The sweepstakes

I use IE and have not seen any questions on the site to answer-clicked every link-no use tried for two hours now -just keep getting sent in circles-really really suks

If you have any ad blocking software turned on, turn it off.

Some members were complaining that they couldn't get it (sweepstakes) to load in Firefox.
This is true if they had the Adblock plugin activated. Disabling Adblock fixed the problem.

This might be the same problem with IE.

Who won the sweepstakes?!

Does anyone know who won the sweepstakes? I know the contest ended at 10:59pm 2-18-08, but how am I supposed to know if I won that Mustang? Help?! mad.gif

Well, here is the answer to my own question. Since it was too hard to get a hold of anyone at NBC, I went to the source. I noticed that quite a few people have viewed my post, and I hope this helps you out, as well.

Thank you for contacting the Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center regarding the Ford Knight Rider Giveaway Sweepstakes.

Potential Winners will be randomly selected from among all eligible Entries received in a drawing to be held on or about March 3, 2008 ("Drawing Date") by Sponsors or their representatives. Potential Winners will be notified by phone within approximately two (2) weeks of the Drawing Date (i.e., on or about March 17, 2008).

Thanks. It would be fantastic to own the GT500 KR, but I'd take any of the 4 cars offered. I think I'll go outside now and see if lightnings going to stike my ass.

Thank so much for this information! I thought this was going to be another "sweepstakes rip off" like we have seen int he past...not enough watchers and they don't give away what they are supposed to. I know I will be listening for that phone call from Ford. I already have built my own 1985 version of K.I.T.T. and is a show piece to cruise nights (especially with the theme music playing on the CD player) as it turns all the heads.

I have to admit with your original theme that the sweepstakes for the car sucked! NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE got one, or if they did both NBC and Ford are so tight lipped about it you would think it was a CIA UFO document exposing the fraud in the background. I am seriously dishearten to see this happen in way was a great idea, and a truly good start. Oh well, and other fine mess the "suits" have screwed up the common man again, just to cost them money and ratings when no one will watch teh series related to this deceit.

Sincerely,

Patrick O' Dell, BS IT. SNHU
MR2NR
So nobody has heard yet? If NBC doesn't let us know if this was a fraud I will be upset.
patrickodell
This may upset NBC, but who got the giveaway KITT, Inquiry of who got KITT

We all know that "supposedly" the NBC in cooperation with Ford Motor Co. was going to give a twin to K.I.T.T. away for watching the 2 hour special (helps with ratings to sell your product don't you know). On March 17th there was to be announced who actually the lucky person was...and nothing happened. Not only did nothing happen, no requests for information was answered by NBC, Ford, or any e-mails sent to either companies. So what's up guys? Are we watching a new version of the "shell game" or did you actually give the car away. I would think with your ratings that you would want to be "in good" with the people that you are asking to watch...us, the consumers. I know we are not the money directly, but your sponsors are...so quit dodging this question. What happened? If you decided to renig on the promise just say so, and quit playing with the emotions of those that like the old version of the show and you now want us to purchase the "Ford Mustang" (which I almost traded in my Trans AM for, but glad I did since this came about).

I'm sure the winner knows.... really. Just because you didn't hear about it... I'm going to look this up and find out... so you know its true. Honestly.... you must have just missed the announcement or something... don't get so bent out of shape. If something went wrong there was a reason for it.

now sit tight while I google this for you and I'll be back in a bit with your answer.

According to their sweepstakes rules, you could have requested a winners’ list, though: “Rules/Winners List: To receive a copy of these Official Rules or a Winners’ List by mail, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: The Ford Knight Rider Giveaway Sweepstakes, ‘Rules’ or ‘Winners’ [specify which], P.O. Box 6611 Burbank, CA 91510. All requests must be received by April 18, 2008.”

Sometimes winners are not announced. Also if they tried the winner twice and they did not answer, they would not give it away. Makes sense to me. Ya snooze, ya loooooze!

I'm sorry that the time is up for that, but hey... you could have read that in the rules. I'm sorry that I missed it as well, bud. Well lets hope SOME poor sap is driving around in K.I.T.T. even if we're not!

the giveaway of the ford during the pilot show

NBC and the show where asking questions during the pilot for a prize of one of either the mustang or 4 other cars did or does anyone know if they were given away?

The whole thing mysteriously disappeared, it was probably a scam per se. You know seeing how many people would try to win the cars, I definitely would have wanted the GT500KR.
kittxthexcat
Why is NBC doing another Mustang give away (for Kath and Kim apparently o.O) when they didn't even follow through with the KR giveaways? Kinda unfair me thinks....
ElectricPhantom
That's a valid and good question. I was beginning to ask the same question...
KnightRiderKR
The ****** up part with the knight rider contest was you didn't even have to get the answers right to be entered. That is total ********, I believe the person who knows more than the rest should get a higher chance of winning. No need for that commie spread the luck way of doing things. They who know more should get a better chance.
machewcoy
So, they didn't even go through with that contest?! Dang, I entered and everything.. I want me a Shelby KR!!! sad.gif
kittxthexcat
I entered everyone in my immediate family. And you could enter each person what, 5 times? I had most of them done before the show even started though XD I figured they'd 'weed out' the incorrect answers later. Maybe that got to difficult for them and they just said screw it. It just would have been nice if they told us!
Darkrin
who has proof they didn't go through with the contest?

There was no winner announced or anything, the whole thing disappeared like Britney's panties.
SuperSchweet
Hey! Put your conspiracy theories aside.

The winners' info was posted on the Sweepstakes site itself, but was taken down after some time had passed, because the Sweepstakes was over and no longer relevant.

I have the list of winners. I have seen it with my own eyes. The cars/prizes were awarded to actual people.

ALL OF THIS IS ********. Read the post in the Knight Rider 2008 MOVIE thread at the top about this SAME topic
and I have already posted from the RULES of the game.... if you wanted a list of the winners, all you had to do was write them. Not all sweeps announce winners publicly. You had until some day in April to write in, but then again who reads rules, right?

If you're smart, you will for now on.

Now we have all these people openly accusing NBC of cheating when they followed through with it all.
Just because they didn't call you up personally and tell you or announce it on the show, does NOT mean it did not happen.
I have an uncle in the business who normally writes for ABC, but has been doing work with NBC lately and he also produced MOST of the TGIF shows on friday nights. Robert L. Boyett. Works with Tom Miller. Miller/Boyett Productions? Ever heard of FULL HOUSE? Family Matters?
Well anyway I inquired about it with him and there was a winner, because he follows the series himself. Also... you all need to STOP assuming things and accusing the peacock of crimes it did NOT commit.. JUST because you never got closure.

That winner sure did. And hey... maybe not all winners want to go public with it anyway?

This is why, before you jump the gun, you need to read all of the small print. You would have all known about this if you had. It's there. I hope you all don't sign contracts without reading EVERY damn word or you might be owned right now as a slave and not even know it!

Did they ever say that they were going to announce the winners? Just because you didn't hear that somebody won, doesn't mean someone didn't.
