Shellay Cremen (Stay-at-home Mom), 51, Royal Oak, Michigan and her daughter Amy Cremen (Purchasing department representative), 26, Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Shellay is a loving wife, mother and a great friend. She is always the person you can call on if you need anything. She has been a stay-at-home mom most of her married life and would like to look for a job, but she has lost confidence in herself because of her weight. She wakes up in the morning, thinking she will surf the web for a job, but ends up surfing the fridge for food instead. Exercise has never been a part of her life, but as she gets older she worries more about future health problems. She wants to be healthy and motivated, and she wants to prove she can do it!

Amy has her mom’s sense of humor. She is a very talented girl, with an amazing voice. She works full time in the purchasing department of an automotive company, she takes college classes online for her bachelor's degree, and goes to cosmetology school in the evenings. She has a hard time standing for so long during school because of her weight. “Sometimes, I just wish I could take my feet off, they hurt so badly,” says Amy. Most of her meals are eaten from a fast food drive thru. She has battled her weight since middle school, and has never been able to get a grip on it. Amy feels people do not look past her weight and although she may be smiling on the outside, inside she is devastated with her appearance.

Shellay and Amy are a mother/daughter team who love each other, believe in each other, support each other and encourage each other. These two are ready to be transformed, no matter what the cost! Shelley was always the “cool” mom when Amy was growing up, while Amy was the funny daughter. These two are so expressive and honest, and have a great sense of humor. Every mother and daughter can relate to their love, bickering, support and banter.

All the parent/child teams will be trained by Jillian. And just as a friendly reminder, here's a portion of the FAQ and Forum Rules:

I was so proud of Amy last night, winning the cooking challenge!! I think its essential to teach the contestants how to cook when you are trying to live a healthy lifestyle. She seemed so intimidated by it at first but I really think it boosted her " kitchen " confidence. Congratulations!! Let me just say that this team is very amusing. I love their humor!

I'm with you. As my posts in the episode topics can attest, I'm just a little sweet on Amy. She and her mom are just the cutest, and I was happy to see that Amy enjoyed some great success!

Purple team doesn't really get talked about too much so I wanted to bump this up to see if anyone had anything to say about them. I, personally, find this mother-daughter team to be hysterical! I love their sense of humor and their bond. I was laughing so hard last night when they were doing the challenge and Amy thought her mother was pulling the rope ... just the reactions of the two in the side interview was funny. it's nice to see a team like this to sorta tone down all the drama that goes on between the other teams a lot of the times. smile.gif

This team is on the top of my list of great teams. I agree they are totally hilarious and have a great relationship. I hope that they share their relationship secrets with Renee and Michelle (Pink Team).
kpw1956
I really am enjoying them! What a likable pair of ladies.. I had to laugh at Shellay last night.. dumping the whole line in the water.. I would have felt so stupid and embarrassed by the whole thing.. But she and Amy had a great attitude about it and made it into this funny monologue.. (Amy talking about them yelling back and forth).. Obviously they have a great relationship.. It's neat that Amy thinks her mother is 'cool'..
Smilette30
Sadly, I probably woulda done the same thing as Shelley with throwing the rope in. HA HA. When she did it ... I thought " Good idea! " but then I quickly thought to myself ... wait a minute, that wasn't such a good idea ....

I was curious though ... was only one person allowed to pull the ropes back in at a time, per team?? When it came down to red and orange I was surprised that people weren't helping pulling Orange in. I might have missed that part of the rules though ... anyone clarify??

You could hear Alison telling people to put their ropes down when their team mate was eliminated. Once their kayaker was out they could not help any more.

I had to laugh at that situation because that could so be me and my mom. rolling.gif

I would have been Amy in the boat yelling at my mom to stop holding the freaking rope and my mom would be yelling at me that she was not holding the rope.

Smilette30
Oh boy last night ... I was trying my hardest not to laugh at the part where Jillian kicked Amy out of the gym ... and Amy's reaction to it. Part of me was thinking " oh no Amy don't do that ... just show some respect to your trainer " but then the other part of me was going " You go girl!! " I'd have done the same thing probably hahaha. The whole blowing a kiss thing at her was just comical to me ... I think we all handle stress in different ways but I guess I just laughed at it because, from what we've seen, that is just Amy's personality ... laughing etc etc.
BigG2008
I think its time for them both to go....mom really isnt in this, i think its more of a show for her...amy.well I dont think she has what it takes either...I have a feeling its just a show for them both, and maybe money...I dont like either of there tudes and I am done...sorry there just people, but I dont like them

I must say that was funny.........I dont where she got the idea that just throwing the whole thing in was gonna be easier....all it did was weight down the rop first off and it got tangled....In a way I guess it was easier, she didnt have to work as hard to feed it to her kid eh...

I was hoping that Amy would have just cranked that machine up faster and kept moving. This kind of reminds me of the other Amy from last year and Kim. Maybe Amy and Shellay would do better with Bob. I just thought that the kiss-blowing, the wave, and then leaving just didn't look so good. I really want Amy to do well - she is so young and has so much good life ahead of her!

I don't think they would do any better with Bob honestly. He may not have the outbursts that Jillian does, but he is every bit as hard as she is.

Amy pulled the cliche Teen/Twenty-something blow off last night and I really hope her butt gets bounced off the show this week. She didn't like what she was hearing and acted like a brat. Blowing the kiss was even worse. The gesture carried the same meaning as if she had flipped off Jillian.

Shellay, well perhaps after Jillian's heart to heart she will cut the excuses. That woman's mind is the only thing holding her back, Jillian was absolutely right there. Shellay was all about telling herself "I can't" and is defeating herself before she even starts.

At least "editing" won't be to blame for Amy's behavior - we saw what we saw and it wasn't pretty! I agree about the teen/twenty-something blow-off - my niece is very good at that mad.gif I guess we'll have to see tonight if she actually stayed away from the gym or if she went back after she and Jillian had some time to cool off. It would be a shame to just throw this opportunity away.
chazee
Bad, bad, bad move Amy! It had to be terribly difficult to be a contestant on the program, so why in the world would you challenge your trainer's instructions? Your there to learn, yet you deify your instructor....well at least it took the spot light off the Brown team.......for that moment

Teen thing...yes. Twenty something thing....no way! As a 23 year old, I'd like to think that most people in my age group would have learned some respect by now (not to mention maturity!). I found it incredibly immature of Amy to do that. I do agree that it carried the same meaning as flipping the bird. Jillian is doing her best to help Amy and Amy is treating the opportunity as if she were there on vacation (well, at least some of the time). While I do commend Amy for sticking to it in the challenge, I have pretty irritating at times with her attitude towards the show. I found it pretty annoying that she packed so much crap going to the Grand Canyon. She's on the show to save her life and she's thinking about this frivolous crap, as if blow drying her hair is somehow going to help her. This week, I was really starting to like her because of the challenge and the 24 hours with Jillian (although the two of them thinking it would be a girl's day out was silly, IMO). It didn't even annoy me that she was laughing in the background while Jillian was talking to Shellay because some people just laugh at those inappropriate times. Not everyone can control that. Her blowing the kiss, was what I found to be extremely annoying. To me, it looked like she outright disrespected Jillian. It is sad to see because Amy generally has a great personality, she just needs to grow the f*** up, act like an adult and take responsibility for her life.
ok, I'll stop my ranting now lol!
SeekingSasquatch
Rant away, I feel the same way! These two have been on my nerves since about Week 2, and last night really put me over the edge, with both of them. It's so upsetting that there were hundreds of other people who would have just about died to be in their shoes, and neither of them are taking it seriously or giving it much effort. What did they expect out of the whole thing, a spa vacation? They need to go.

I was very happy that Amy went back to the gym. That was a very good decision on her part, and I was also glad to see that she had a pretty good week loss-wise. Hopefully her attitude will improve each week that she loses and can see the results.

I want to say it was either three or five pounds which I don't think is too bad. I'm lucky if I can pull a 2 some weeks myself!
vbarkley
Amy lost 5 and Shellay lost 4. Actually, they've been pretty consistent since the start:

Amy's loss by week:
Week 1 - 17lbs
Week 2 - 3
Week 3 - 6
Week 4 - 5

Shellay's loss by week:
Week 1 - 12
Week 2 - 3
Week 3 - 3
Week 4 - 4

Good Lord!!!! Those girls are really putting their heart into it, aren't they?
chazee
Due to waterloading, I never include the first weigh in
vbarkley
Well, other than that first week, they don't have any big fluctuations, unlike some teams from previous seasons.
chazee
yep, I agree....I just wished they would come up with a strategy to keep them from water loading at all

They're just trying to get an edge up on the competition.
vbarkley
Yeah, but if they all do it, it kind of defeats the purpose. The first week should be titled, "The Biggest Waterloader."

I'll add my comments about Shellay! Great job! Loved her attitude at the deliberations last night and the outcome when she was sent home.

On another note, I think I will really look forward to a makeover for Amy (if she makes it that far). I think her makeup could be less heavy to enhance her eyes.. She is a pretty girl. Sometimes less is more!

I was thinking the PINK team could use a lot less make up as well...sometimes i think Im watching the circus insted of the show...I think amy will do beter with out her mom there...I think she was feeding on her mom tude, so maybe with her mom gone shell start to work harder and dobeter in the game...just my thoughts...

Amy seems to really thrive on Bob's training style over Jillian's. Maybe that will make the difference for her.

I agree with this. She seemed so much more at home on Bob's team. I think the change will really help her.

I couldn't get over Shellay though. She looks so good now. I loved how she was talking about how her husband always told her she was beautiful but she could never believe him until now. It is great to see how beneficial the show was for her!

Better? She already has the highest weight loss percentage of anyone left in the game including Phil and Brady and she has lost more in pounds than any other girl. If you ask me, she's already doing pretty well.

Marilyn
vbarkley
That's true. Amy C has lost 16.74% of her weight, season to date, the highest of anyone. Brady comes next at 16.13%, followed by Amy P at 15.72%.
oregongal47
I think shallay looked awesome. I think amy is doing better under Bob...some don't click with Jillian but she cares and is trying to do a wake up call. I love her...bob may have the more nicer approach but he works you hard too...past contestants thinking that way. I say either one will make you ouch. I say yay to shallay as another middle aged woman working on her weight loss. I am half way there and I have been going to gym steadily since june. Even this week with my nutty sched....learned the hard way you miss two days it leads to two weeeks and before you know it you have blown two or three months. then your starting over. not this time...my sched days off from gym is the weekends. otherwise im there no matter how badly I want a nap. I think Shallay finally got that...that to get healthy it is called work. that is why it is called a workout not a relaxout...lol

btw the latest avatar was taken today...im doing weekly photos to keep track of how i look the camera does not lie. lol

I have to re say what I meant here...I think her tude will change, I know she lost alot of weight...and YES her mom looks great...they all are starting to do well and look good...Still kinda early in the game, but I think we ar going to see alot of changes soon..The contesants that have gone home look awsome...We see the one month part on TV, but the updates are from 4-5 months ago...and what a difference eh..

Im not really rooting for anyone this time....I think they all have a chance...They ALL win when they lose weight and get in shape and healthier...The cash is just a boost for them...it doesnt change the facts.
I think it be a better game with out the cash at the end....maybe a life time membership to a gym would be a great prize after the show eh...that way they stay in shape and not go back to where they were before..

Colleen messed up by not getting rid of Renee. Now there is a natural alliance on the Black team.
