If TPTB want Daniel's character to be likable with the majority of fans,they'll keep Chelsea faaaaaaaar away since the only thing she's done is to help bring his character crashing down. A good reason why he should stay entwined in the arms of Kate,a woman who arouses his inner animal as well as knowing how to pluck the strings of his heart,and thereby keeping him feeling happy and fulfilled compared to that 21 year old virus that continues to try and infect him with her sick,twisted ways.

I completely agree. I think Date is my new favorite couple because I'm frustrated with Ejami right now.

That's what I love about Date. They don't need to be all over each other to be hot. It's the way they look at each other. It's their body language. It's how they defend one another to Chelsea without realizing it. It's the undeniable chemistry -- they fit perfectly together and are not forced or awkward. I am in love with the Kate and Daniel pairing, and for the first time in a long time I'm very excited about this show!

My oh my! Those screen shots are so hot. I don't think Shawn C's smile could have been brighter! Have we ever seen him smile like that before? He just looks so comfortable with Lauren . I think that the Chan/Dansea fans are having a hard time accepting that Date rules. Some of their comments are downright hateful toward Kate... though I look at it as a direct hit to Lauren K. If I hear Kate referred to as granny one more time I'm going to pitch a fit.

He definitely looks more at ease and into his element. Shawn and Lauren have great chemistry and Daniel and Kate fit beautifully together. Even though there are some dark days in store for Kate, it won't be so bad knowing Daniel is by her side.

No pics or sigs yet, but count me in as definitely pro-Date. Dansea just seemed like a big mistake from the start to me, and Daniel treated Chelsea more like a big brother or dare I say dad would trying to order her around and outright scolding her. In contrast Daniel treats Kate like a woman he talks with as an equal and with respect, even when they disagree.

Wednesday, if we're lucky. Friday most definitely. I'm missing them too with this once a week stuff.

How is Chelsea going to figure out Daniel and Kate are together again is the question. What does she witness exactly? Gahhhhhhhhh the waiting! I am anxious to see how Date act around each other now and if their relationship status will be public knowledge.

Canadian viewers have already seen this... Chelsea is at the Java Cafe(?)...she orders a latte then realizes she has forgotten her wallet. She's carrying around an overnight bag instead of a purse, it's easy to lose a wallet in something that size...anyway, Daniel has done the coffee run for the hospital and pays for the latte. The Dansea fans are going to be screaming, "See, Daniel loves Chelsea...you can obviously tell that he loves Chelsea." What I saw though,was a man who's awkward around a very young woman, and it has nothing to do with the fact that he's drawn to her grandmother.

^^BooMonster I read about that and it does seem like a pointless scene. Chelsea is no longer an issue so the only thing I can think of is they are trying to show that Daniel isn't a jerk and still cares about her well being? I dunno, I can't figure it out!

I just read Prevuze for Wednesday and damn, no Kate. It's not a new encounter that Philip confronts Daniel about, but what happened by the pool. The best part is Daniel's answer when Philip asks why he is back with her: Kate is compassionate and smart and she makes him feel good... about himself, "We need each other right now."

Ok, really, they had me at the restaurant upon their first meeting.. Then they lost me, for obvious reasons. It's been a long wait, but well worth it. I wanted to like Daniel from the time I heard SC was joining the cast, but I wasn't feelin' it. For some mysterious reason, things have changed in the last few months... coincidence? I think not!

Welcome to the Date thread!! Lauren just has a way of having chemistry with most of the male actors on the show. I saw the sparks flying between Lauren and Shawn the first time Daniel met Kate. I will never forget the way he was checking her out. He totally gave her the once over, and I knew that they were so going to hook up.

I just wanted to stop in to thank everyone for the warm welcome! Not only is it a joy to finally have a great storyline to follow featuring my favorite character and actress, but even better to share the experience with others who feel the same way about it as I do.
I just watched Friday's show (as I'm sure most of you did too), but I'm left wanting more!! I guess that's the point... This story feels more like the old soapy traditions of the early 80's than just about anything I've seen on the show in a long time. Idk if anyone else noticed this, but in the episode where Kate was getting ready for the biopsy procedure (the now-famous finger love epi), the background music was reminiscent of the late 70's-early 80's "someone's gonna die" music. It was subtle, but it just added to the overall "feel" of the show, like I had just slipped on an old, comfy pair of slippers, sipped some hot chocolate and settled in to watch a romantic, well-paced love story unfold.

I noticed that mood music as well and loved it. That moment stood out within the episode because of it...played very well.

Friday's show was great, and I love how Daniel and Kate always balance each other in scenes. Whenever he's telling her not to worry, she's worrying, and whenever she's trying to make him open up, he gets reserved with her. I like that they keep each other in check, and it was very sad to see him look over at her when he was holding the results on his hands. I hope we get more Date soon.

I couldn't put my finger on it, but you nailed it. It's like ying and yang, which makes them a whole lot more interesting than just Chan(g) and is illustrative of the maturity and equality present in their relationship that was not present in Chan. The haters totally missed the boat on this one. I saw Daniel's initial reaction to her playfulness, not as indifference, but as being protective of her. When someone is facing the kind of thing she is, it's a natural defense-mechanism, or release, to act the way she was acting.(plus, who can blame her for being a bit giddy over their recent "re-connection"?).
