MIKE MUST INFILTRATE A RACING GANG WITH THE HELP OF AN OLD ARMY BUDDY -- Mike (Justin Bruening) reunites with a former Army buddy (guest star Johnny Messner, "The O.C.") to bring down a drag racing gang that is smuggling weapons overseas. Sarah (Deanna Russo) joins Mike and KITT (voiced by Val Kilmer) on this dangerous undercover mission, much to her father's (Bruce Davison) dismay.

Ok, one episode of 90% naked women is...I guess ok...but two in a row? Stupid. Don't really know what the third episode is about, but Kitt should honestly post a dress code for people riding in him. o.O
Anyway...I thought the second episode fixed a few things. First, Kitt gets 'stolen' for a little bit, that's cool. EMP thing was a little weird, but sure. Overall, I think this episode actually had a direction that it set out on and got to an end point in a logical manner. I got a little sick of seeing the bar sign though. ENOUGH WITH THE TRUCK. Good lord, the TA drove over a desert in ssssoooo many episodes (ha, give the 'stang those spiked tires XD) Don't like the sunglasses thing either, definantly need some new comlinks XD
Favorite part? Maybe Mike's random Army records showing up on Kitts hood. Thought it was a weird use of nanos, but very interesting. Really loved that Kitt was just randomly watching westerns. Almost as good as Kitt and Michael playing Atari while driving around. Or poker. Oh! And when they were driving through the desert with the theme playing (before he became a truck >.<) That was nice.
What still needs fixing? Turbo Boost is actually irritating to watch. And why the hell does Kitt need to repeat everything!? Can't he just say 'Done' or 'Sure' or something less irritating? XD Still some really cheezy lines that need help, but I think this episode cleared up some issues I had with the first episode.
Thoughts?

[One thing that most are forgetting is this: How old were you when you started watching KNIGHT RIDER? Most were kids like the kids of today that are watching the show. Alot of adults that watched it then are watching it now. Do we have the right to pass judgement and call the show a flop? I don't think so. Yes there are things that are unbeleivable but that is why kids have IMAGINATION! When we were young some beleived that such a car could exist. Some knew it was fake. But do you believe in talking trains or transforming cars? To watch kids watch these shows, we don't tell them that it is not true. Do we tell them that santa is fake? Let kids be kids. This show is not meant for the fans of the previous Knight Rider but a new breed of fans.

This looks to be the official feedback topic, so I'll post my feedback here and hopefully let my topic die. I was uninspired by the first episode, but saw a lot of potential to it. Episode 2 banked on a lot of that potential, and I think I'll be watching the full season now. Here's my thoughts.
KITT's evolution is becoming a nice sidestory concerning the show; it's something that wasn't thought of in the original show, but could have worked beautifully. KITT showing signs of further humanity... humor... friendship... loyalty... this is definitely something they'll have in every episode until the finale.
Yes, there's a lot of women in skimpy clothes in the show, and judging from the teaser for the next episode... that won't be changing anytime soon. Face the fact that the target demographic is different for this show. They're obviously shooting for the 18 to 35+ males with all the pretty girls and car porn. There's nothing wrong with that, but people should just start accepting that and moving on.
The car itself is starting to become more than a one-trick pony, and that's one improvement I'm thankful for. KITT in this episode showed turbo boost, attack mode, truck mode, document and matter duplication, along with a laaaaaser. A much better showing from the car. Looks like the entire car can be used as a display, which is rather interesting.
I realize that a lot of the chase and jump scenes are green screen rather than stunts, but understand that if they could've done that in the 80's, they would've. They did that to save money... though they did give us a nice real cliff dive and car explosion at the end. Also, nothing but car eye candy in this episode... lamborghini and mercedes amongst others, and briefly a Ford GT 40.
Mike legitimately looked like he knew what he was doing in this episode, way more than the first. I think Sarah jacking the car was a nice twist, and was explained well. Towards the end Mike really showed that he could hold his own with some honest, decent fight scenes.
Less time in the KITT-Cave... GOOD. The area is purely there to continue the plot and to show off more information. Keep it minimal like this episode, and we're in business.
All in all, I think this episode should've been the first shown. It honestly gives a much better view of the show as a whole compared to the first. Instead of cramming too much story in episode one, give people a taste of what the show is like as a whole before you push too many plot points. I hope the show stays like today's episode for the rest of the series.

Honestly, I don't really think this is a kid friendly show like the original. Something about parties at Playboy mansions kinda points to 'anti-kid show'.

Alot of shows that are geared for the younger audience has girls in them. Yes some scenes are a bit older crowd orientated but the main idea of the show is what it was when we were young.

Again, this isn't the 80's. Prime Time is adult time in current American television. Other channels at Prime Time are showing House, Dexter, CSI, Law & Order, and the list goes on. On NBC this last Monday, Chuck showed a shower scene, and Heroes had someone get a hole punched through his chest. How is this show any different?

I have to say that I enjoyed this episode much better than the first one (Knight in Shining Armor).
Some things that I thought worked for it.
* The overall feel to this one was more like the classic Knight Rider -- can't exactly pinpoint an exact reason, but to me it felt more like Knight Rider.
* The story didn't jump around like the first episode and didn't throw too much at us at once. The storyline seemed to have a clear plot.
* It appears they've listened to our comments about the snowglobe and made it look a little more like the one in the original. There appear to be three vertical bar graphs within the other visualizations.
* The line in the bar where the bad guy's girlfriend says she always falls for the wrong guys sounded like a line heard from a "damsel in distress" in one or more of the episodes of the original series.
* KITT transforming in mid-air was AWESOME!!! As was the fact that he has vulnerabilities and had to be repaired.
* It was also cool how Mike looked down at the kid in the car while they were turbo boosting.
* KITT seems to be developing more of a personality.
* There seemed to be a better interplay between the characters and some seriously funny moments.
* While I didn't like the medical device in the first episode, the device that made the key in this one was pretty cool.
* KITT with a laser coming from his scanner.
* Billy is growing on me as a character and Zoe didn't have to many lines. ;-)
* I also liked the commercial where KITT implied he had a connection with one of the judges in America's Got Talent or whatever the show is where David Hasselhoff is judge.
* The focus was more on Mike and KITT and not the rest of the "KITT crew."
Things I still didn't like:
* KITT transforming into a truck.
* Did they keep flying back and forth to the "KITT Cave" during their mission? Wouldn't a mobile unit out in the field be more practical? While I like the plane for some things, it seems like it would be a little conspicuous if they were undercover.
* Sidekicks out in the field. KITT really only needs Mike as his sidekick ;-)
I'm glad this episode was better than the first. I was getting worried, but it looks like this show might have potential yet.

Ok, maybe we should define what we consider 'the younger set' watching Knight Rider...my brother watched the orignal since he was 3 so....To me, this show would be more acceptable for 13 or above, not like...6 year olds. I suppose that's what I'm tryin' to say that it's not 'kid-friendly'. It's "tween" -shudder- friendly.

This episode was pretty cool. Hopefully though, Mike will be a bit more mature in the future, ie concentrating on doing his job instead of zooming in on girls' breasts. His partner was almost killed because he wasn't paying attention. Hopefully his friend betraying him and dying will make him grow up.
I liked KITT's developing personality too. I hope he and Mike will share some friendly banter like their forerunners did.

Again, a different time in television history. Look at all the shows that happened during that time... Knight Rider, A-Team, Magnum PI, Greatest American Hero... watch them all again. They are all -remarkably- tame compared to today's television, and there's a reason for that. What they were allowed to show back then was way more strict.
If you think those shows wouldn't have been more risque and violent if it was allowed, you're kidding yourself. Syndicated television lowered the standards of what was allowed for one reason: to compete with the ratings of cable television. Kids have their time and their channels... and every channel has kid-friendly shows. You just have to be more selective with them now.

Better, but still needs work.
I'd give it a 6/10 over all. I'd have given it 8/10 but it lost me at the key duplication scene. The original KITT would have been able to start the other car with his technology. Sure, needed the key later, but a simple 'scan the starter', have the cave duplicate the key would have been more realistic.
Get RID of that stupid KR symbol under the car when turbo boosting!
Sighs.

I enjoyed this episode thoroughly.
A bud's Solstice was used in filming at the race tavern which was cool to see Pontiac represented again, even if it were only for a few seconds.
The casting of Sung Kang as one of the Chang brothers also made me happy as he was my favorite character from "Tokyo Drift" and adding him in on the "street racing" episode was a nice addition.
Noticing the 3 bar voice modulator display inside the orb was also very welcome and cool. A bit of respect given to the original KITT.
Getting to see KITT use Turbo Boost to jump over another vehicle at speed made me, literally, giddy! Sure its CGI but remember in the later seasons of the original when they started using model cars? ahah
The matter duplication chamber was hella cool. "Kitt, make me a Turkey Club! I'm hungry" haha
As for the tidbits of story being added into the weekly adventures to keep to plot moving as to where and what Mike did in his past is intriguing and can't wait to see more little clues like that in future shows.
I am a fan of Knight Rider, as I have always been and will continue to be.

I will echo the sentiments of my fellow fans and agree that this episode was much better NBC. First off paying homage to the original start of Knight Rider with KITT driving in the desert (even with the music!!!) was simply awesome!!!

This plot was a Knight Rider plot which is why it worked. The theme of this incarnation is obviously going to be military related which is a great idea and having KITT and Mike, since Mike is obviously the horse, be a secret wing of the military is going to be cool. KITT is starting to develop a personality (Thank God, I mean we do have VAL freakin KILMER!) and Breuning (is that how you spell that) showed me tonight he can be the new Michael Knight, although he still has a long way to go. GET RID OF THE TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Less KITT cave=good. Cool gadgets tonight. Great use of KITT manipulating the bar cameras to keep an eye on his sidekick. KITT should be doing way more stuff like that. Remember this is a detective/crime show. Good guys use cool stuff like that.
The only real critique I still have is the speed of the show. Still a bit too fast. The old Knight Rider used to LOVE LOVE LOVE showing off the Trans-Am, how come the new isn't taking time to show off a pretty kick a$$ looking mustang??? Race scene was a great and unfortunately missed opportunity.
I realize all these episodes are pretty much done being made but I see improvement which is all we can ask for. I will just say this, the coolest scene in all of the pilot episode was when KITT blew by that trucker at night with all his lights off minus the red hood thingy at like 200mph. THATS KNIGHT RIDER BABY!!!!

I agree, the show is getting better, but is this new kitt a downgrade? The old Kitt was protected by the "molecular bonded shell" and was damn near indestructible, this one can't turbo boost with hurting itself. I agree with the previous poster, Kitt should have been able to start the car by remote instead of using the replicator from the Enterprise. And i'm sorry, but Kitt is supposed to be uber-classified but let's put a huge logo on the bottom for everyone to see when you turbo boost. Please stop using so much CGI, the transformation into attack mode I like, but the truck has to go. As far as Kitt's goes, is he not programmed for a "fundamental respect for all life"? I do like where they are heading with him, he is learning and I hope that they will have him develop the same humanity that the original had
Now that I am done complaining, I do like this show and will watch it every week, I just hope NBC listens to the viewers and makes just a few small changes, before another television classic is lost (Bionic woman)

Oh ya and one more thing, in this humble writer's opinion the best thing about KITT and Micheal's relationship in the original (ESPECIALLY THE FIRST SEASON) was that KITT knew he was the greatest machine ever built and took pride in that. You might even call him a bit of an egotist and he was not ashamed in reminding people about that. I was SOOOO hoping he would chastise Mike about this when they raced for pink slips. On the flip it worked with Hasselhoff because he would always respond by treating KITT just like a small child and not taking him totally seriously. BOOM! Classic guy relationship. Hey KR, give me a job!

I do agree last week show put to much in a short time. But tonight it look alot better. One thing I am liking is kitt has weaknesses and learning and understanding feelings. It was funny seeing kitt watching tv trying to learn. Now having a car start another car. I would think some type of cars kitt could start it. But take Most normal cars they still have to ues keys.

I was a major fan of the original Knight Rider and although I don't believe that this one will be able to live up to the original I am willing to give it a shot. Was anyone else puzzled by Mike's meeting an old army buddy in this episode? I thought that the point to him being shot and 'killed' in the first epi was so that no one would know that he was alive.

I actually agree with 2Knight. Some changes that I would prefer:
* While I didn't like the medical device in the first episode, the device that made the key in this one was pretty cool.
-->it looked like a dumb device to me. Opposite of making a key (easy) I would rather have seen KITT remotely starting the car or someone stealing a key. That would be more in line with the series.
* KITT transforming into a truck.
--> please stop the truck transformation, it looked more like a FORD commercial than a show.
->please stop using KITTS frame as display, it looks ridiculous.
* Billy is growing on me as a character and Zoe didn't have to many lines. ;-)
--> and well, thats the problem with next weeks show; Zoe is having a active role in it if you look at the previews. The character is so horrible I will delete the recording from my PVR so I can actually save some space next week for another new series (like the one with Slater).
Its a shame though as the show this time around was much better than last weeks show.

One of my favorite episodes of the original was the 'alternative fuel race' episode (yeah, don't remember what it was really about or what it was called right now >.<) and I think the race was called 'Cars of the Future' or something and Kitt's best line in the episode? "Michael, how can these cars be the cars of the future? I'm already here!" (or something like that XD)

I've seen a couple of posts suggesting that KITT just remotely start the car like the old KITT did without making a key. But you know, the security on cars has come a long way since the '80s.
Pretty much all cars today have a steering wheel lock built in. That's the thing that keeps the steering wheel from turning when the car is turned off. Even if a thief hotwires the car, it keeps them from being able to steer it. I don't know how many people have actually seen inside a steering column, but the steering lock is mechanical. It's kind of like a deadbolt and when the key is turned it mechanically releases a rod from a little hole or notch in the steering wheel.
So even if KITT could start the car electronically, which is conceivable especially now days since pretty much all cars have electronic ignitions, it doesn't do much to start the car remotely if there's no way to steer it.

I know the original show was a bit corny at times and the Special effects were not great, but this new show is to cgi and overwhelming. I mean when they were racing it is so so obvious that it is fake and all the transformations is just way way to much and a truck? are you kidding me? This is a far far cry from what KR was and should be. I mean the turbo boost scene alone was just hard to watch. Atleast the original was more realistic. I more than anyone wanted a new KR but I hope this show ends very soon! And finally the 1st show this season with the taking off of clothes to keep body heat down and the bikini scene, I mean they just are whoring it up for viewership. Make it stop! Devon is rolling over inhis grave, god rest his soul.

I do have to agree about the steering wheel locks, but if you look at it that way, every movie and tv show where someone just grabs two wires from underneath the dash, crosses the wires, and drives off would just look stupid, which I guess it does. But oh well, I think this show has potential.

I actually thought this episode was worse than the first. Where's the logic? Feedback:
1. The point of "killing" Mike Traceur in the first episode was so he could escape his past and work incognito. But...that won't work so well if he runs into random people he knows and tells them he's not actually dead. He should at least make an effort to pretend he doesn't know them.
2. I like the truck transformation (/dodges flames) -- if the original KITT could have done that, he would have. How many times did he fail at a pursuit because the other vehicle was a 4x4, or lose traction and fall of a mountain, etc.? However, it needs to be used MUCH less because I agree with other posters that just throwing it in willy-nilly makes the show look like a Ford commercial (by the way, I'm not naive enough to think it isn't, but do we need it bashed over our heads every episode?).
3. Sarah gets smashed in the face with the butt of a gun, but she doesn't sport so much as a bruise afterwards. Huh?
4. What was with Mike's argument about transforming in mid-air? "KITT, you have to transform because they can't see you like this!" Um...the bad guy already saw Attack Mode, got quite a good look at it actually...if it was such a big deal that Attack Mode KITT couldn't be seen, then wth did he transform in the first place...?
5. Mike, I know finding out about your past is important to you, but you need to stay focused on your current mission. Otherwise, I think Knight Industries should off you for real... (j/k).
Fun stuff:
* Blowing up the GMC SUV -- nice touch, considering all the Fords the original series blew up

* Starting to develop KITT's personality -- but let's see more! Where's the witty banter? Where's the egotistical knowledge that he's the best there is?
I know this isn't the original series, and I'm glad because I don't think you could recreate the original in today's market. You have to update and renew it. However, there are a lot of minor things that could be transferred to this new era to make lovers of the original series happy. For example, let's see more classic KR KITT/regular people interaction -- part of the fun of the original series was regular folks' reaction to the talking car...or KITT's reaction to animals piddling on him...and no one's tried to steal KITT yet! That happened how often in the original series?
Anyways, good first efforts, but there is a ton of room for improvement. I hope KR lasts long enough to grow up a little and realize its potential.
