I set watching the break-up scene between Max and Stephanie and was angry and heart-broken all at the same time. They have been through so much in the past year just to be together for it to come to this. I could not help but to think back...starting with Max defending Steph on the plane and the kiss in the hot tub, the oh-so steamy yet comical cave scenes, the unforgettable dance at the cheatin heart, the talk at chez rouge at christmas time, the whole Ford Decker fiasco which lead to the heart breaking confession of Stephanie being raped by Ford and Max standing by her and helping her get into therapy, the snowball fight outside the Theta house and the kiss by the fireplace, Max's surprise birthday party and the talk afterwards in her bedroom about their feelings, the support they they gave each other during and after the plane crash, their first I love you's, their first time, the picnic by the docks, and all they have been through this summner with Nick and the prototype, Trent and now Melanie. It makes me so sad to see them so angry at each other and broken-up. I know in the soap world that all couples have to go through rough and hard times...even the greatest of super-couples...Steve and Kayla...Bo and Hope... but Max and Stephanie just got started before they were torn apart. I realize a lot of people didn't like them together because of whole family connection, I respect their opinions, however speaking for myself I looked past all that to see the romance between this two. A romance, a chemistry, a connection the radiates on screen. Shelley Hennig (Stephanie) and Darin Brooks (Max) are two phenominal actors that put their heart and soul into their characters and it shows. They have that spark between them that you don't find very often anymore in the soap world. So it is very difficult for a hopless romantic like myself to see the current things going on in the current storyline. And now it seems they are pushing Stephanie towards Phillip, a character she has had nothing to do with. It's just WRONG. I really hope that Max and Stephanie find their way back to each other, to re-capture the romance they started off having, the true love they found within each other, the deep connection that draws viewers like me to not be able to take my eyes off the screen with they are on. All we can do now is hope that the writers ...... PUT THE ROMANCE BACK IN STAX and give Max and Stephanie the ultimate love story they deserve, the love story we watch Days of our Lives for. Just my opinion!!

I agree that Max and Stephanie were a good couple, but Stephanie needed to be put in her place. All the hatred she showed towards Max's newley found sister Melonie, even going so far as to start a fight with the girl. Stephanie never gave her a chance, everything that goes wrong she accuses Melonie of doing and how is that a supportive relationship? He stood by Stephanie while she trashed his sister to everyone and anyone that would listen, and when she betrayed his confidence she got what was comming to her.

I'd love to see this couple get back together, AFTER Melonie is cleared and Stephanie is forced to appologise and try to make it right with her.

I think the break up scene was so sad especially when Max was walking out the restaurant and Steph was crying at their table. But since Max told her 3 times that he loved her in the end of the break up scene and before he broke up with her. I think that they will find their way back to each other soon.
