A FACE FROM THE PAST REAPPEARS IN THE ER-SHANE WEST ("ONCE AND AGAIN") GUEST STARS-Gates feels neglected because Sam (Linda Cardellini) is distracted while studying for her pharmacology exam. A stab wound victim comes into the ER after a school fight and Brenner (David Lyons) tries to get to the bottom of the story. Morris (Scott Grimes) surprises Neela (Parminder Nagra) with an unexpected guest. Meanwhile it's Halloween and Gates (John Stamos) gets locked into a stairwell with a quiet young boy. Angela Bassett also stars.

Love22, let's hope it's just a one-way love triangle. You know, Brenner wants Neela, but Neela wants Ray. And Brenner is trying to get in the way of her connecting with Ray. That's the only way I can see this tired love-triangle storyline working out. It would be unrealistic after the events of "Haunted" to expect Neela to fall into Brenner's arms. I hope the writers don't do that just to drag out the storyline until the finale. Ugh. I'd rather just watch Neela do surgery or banter with Dubenko until then.

My sympathy for her is not big at the moment too and is very difficult to me to swallow that Neela have done sex with Brenner. And still accept the Brenner's advances.

Not really. I like Morris, the thought of finding out more about Dr. Banfield interests me and Sam and Gates are okay. Brenner would be okay in my book if they would have him move on and leave Neela alone.

The interns, particulary Tracy, the blonde, irritate me to no end and now that Abby, Luka and Pratt are gone so with the exception of Neela and Morris, there is nobody there to even care about anymore.

I am hoping the same...I can't see how Brenner would have Neela's key, etc? They had that one romp but from the way it has appeared, nothing more! Yes, he has been trying to pursue her, but I've been thrilled to see that she has made it very clear to him that there will be nothing more...I kind of wish she'd just keep her distance from him completely...not even a coffee (like last week). Ugh! I don't care for him, haven't since his first epi. LOVE REELA~~ I'm siked for tonight's show~ Hope we won't be disappointed~

I love Morris! And, I do have to say, I like Dr. Banfield, she is tough but you can tell she's caring and appears to have a lot of depth to her character...seems kind of obvious to me that she must have lost her young son tradgically!? As for Brenner, I can see him with that blonde intern, they seem suited for each other.

Wow; that behind-the-scenes video is great! I think it is so cool they didn't shy away from showing the reality of what it is like to be an amputee and that they can live normal lives just like everyone else. I can't wait to see tonight's episode! Ray and Neela rock!!!!

"Neck hurts...need brain..." and so he returns.

OMG! OMG! I'm crying right now! What a beautiful episode! The most touching I have ever seen. Ray and Neela just take my breath away. I am totally speechless guys. I can't comment the way I want to right now because I am so emotional. It is going to take me a while to gather and compose myself. I will have to come back later and post my comments on this wonderful roomie episode later. You guys can go ahead and comment and express your thoughts about the episode. I just have to rewatch it and reflect on what happened. I'll be back later.

What an excellent episode!!! As a Roomie fan, I am very pleased and optimistic! I will share a few initial reactions now, and likely post more as I gather my thoughts together!

I think the way Ray surprised Neela was awesome and funny!

The way Ray looked at her throughout the episode---he is so totally in love with her! And by the end, I am convinced that Neela feels the same way. The end scene was very reminiscent of the end scene of Strange Bedfellows BUT I think this one has more of a sense of hope attached to it. I think Neela seems more decisive about what/who she wants--Ray!!!

Finally, how great to see Neela assert herself to Brenner that she wanted him to go!

Great episode, loved seeing Ray. I even got a little softer towards Brenner, of course I would have rather he not showed up at Neela's. But liked the way he talked to the mother and stood up to Banfield.

The episode was good I really wish he would have stayed, but I can see what Ray is doing he is learning how to trust Neela again. He does not what to jump the gun to quick he wants to make sure that Neela can be committed to him. I can forsee a good rommie ending for ER.

This was an awesome episode!

I liked how Brenner talked to that mother who was sleeping with her sons classmate and how he seemed to regret that way he treated Laverne. I actually like him when he is nowhere around Neela.

I think Daria has a crush on Gates and it is going to cause trouble btween him and Sam. It reminds me of Neela's crush on Luka during season 11 and how Sam was the first to notice it before Luka did. I like how they aren't going to make things very easy for them and there is going to be some drama between them.

Just when you want to write Banfield off as an obnoxious pain in the neck, she shows that there is more to her than what you see. I'm curious to find out what happened in her past to make her the way she is.

Morris and Ray in the lounge was an awesome scene and it should us just how much they both miss Greg. You could sense the sadness both men felt over their friend's death.

Neela and Ray, they were amazing together and the magic was still there. It didn't feel like the actors hadn't worked together in a year and a half. From the first hug to the bittersweet goodbye, it was amazing.

I also love how Neela told Brenner off for just showing up at her apartment and wouldn't let him in the door. I think she has made her feelings for him very well known, now we'll see if he listens or will he continue to chase someone who doesn't want him.

The final season has been amazing so far and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This episode was great! It was really good to see Ray again and the fake legs looked real on him, very belivable. I also like his hair and yeah he seems a bit more mature. I actually felt bad for Brenner when Neela didn't want to see him. I'm really glad they got to kiss and also, is he coming back? The feelings are still there for them.

Oh my goodness! That episode made me cry so much! It was a BEAUTIFUL episode!! The roomies still got it! If these two dont end up together, the writers are nuts because the longing stares, the kisses. wow...it's just unbelievable! I loved seeing Ray back, He's so much more mature but still the same ray the roomie fans know and love, It just completely renewed my faith with Reela. I love them together and Neela crying at end, That so got to me. Neela kicking brenner out was great! Neela now knows for sure how she feels and you know what, its time that gal went and got her man because its so clear, ray is still very much in love with her and seeing her only made it stronger. REELA FOREVER!!!

Agree!! I must've hit rewind at least 3-4 times to watch their last two scenes...they are still so good together! I definitely see hope for a reunion before ER ends. I think the song playing and the way Neela reacted when Ray left was very telling. At least I am hoping! I think Neela should be the one to go to Ray.....and of course I want him to have his arms wide open!! Love them!

Contrary to what everyone seems to think, I don't hate Ray and Neela. They just aren't, and never will be, one of the "great love stories" of ER for me. :dunno: I think they'd make a cute couple if they could just get past all the angst and do it already (uh...in a completely innocent way ). I still don't see all that much chemistry, but in this episode, I could see the glimmers of it in a way I never have before. Before the accident, most of the "feelings" were on Ray's side. Sure Neela cared about him, probably loved him. I just don't think she was ever IN love with him. That could change, and I hope it does...for the sake of all of you who want them together. I know how I would have felt if Abby and Luka hadn't ended up together, so I can understand your feelings even if I don't have them myself.

As for the rest of the episode...I felt bad for Brenner. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, he's growing on me. I don't see him, or Tony for that matter, as some "disgusting womanizing sort". Ross, Kovac, and Pratt all had a way with the ladies as well, and as a woman, I found them all extremely appealing. How are they any different? Not sure I get that line of thinking. I admit I was turned off by the way we "met" Brenner, but honestly, I look at that as ER going a little bit "racier" to bump ratings. I guess with all the sex on Gray's, they figured ER needed some heat too. *shrug* I was just as disgusted by Tony and Sam getting it on in one of the on-call rooms at the end of that same episode as I was by Brenner's beginning scene. So to me, that's moot, as the show seems to have decided to can the idea that we want to see gratuitous sex on an weekly basis. ER has never, and should never be about that. I liked seeing Brenner tell the mother of the boys to grow up and be a parent. That was a well done scene.

LOVED LOVED LOVED Frank as Caesar. Too funny...and all of the comments he received in passing from the staff were just great.

All in all a good episode. I'm excited to see Chas next week, and of course, Dr. Greene in two weeks!

I was so ecstatic. I was bouncing in my chair. I was clapping and smiling and laughing. I would love if Ray came back and him and Neela got together. Down with Brenner!

Tonight's episode has me wanting to watch it so much more now. I was practically in tears when Ray and Neela were about to kiss. I so loved it. I love Ray's introduction to Neela with the Neck Hurts, Need Brains, and Frank, of course, you can't live without him. Totally awesome.

Two weeks from now I will be on the edge of my seat waiting to see Dr. Greene come back. I just can't wait!

In a comment that one could read more into---Morris tells Neela as she walks out of the ER with Ray---"Neela, don't let this guy get away."
And later Morris makes sure he tells Ray that Neela isn't seeing anyone.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

This was the best episode of the season for me not only because I am a roomie fan but because we got a hint of the family that used to be County. There are quite a lot of new faces and because it is the last season we would not be able to know these new characters well so it was nice to see Ray, Neela, Morris, Sam, Frank and even Gates all together though I missed Luka, Abby and Pratt. Ray and Neela still have chemistry and the promo was right that it was a bittersweet reunion because I was left crying at the end. I just hope when Shane comes back for the other episode we get the happily ever after for Ray and Neela.

Now that I have had the opportunity to let this episode digest and sink in, I am now ready to comment on it.

First off let me say that the roomie interaction alone made this episode exceptional. So much so that the episode might have been below average without it. Anyway, this was by far the most interesting roomie episode of all time. It had all aspects of their relationship clicking on all cylinders. And yes, it did live up to the hype. It was inspirational, heartbreaking, beautiful, sweet, emotional, tender, loving, sensual, sad, uplifting, hopeful, tragic.........I could go on and on.

What I enjoyed so much about it was that it was so revealing. Let me be the first one to say that I totally am letting Neela off the hook. I take back all those bad things that I said about her. I understand now why she behaved the way she did and why she fell so far last season. Ray indeed pushed her away or at least didn't allow her the opportunity to be involved with his life. That must have been crushing for her. I seriously suspect that they didn't reconnect with each other until after Pratt's death. Isn't it ironic? It was Pratt in the past who encouraged Ray to give Neela space(after Gallant's death as well as after the Luby wedding) but yet it was Pratt's tragic death that lead to Neela and Ray finding each other again. I love you Pratt.

The Frankenstein imitation was just hilarious and the "hey roomie" bit was just totally nostalgic. It was awesome. I loved how everyone was happy to see Ray and I also appreciated the scene with Gates and Ray shaking hands. Both of them have grown and matured since that dreaded night and even though it was not stated, I think they both forgive each other for what happened. The Morris scene in the lounge was just classic. Ray and Morris always had good chemistry as friends and it was just so sad to to hear them talk about Greg. But I loved the fact that Morris is a total Reela shipper. Might I add that the running in the park scene, although short, was totally awesome and looked completely real. Very impressive CGI.

I really admire Ray for how much he has matured. He has accepted what has happened to him but he is not letting that hold him back. His is a story of victory and it is very uplifting. What I liked about it is that Ray's positive outlook seemed to have also given Neela some hope for her life as well. You could tell how encouraged she was about Ray's new found confidence in life. I also see a change in Neela as well. She was clearly uncomfortable with Brenner's flirtations in the ER in front of Ray. And I believe she is ashamed by her indiscretion with Brenner and feels disgusted by it. She seemed equally disappointed and outraged that Brenner spoiled what should have been a perfect night with Ray.

Can anyone say "Strange Bedfellows part 2"? I mean the similarities between the last scene of that episode and the last scene of this episode is just uncanny. I don't want go into it right now but I'm sure that other roomies picked up on it too. Anyway, what I get from this is that both Neela and Ray love each other. But what struck me by surprise was how telling Neela's feelings are for Ray. Even though Ray did most of the talking, there was still this overwhelming feeling that Neela was desperately trying to let him know that she does love him and does want to be with him. Her desperation to get him to stay was a clear indication of that. But once again, destiny was interrupted.

It will be very interesting to watch the 2nd part to this reunion. I definitely think there will be more surprises ahead.

ok, so if u r reading this beware: some serious venting coming ahead haha... I've been a roomie fan since so long... it happened before there were any actual signs of love between Neela an Ray, I loved Ray since day 1 and saw Neela and Ray bcome friends after a rough start, after seeing one of those amazing friendly moments between them I went to sleep and had a dream about Reela..I know it sounds crazy but it's true and when I woke up I was rooting 4 Reela even though there wasn't one yet, some episodes later there was the scene which I consider the 1st "official" Reela scene ( the one in which Ray is shirtless and Neela is going to a convention or something, she ate all the cereal, etc) and I couldn't be happier. I'm a shipper by nature but this particular relationship just got me, I loved everything about it, beyond words. I always liked ER but it became my favorite tv show and I just couldn't wait to see the next episode, I was a total fan, and the episodes just made my day, I smiled and cried (yes I am aware of how corny this post is turning but this are more than a year emotions ) watching their relationship go through all sorts of difficulties but every time they looked at each other or anytime I was able to say "see! he loves her", or "she is totally into him" made it all worthy. I'd like to make a recap of all those moments but there are so many and I'd need to watch all those episodes again .... Then, when both of them were ready 2 b togheter and Ray was so obvious about his feelings that I couldn't stop smiling, the accident happened... I really tought they were getting togheter I totally didn't see it coming, when the new season started and they showed on the previews Ray's face, I tought he'd have amnesia and that would b just another obstacle 4 them 2 overcome...but then I actually saw the episode and I couldn't believe it, I was so mad at the writter for ruining tha best thing of the show, I will never understand why they did that...after that I just lost interest and started watchin less and less after I eventually stopped watchin ER. I had completely lost hope 4 Reela, but 4 days ago I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that Ray was coming back, it was an incredibe surprise, so unexpected and amazing, one of the best ones ever. TONIGHT...Off course I had to see it... when Morris told Neela how she had to see the patient..I knew it was Ray, the whole mask thing showed how much he has improved since last time we saw him, an amazing sense of humor.. and then when he took off his mask and Neela saw him and the smile on her face..was just priceless and he wanted 2 surprise her because he knew how happy she would be. it was so sweet... and he just greeted her with a simple hey roomie! but it just made smile so hard, i took me back b4 the accident, when they were both happy..it was the best line 4 me. I just love that he said he looks kind of a dick or something like that, he point is that he said it bcause he saw Brenner's interest on Neela and that made him immediately dislike him..and the him trying 2 find out if she was dating someone and Morris seeing through his questions Through all we were able 2 c how much he has come along and c he is dong great. Both of them in Neela's apartment.. I knew it would lead 2 something and I was so happy..they were going 2 kiss and then the knocking!!!!... It was so sweet how they danced and how their heads were placed...the story abou trying to commit suicide made him look so vulnerable..and Neela was truly sorry 4 not being there 4 him..when they were about 2 kiss again and were interrupted again I just couldn't believe it, I tought she should just ignore the knocking and kiss him! but she didn't and opened the door and I saw drama coming and couldn't believe that their new oportunity was going 2 get ruined so easily! Neela was fast to get rid of the guy (a bit harsh but obviously she didn't want to blow her chances with Ray) but Ray was leaving! I couldn't believe it and when he said he ws in a good place I understood it as Ray not wanting 2get 2 close to Neela so he wouldn't get hurt again, but then he kissed her!!! and his final words were of hope 4 the relationship which makes me think they have a future. The episode was bittersweet cause it ended with him leaving but there is hope. I understand that Ray will return on one of the last episodes, this can only mean that the will get 2gether 4 good. I hate that we will have 2 wait all that time. Even tough at the end all that matters is that they end up 2gether I aslo hate that them restarting their relationship and gettig 2 the point we all want them to will b shrinked into 1 episode and obviously rushed as hapens when any tv show ends. I feel they deserved so much more, them reconecting..an entire season or more. I will never understand why Ray was cut off all this time and we had 2 miss what would've been the amazing story of Reela, but if the end 2gether I guess most will b 4given.. I hope they end 2gether, I'm almost sure the will, I hope they do justice 2 them, I wish Ray'd appear all season long but that won't happen. All I canwhish 4 now is 4 that fairy tale ending...

I love your toughts on the episode specially on Neela, eventough we knew b4 the accident that she loved Ray there was never an actual gesture of her 2 prove it ( it would've happened after the coffe they never drank) in contrast with Ray giving her the CD an all the other things. Yesterday seeing her get rid of Brennan with such determination nad decission made her almost even with Ray. I want 2 c some serious actions from her when we c Ray again

It was bittersweet! that's exactly what I tought when it ended..sweet all the time and bitter..seeing him leave!!! but we know he will b back!

I knew when the commercials kept saying bittersweet ruinion that it would end with them not getting together. And just when Brenner showed some heart with the ho-mamma, now I hate him even more. John Stamos almost won me over this episode with the kid but how he disrespected sam slammed him back into the gutter. OMFG I cannot wait to see the new Mark Green episode. you all take care and I will leave with my favorite quote of the episode....."Need Brain Transplant!"

I loved the show! i so am hatin on Brenner...i hope the writers get it right by not screwing it up for the roomies in the last and final season! ray and neela so rock!!!

I have been breathlessly waiting for this episode. It did not disappoint. Seeing Ray again was so great, he is incredibly HOT! I love that Neela and Ray still have their chemistry and it was great to see the faces he was making while he was watching Brenner trying to talk to Neela at the hospital. It was great that no one is forgetting Greg, he is brought up every episode. Letting everyone in the hospital grieve naturally is nice to see.

Their kiss was bittersweet, because Ray still left. But I think he knows that chasing her isn't going to get him anywhere. He needs to just step back and let Neela do the chasing. She has to go to him in the end and tell him that she wants to be with him forever. If they don't end up together by the finale, I will be bitter about it and not able to truly enjoy all the greatness that has been ER.

Loved tonight's episode! It was worth the wait! G-unit and laurism12 both did a great job describing what Roomie fans felt tonight! Does anyone know how many more episodes Shane is coming back for?
