Since we're all missing S&K so desperately on our screens in the present, I thought it would be fun to do a thread looking back at what was going on for them, on each day in the past. I'm going to focus on 2006 and 2007, but if anyone can contribute pics from the eighties, the more the merrier!

I'm going to cheat today, because it looks like they weren't on Oct. 29 in 2006 or 2007, so this is Oct. 22, 2007, the day they realized they had to give up Pocket.

It's funny that Days always has girls play the very young babies regardless to the sex on the show. But even funnier was that one of the babies was afraid of Steve's patch.

Good idea. And very emotional day indeed.

It was funny the way the babies were so sensitive to seeing the patch. I hope they weren't too traumatized by it. :/

October 30, 2007. Wonderful episode that took us from the middle of the night to the next morning. This was also the night Stephanie was raped, although we didn't know that yet.

That cracks me up, because the other day, I was messing with my parents, and I ran into their room, told them I had a nightmare and asked them if I could sleep in their bed.

I love the way Steve looks at Kayla, there is a certain look that SN gives MBE that I think is different than how he looks at other women on the show. It is as if they are sharing a funny joke between them

I love that too! Steve is funny with other people, too, but he usually is using his humor defensively or to hide something else. With Kayla, he's just being himself.

Glad you guys are enjoying this -- I know I am!

I'm going to cheat again today, because there were a few great shows in October 2007 that I just missed and want to post. This was Oct. 17, 2007, the day John died. It was so wonderful that everyone who should have been there was there, and there was a lot of resonance for Steve and Kayla with his death. I really wish Bo's illness had been used more like this last spring.

I was trying to contribute yesterday, but the only detailed summaries I could find were of the years Steve and Kayla werent on.

They were always such a big part of everyone's lives, they needed to come back. And Steve trying to get John the beer was funny. Typical John wanting a beer and some of Caroline's chowder. Even when he's dying he can make everyone smile. If a character has to go, I wish they could all go out like that. Just as touching as Steve's death all those years ago.

I miss those friendships on this show.

I miss them too. John's death was controversial, but it was so well done in terms of the relationships and the family feeling. Everybody had their moment.

Thanks for that site. If you look at it, you can definately tell that the show used to have A LOT more going on each week than it does now. And if you go to 1987 and search Steve, he's on like everyday and if he isnt on everyday, he's on at least once in the week.

I looked for yesterday and today. The only thing I could find was that on October 30, 1989, Steve lost his eye again.

I recently saw the credits for a show from 1987 or 88 on youtube, and was so surprised by how small the cast actually was. It just seemed larger, because everybody was busier and the balance was better.



Ah, during the Marina story. That's when things started to get good again.

November 1, 2006. John and Marlena returned from their trip to the wilds of Canada to bring Kayla the antidote (and get serenaded by Smokey Robinson, lol). Now everyone was waiting to see if the antidote would work.

November 3, 2006 -- still smack dab in the middle of quarantine.






^Trying to remember.

^Talking with Stephanie at the window, who was still in the hospital from her accident. Steve had one memory of her with feelings attached, and she's encouraging him to keep trying to remember Kayla, too.


^Steve feels uneasy.






^Steve gives it a shot.

^Steve remembers the first time Kayla followed him to Stockholm. He was shot, and she flew halfway around the world to come take care of him.




^He also remembers talking to Bo in the park -- I think that conversation was about Bo and Hope's marriage when they came back from Australia separated. Steve was telling Bo how important it was, and not to throw it all away.


^He doesn't have all the feelings, but it's all starting to affect him in spite of his fears.

This is good stuff, lska; keep 'em coming! Oh, and what about TS? Can I expect an update anytime soon?

From Beth's Days site. I think Steve had just rescued Kayla from being kidnapped on Orpheus' yacht, and they were swimming home.

Nov. 6, 1986: While on the pier, Shane and Gillian hear gunshots. Steve and Kayla are in the water, as she struggles he holds her afloat, but she's worried about Roman. Orphus learns Roman dressed as Steve, and he is not pleased. Roman struggles to stay afloat in the rough waters. Marlena tells Clark how she called chief Vaughn and since the ISA hasn't come there to rescue her, it must have been a rigged phone call. Steve and Kayla make it to the docks, as Shane and Gillian find them. They fill Shane in, as they see Roman in the water, and Shane dives in to get him. Kim stops Neil from drowning his sorrows in the bottle. Steve stops Kayla from saying too much. While looking after Noelle, Kim imagines herself, Shane and Andrew as a family. Kayla argues with Steve about not allowing her to at least tell Roman what they know about Orphus and the tattoos. She then thanks him for saving her, as he fights his feelings for Kayla.

November 11-Steve kidnaps Hope and tortures her with fake acid

1986:
November 26-Roman(John), Hope, Steve & Kayla rescue Marlena from Orpheus

1987:
November 20-Steve finds out Kayla is being poisoned

November 8-Steve finds out Kayla is pregnant

Yeah, I loved the way it started out fake for him, but some of the feelings became real. SN was so good at conveying the nuances there!

Steve goes to see Kayla at her parent's as Jack is there with her. As Cal tries to get Kim to remember where she saw Rebecca, they kiss, but are interrupted by Roman. Shane continues to keep Rebecca at arms length. Steve and Kayla argue about Marina. Mike learns Nick's secret. Jack tells Steve Kayla is pregnant when they argue. Roman and Kayla talk about Kim and Cal's budding romance, as Kayla tells him he's really angry at Diana, and needs to face it. Steve asks Kayla if she is really pregnant and she confirms she is. Shane and Rebecca make tracks on the raft as the hunters come at them again. Jack goes to meet Isabella after reading about her in Marina's journal.
