So, i've been thinking about this for a minute now and i've pieced this together...



Arthur's power is Power Absorbtion/Enhancement, meaning he can take away/absorb/access other people's powers! when he takes an ability it's permanent and it makes him stronger as he aquries that person's ability. It would explain a lot of things such as enhancing maury's ability...which would explain his ability to target nathan from a distance. It would also explain why maury is afraid of arthur...because he could take his powers away.


Arthur could also be using his ability angela's dream sequence which he could of caused by either using maury or his own ability on angela (or it could be just angela's power)

it would also explain, in part, his motivation for wanting to release the formula. Once he is healed (adam) he will be virtually unstoppable, especially if he is surrounded by all the powers of the team he is recruiting and as long as he is enchancing the villian team they will be a force to reckon with. and he could just take their powers if necessary

apply that to angela's claims of delusions of grandeur and it fits...




Now for my far out theory to the rest of the volume...


Arthur's power will somehow be the key to saving the world. With power absorbtion it is possible that after much fighting, suspense, intriguing plot twists and epic awsomeness (don't really feel like breaking down my WHOLE THEORY because it's just way too much) The Angela petrelli team of Sylar, Peter and Nathan and if i were to guess..Hiro, maya, tracy, claire, elle, maybe merideth, Matt, and MONICA..(j/k on monica, although that would be tight) to fight against the team of Arthur Petrell's Villians who consist of Adam, Knox, Maury, Barbara, MOhinder, Daphne (who will later defect after falling for Matt) and an newly suped up ANDO and maybe a few more cats from level 5 we haven't seen quite yet (echo?) who will have a overwhelming advantage because of Arthur's enchancement abilites

Arthur will take the formula public, distracting the heroes and allowing for him to become more powerful. meanwhile his villian squad runs apeshit. after a bunch of encounters and such...one of the petrelli brothers...will either absorb arthur's ability or force/convince him to use it to take away and absorb the abilities of those who aquire the formula..which will effectively kill him because it will be too much.


i'm sure that others will play a role in some way (as always) but i think what will happen is after the death of arthur the remaining villians flee and wind up on the run as "fugitives" from the law (after going public with their abilites possibly) and from the angela's squad who is trying to do damage control after the battles. that could lead full circle back into the "exodus" volume just from a different angle...


but yeah...what do ya'll think?

I have not seen that spoiler pic of Adam, but I think power enhancement for Arthur makes sense (along with the ability to take away the power - the other side of the coin, so to speak). But I doubt he is also able to absorb powers like Peter.

Agreed. He wouldn't need Maury doing the work if he could both absorb them and enhance them. Plus, I think Maury has some sort of range (keeps Nathan and Matt imprisoned in S2).

It's got to be something that is devasting, since it seemed like Maury was frightened of him, like we're not talking just losing his ability, something even worse. He seemed deathly frightened of Arthur. Perhaps Arthur can use your power against you, he could make Maury do whatever he wants then. Or he can access and use people's powers through them, but can't keep them (as Blackson mentioned with Angela above).

As to Adam, I assumed he wants Adam's blood. But I'm wrong and Blackson is onto something, as a new huge Kristen spolier pretty much says:

Adam dies for good next week.

My theory is similar to yours.

Well everyone heard the spoilers about Arthur ability maybe to take away permanently the powers of others. An other clue is the whole "you are now paralyzed" he did against Angela. And the fact he said that such a power should be taken away.

But i have a new idea. What if his power is just not to take away the powers of others but to manipulate them in any way he wishes(Or maybe there is a limit) including taking them away permanently. For example he can trap Angela into one of her dreams and enter it and alter it. He may be able to do the same to Maury.

One problem with this idea is that why would everyone be so afraid of him if all he could do is take their powers. Okay. Just run away from him?

And the fact he could effect Angela through her dreams physically doesn't seem to fit.

Perhaps he's a powerful telepath that in turn could take control away from people, including the suppression of powers.
