Howdy! Just wanted to let folks know that the price of eating well IS expensive (well, here in WY it is because it has to be shipped in from so far away), but I found a way to do it. I have not gone to a movie, or rented a video in almost a year! Not only does this keep me from sitting on the couch or in a theater for hours(no calories burned there!), the $$ I saved has gone to fresh produce, higher priced fresh fish, and big bucks Low fat cheeses! I have lost 73 pounds and only have 17 more pds to go to reach my goal! I have done this totally on my own: no trainer, no diet programs or plans, NO EXCUSES! I was the queen of excuses, $$ being the main one, but where there is a will, there is a way! Don't let excuses hold you back! Don't let $$ issues stop you from a new lease on life!

You are so right. It all boils down to priorities. You spend money on the things that are important to you. Eating healthy is important to me. I have never spent more on food than I am now and I'm okay with it because I'm eating so much healthier. There are always things we can cut out in favor of a better life!

Check out your local farmer's markets too. I've been going there and save alot of money.

Plant a garden, if you have some outdoor space. Here in the north, we only have farmer's markets mid summer to early fall, but it also saves gas to buy local. smile.gif

Congratulations on the weight loss! It's a sad fact that healthy food costs more than junk food. But as you have shown if you want to live healthy you can do it.
