watching the one hour preview, I'm totally rooting for this team! I think they can go far and they just seem very genuine and appreciative of the opportunity they've been given.

Go red!

Question - In tonight's episode, near the beginning ... I believe it was Brady that said they were gunning for Phil to leave because he was irritating them lately or something? ( Not the exact words but basically what was said .. )

Did I miss something in the past 2 episodes that happened with Phil? Or did they leave something out? I know there was that little debate back and forth about sending the gray team home or not etc etc ... and a few of them got into it but other than that ... does anyone know if something else happened that I'm not aware of?

In one of the bonus videos from last week, Brady made it sound like he basically thought Phil talked too much and he (Brady) was tired of it and it just sort of boiled over at that point of the elimination discussion. If any specific incidents happened, they weren't mentioned as far as I could tell.

Did anyone watch the bonus footage from this week? Check out this video. Phil and Amy's Strategy.

It seems as though their home visit happened AFTER the teams were decided even though they showed it on the last episode. I just thought that was interesting. Did I see that wrong? When Phil said that they never get to talk like this on the ranch anymore, it made me think they were at home when they were talking. Besides, I think that was the shirt that Amy wore home. Let me know!

Yes, from that conversation, the teams split before they went home.....interesting.

I hated to see Phillip and Amy split up last night. But after I watched for a little bit I realized that they may be able to deal with it. I do think that if the blue team losses less weight next time that Amy P has no chance. And you know only one person can win the big cash prize. Amy probably knew if she or Phil stayed with Vicky, Brady and Heba that one of them would be voted off. So why not put Phil who has the chance to be the biggest loser on another team where it is less likely he get voted off because he pulls good numbers. Hmmm

By the way it doesn't matter when the teams were split. The editors are in control now and they are putting the shots in that will make the story.

I think it's important not to loose sight of the fact that this IS a TV show and it's edited in a way to provide max. entertainment. I'm betting that conversations are frequently taken out of context to create dramatic twists and certain dymanics. Phil showed a very unflattering side of his personality sneaking candy in the dark, refusing to answer when spoken to and his wife's consant whinning to Bob turns my stomach! What was accomplished by Phil taking an attitude with Heba's approach to this challenge? She gave him plenty of opportunity to voice an opinion or offer an idea. Now there is real animosity and he can only blamce himself. If it's all meant to portray Phil and Amy P. in a bad light it's sure working for me! Personally I hope they both go soon.

Good question.

I think in the midst of all the hate, some of us have failed to recognize that Amy did come through TBL experience much better off. Her update video showed her looking amazing and she seemed quite happy. My guess is, as much as she wanted to stay on TBL, getting home to her life and her kids suited her well. She knew she was a target and I think she made peace with the fact that she was going home as a result of the alliance. I always liked her and was awed by what a wonderful job she has done at home.

Not to mention, one of my favorite moments of the season was Bob mocking her screaming "No!" and then tapping the guy in the self defense class!
kpw1956
Others who've got sent home unfairly have done well and have all been gracious and benefitted from their time there.

Amy is no exception. But I do think it had to be hard on her boys to have both parents gone for so long so it was probably good that a sense of normalcy might come back to their household. I had wondered where their middle child was during the video conference. He seemed to be the one more clingy and having a harder time of it. Maybe Amy was glad in a way to go home for those reasons..but doesn't make it any easier to go under those circumstances where possible underhanded tactics were used.

She left with her dignity intact.. I really like this couple.
petersons14
I totally agree. I just think that we are overlooking the fantastic job Amy has done by being upset about the tactics used by the blue team. She was a great competitor on the show and I'm really happy to see that she was able to keep up what she learned at home.

I don't think anyone has tried or meant to discredit her... it's just that everyone has been in such an uproar regarding some of the outrageous things we heard and saw last night.

She was looking great and doing well while in the game and looks like she has continued to do well. But her update wasn't quite as dramatic as some of the others we've seen.. But then there may be less of a time frame they are working with than a few weeks ago.

She's a lovely lady.. and she and her husband seem to have a great relationship.

Yay Phil and Amy! These two are just great. I hope Phil sticks around long enough to at least watch Vicki, Brady, and Heba pack up; he deserves a little just desserts...

Unfortunately, that could very well happen inadverdantly if black loses the weigh in.

Renee and Michelle will probably vote the same..and even if Colleen and Phil collaborate and try to vote Renee or Michelle out.. then it will pull a tie and the blue team will decide. If Phil does not have immunity, he will be evicted by Blue... I'm hoping he at least gets immunity/loser of the week.

Or then again maybe someone will win an extra vote!

And Phil hasn't been pulling big numbers either. The Pink team has been, though.

phil isn't my favorite person either, but I don't fault him in the temptation at all. Heba wanted to have control and said it was open for discussion but the few that did say something, mostly the purple team she seemed upset at as well. they wanted a guy on their team, but I felt like for some reason who they wanted for teams had to be approved by Heba. They didn't like that so they too started eating. And what happened Heba split them up. By the way, it was in the dark for a reason. So that people could be sneaky if they wanted. That doesn't make phil & Amy C bad, it just means they chose to participate in the temptation. So what, heba didn't have to get mad, its a game. Its like kindergarden and apparently they were supposed to ask the bully for permission to play in the sandbox.
But like I said, I don't think phil is perfect and clearly needs to not talk so much. Several people on this show needed to be reminded that if you don't want people to know the mean things you've said, then JUST DON'T SAY THEM. think before you speak!
Boo1667
I think Amy is flat out lying about her size 8, there is no way, unless she's shopping at some serious vanity sizing stores. I found her transformation to be blah compared to everyone else, and I really have no sympathy for her or her husband. Austistic child don't deal well with change, and both his parents packed for some reality show. Lame. And it really annoyed me how they pimped their kid out for sympathy camera time, when they made the choice to leave him, knowing full well how hard that would have been on him. I don't see them as some porrly treated positive light, I thought they tried to play the game, and be sneaky, and they got caught and sent packing by the people they tried to outplay. I'm not sad to see Amy go, and I'm not at all touched by having to part with her husband when at least one of them should have been home with their kids in the first place.

I have a question about those transformation videos.....how much time has elapsed when they make those videos? There have been episodes where they show those videos and then the person is brought back. Does anyone else find this time distortion confusing?
MissMew
I agree with what you are saying MaggiePieThis is JMHO but I feel the whole issue of hard feelings between Phil and Heba began during that Temptation Challenge because Heba decided to Take Charge..... why was it her place to do that? she had no right to declare that anything was 'open for discussion' and I think Phil just decided to get into the challenge to try to compete with her. Nothing wrong with that.
Heba has become a Tyrant, and not only that? one with a REALLY crappy attitude. When one adult makes it their decision to ' punish people' for what they perceive to have happened based on their Assumptions/ people get hurt, and sadly this is what this woman is doing.
I feel she is so self-absorbed she can't even see that Brady and Vicki are looking out for themselves and soon enough Heba will be voted off by them as well.

So...

Heba suggesting a plausible plan (she eats, keeps teams the same) and stating openly (when asked) that she was in fact eating a donut, was wrong.

--and--

Phil surreptitiously eating and not answering (when asked if he was) in an attempt to gain control without the others knowing, was right.

I really don't understand this interpretation of the events, even a little.

Just sayin'...

Bob had some nice things to say about Amy, despite her 2 lb weight loss. He said she was running every day, yada, yada, yada, and "...always optimistic, every day. That's who you are."

Very positive thing to say about her character.
steph1227
I don't post very often, but I do feel like I need to post on behalf of these parents. At first, it really bothered me how they were constantly referring to Phil and Amy as the parents of an autistic child...ignoring their two other children...etc., but I have to tell you no matter how high-functioning the child is, it is a very difficult road. My son is also very high-functioning autistic. He is 13 but sometimes emotionally and socially, it feels like I'm parenting a 2-year old. Please don't criticize these parents unless you have walked in their shoes. It is stressful, every day, being the parent of an autistic child--even a very high-functioning one. I struggle often with making sure my daughters get enough attention because parenting their brother is so demanding. I know that Amy and Phil face these struggles as well as struggling with their weight issues.

The best laid plans of mice and men.....everyone is a schemer to an extent. I can still hear Phils last words..."You got to stop stressing about it....it will all be okay." Tell that to Amy now....bhawahahahaha.

He was right... Really. In the grand scheme of things...

She seemed fine when she left.. Left with no tears.. She knew her fate was sealed.

You got to remember that clip was done prior to the week 5 elimination when Shellay went home. She knew she would be targeted when eventually blue would lose a weigh in.

It was better that they send him home than Blue being bought in to choose..
That would have been the ultimate humiliation for him.. But in the end... he's still got his dignity and he is probably happier being with his wife and kids than being in the shark tank with 3 sharks circling.

He was in a funk... and he had probably had it with the personal attacks.

He's going to be fine. They are a very nice family...

Now Brady can be the rooster in the hen house. What an analogy and an *****.
I hope Brady is embarrassed by his egomania...

I was disappointed that Phil didn't call out Brady for exaggerating the conversation about Heba. But, I suppose considering the way he was confronted & the fact that Heba wasn't allowing much opportunity to comment, he probably did the best thing in not saying a lot.

I can't believe he only lost THREE pounds. Considering his emotional state & his lack of weight loss, it was a best bet to vote him off.

I enjoyed watching Phil & Amy renew their vows. So sweet!
me_matthew
I wouldn't criticize Phil's three pounds ... keep in mind that the week before the whole black team had an amazing week, and this week they all had a low week. It wasn't because they slacked off ... it's because they sweat off so much water weight the previous week to try and win the weigh in that it screwed 'em up this week, hence all the two's and three's. He still had a double digit total for the two weeks combined, which in any world - Biggest Loser or otherwise - is a stellar amount.
lawmom1
I didn't get to see the show last night but I just watch the clip of Phil "after " and he looks awesome! Good job Phil !! - Amy also looks like she has lost more weight. It is great that even their son is getting in on the healthier eating.

Sad though it sounds, the episode two weeks from now will be one of the few things that will get me through the next two weeks (Honestly, instead of the election coverage, I'd rather just watch Jillian and Bob read "A Tale Of Two Cities" aloud).

There needs to be closure in all of this, simply put.

I found the renewal of vows to be just joyful. No matter what kind of crazy crap took place on the Biggest Loser campus, Phil and Amy came through it just fine. It does the heart good.

Phil and Amy's renewal of their vows was awesome - very heart-warming and touching. I think they'll do better at home, together, than at the ranch with all the backstabbing and nastiness. I don't know how anyone can function in that kind of atmosphere. I thought that Phil left with dignity - and honor.
jenatgym
the girls were sure shocked when phil announced that he was sabotaged by B,V and H.

I thought their vow renewal was wonderful and they seem like incredible parents.

As for the poster insulting them for leaving their autistic son behind, they were with her parents who clearly are capable of looking after all three boys. THere is alot of love in that family, it's very apparent.
