Annie Duke has an interest in a group call "Ante Up for Africa".
AzizalSaqr
Annie Duke has established herself as one of the best poker players in the world. In 2004, Duke beat out an assembly of 234 players in the World Series of Poker $2000 buy-in Omaha Hi/Lo Split and won her first WSOP bracelet. In August of the same year, Duke knocked out 8 of the world's greatest poker legends and won $2 million in the No-Limit Texas Hold'em winner-take-all, invitation-only WSOP Tournament of Champions, established by ESPN and Harrah’s Entertainment. Duke now serves as a consultant for the online poker site UltimateBet.com to ensure that their rules of poker and tournament structure match those you would find in the famous poker rooms of the Las Vegas strip. Furthermore, she is sought after for her vast poker skills and knowledge, coaching the likes of Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Ashton Kutcher and Charles Barkley on their poker game. Duke regularly offers a private poker lesson with herself as an auction item for charity auctions and has raised funds to benefit numerous charities. Duke is also involved in various charitable organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ante Up for Africa (a project with Actor Don Cheadle), Children’s Hospital, and many others. Duke will be playing for the charity, "Refugees International."

Pushy much? I don't mind assertiveness in women, in fact I admire it... but she was more flat out agressive and also soooo condescending about it. I think she is gearing up to be this season's version of Omarosa.
GameShowJ
I'm sure Donald Trump won't call her bluff when she gets sent to the board room. But I'm predicting she'll make it midway.

After all, it's not a spoiler if we want to "guess" when she might be fired.
tonyrev1
Hey this is my first post.

I really like what I saw in Annie Duke tonight. Yes she was aggressive and some did not like that. But it seems that she has done her research and as one would expect from a poker player she also appears to be making calculated moves. Even when she was not the team leader she made sure her presence was known. She also wanted to go on record with her decisions, a great change from the many who appear on the show and try to hide in the background without taking any risk.

Anyone who has watched the program realizes that once the team is in the board room all the nice stuff is out the window. I will be cheering for her and I believe she has a real shot to win the whole thing.

Poker players are supposed to have an innate ability to read other people, right? Well, why is it that they are all socially inept? (Remember Survivor?)

Perhaps it's because they, like Annie, are used to focusing on an individual effort as opposed to facilitating overall group effectiveness. You don't make other people more productive and effective through condescention. It's about working together and bringing out the qualities in a person that will best benefit your TEAM...not just bossing them around...because that benefits YOU.

If I were a group leader, I would find this type of personality toxic. If Annie worked in a team of one, she would probably be effective. But not here. Not this format. She needs to learn some social skills.

i agree she was VERY pushy and VERY condescending and why other people put up with that is beyond me...she needs to back off or ease up alot

Annie Duke, pushy?

what a crock of crap! just Typical catty b.s. She was stepping up to the plate and making sure that stuff got done. The Bunny, the Deal Model, the Mother & daughter and the golf chick were all too busy trying to look good.. The girls will implode and their winning streak will end due to the catfight mentality.. meoww

as for Annie. she studied the show, she is calculating and will go far I predict
blackdog3428
I dislike her. She's unnecessarily abrasive and rude and an absolute control freak. Then she says "I'm a direct person" as though that should give her a free pass to run roughshod over others, usurp the PMs power, run her mouth constantly, and basically behave badly. She doesn't seem to be able to get along with others or be much of a team player and in a real business (not gambling) that can be a career killer.

ITA... she definitely does not play well with others. She was stepping all over everyone else on the team rather than stepping up to the plate and making sure that stuff got done. She is used to playing solo and does not know how to be a team player. Running roughshod over everyone else will only end up frustrating the rest of the team and cause dissension among the members which will not keep the women in the winners circle.
JustOneOpinion
Annie's clearly very intelligent, and her assertiveness doesn't turn me off. Being truly hateful is a detriment to effectiveness, but directness isn't. Being likeable isn't necessary for success in the real business world, and it's certainly not on this show. (Piers Morgan didn't "play well with others", and he won.)
If she can think before acting in the future, she has a good shot at winning, but she sure didn't this week. Her job was to negotiate, and she had three human assets more than the men, so she could have at least offered a deal, yet the first and only option she could come up was a coin flip? That's far from calculating the odds and acting accordingly. Even worse - she lost. So did her team, and she bears a lot of responsibility for that. Annie should be thankful Claudia was too focused on her dislike of Melissa to notice it, and that no one else brought up the subject.

I am going to predict that Annie Duke will be one of the final two this year.

Hey Everyone ...

Just jumping in ... First time watching Celeb Apprentice, first time posting.

As an FYI: Annie & Benny are divorced and have been for several years. As far as I know, she's hanging out with Joe Reitman now.

Yeah Annie can be pushy and direct and some may even say abrasive, but if you knew her family you'd understand. The entire Lederer clan is GENIUS. Mom does NYTimes crosswords in pen, Dad is, as he calls himself, a Cunning Linquist. He's written several books on the English language and linguistics. You know how bright Howard is. The youngest, Katie, if I'm not mistaken was a double major at Berkely in Anthropolgy and Poetry and graduated Validictorian ... in BOTH majors.

I love the family, and yeah I hope she wins!

Cheers to all!!

BpM

JTheRealApprntce
I haven't liked Annie from the beginning. What a social climber. I cannot stand her. I really hope she doesn't win. I despise her greatly.
Fancy_New_Becca
She's way too agressive an not in the good way. She's no peirs. She's not as connected as he or has the stature to be so bold IMO. This ego of hers is in need for a check.
gin108
Quite frankly I think she is a real player. She has clearly defined goals and when she has a task to complete she goes on about the job! I thought she was great as Project Manager - is great - as the project isn't over yet! It is tough as I like her as well as Natalie Gulbis who might just one up Annie.
They are successful women in a man's world and they are great!
I am still confused as to why Melissa Rivers is crying like a twelve year old.
When you do your job your boss doesn't necessarily complement you for every breath you take.
When Melissa and Joan are gone the everyone will be better off.
I love it!

So true ... big 'WAH!!' for the Rivers women. I've really lost some respect for Joan watching this.

Go Annie!!!

I watch The Celebrity Apprentice because I like the participants for the most part. But the poker player Annie and her mouth is absolutely disgusting my autistic son came down stairs during the show for a breathing treatment -- during that time they was in the kitchen cooking for the Schwan meals, and out of her mouth came I can cook and take care of my kids and I am great at giving "%BL#W J$BS%". I have not written in during the season or any other season for any show but I just could not believe this lady and her ways and during this apprentice I agree totally with Joan Rivers from the second show through present I been saying why is she still on her. She disgust me and she is exactly like Joan Rivers said, she is two faced and self centered and has an ego that is unbelievable... I wish that this gets shared with Mr. Trump. I was totally disgusted with Annie... and she comes off looking like an angel. WOW! Funny thing is until the Apprentice I did not real get into Joan Rivers now I see that she is a very funny lady with class and I love the fact that she is outspoken and expresses what she feels... I guess she serves the meal frozen when it comes to Annie. Way to go Joan!~

How interesting that you find Annie Duke to be disgusting, two-faced and egotistical while Joan Rivers is classy, outspoken and expresses what she feels.

While I wouldn't disagree that Annie's comment in the kitchen was crude and unnecessary, I find Joan far more vulgar and incendiary. Why is it OK for Joan to call the runway model a b*tch in front of the audience at the auction? If Clint or Jesse, or any male had made that remark the board would be filled with condemnation. Please enlighten me, is that the classy side? Or was Joan simply being outspoken and expressing her feelings?

It was also Joan who has made regular weekly meltdowns a CA staple. From the frequent bleeps to her extremely personal attacks on anyone who does not adequately acknowledge her, and her daughter's, fundamental right to goddess-like status, Joan has been rude, insensitive, vulgar and (dare I say) egomaniacal.

I would say that Annie is a driven woman who has been successful in a wide variety of roles during the course of this season. She has a deep rolodex, a very creative side, and is not afraid to call them as she sees them. Her friends seem to be pretty loyal, and it's pretty hard to argue her success on CA.
lilmsjimmy37
Ok, I used to like Annie Duke and as a female poker player, Had respect for her. However, I am still in the middle of watching Tonight's episode (still on DVR) and had to stop in the middle to write this. Most of what went on in the boardroom, that's just typical business and personal BS. But what got me , is I starting thinking how right on Joan River's was with her comment of Annie being "egotistical". I thought yeah that's just a female bickering thing. All women do it, whatever. Then!! I was listening to Annie brag on herself in the kitchen. WOW! Is what I have to say. Oh I'm like the all American woman, I can do it all. Give me a break, like she is the only one who works, takes care of the household and raises kids. I don't think so.

That is where I LOST my respect for her
tracyinri1969
I have to hand it to Anne I think she has this season won hands down. I have read the comment that say that she is too aggressive and I think in management and the business world you have to be. It is all about holding people accountable and she has no problem doing that. She is claimed to have no an attitude where people are not going to like her but when it come down to it she is a money maker. She can pull in the numbers. If she wasnt a good person why is it that she can call on her friends to hop on a plane and fly across country to support her -- and they do it! Hmm why do her friends do this for a mean and alful person and then not to mention donate a ton of money. All of her friends are loyal to her and this is all for a reason. Second, why is it that the River's (Joan and Melissa) know a ton of A-list celebs and they cant pull in the numbers as Anne Duke can? Why, because these women are women of no class and people dont like them as real people. The real Joan and Melissa are coming out of their shells and calling people "Hitler". Why hasnt Trump fired these two is beyond me, it is sad it has to be all about the ratings. The River women do not make for good television.

I would like to see Anne against Piers (another one of my favs) two people who know how the real business world works.

If this gets no where but just here. Then I will have said my thoughts and that is fine with me... Im a housewife and I also can do all the thing ( lets call her bubbles) said and more. You might be a so called great poker player... Good for you and I glad that you spend all your time around a table playing cards....... Where are your kids at..... Because there sure not with you.... I can only hope that you can back up what you say.... You need to STOP , BREATH, and check your self befor you reck your self..... No woman of any self would say " and I can give a good blow job too" What do you want a coke and smile..... Grow up ! You have just found your self by your self...... Rigbe MO
Fancy_New_Becca
I can't believe she said she gives a great you know what when she has 4 young kids and they and their friends, their parents and all her business partners can watch that. Joan was right when she called her trash. A woman of class and dignity wouldn't brag about it and she wasn't being funny, she was proud of it.
phoebepuar
Wow, lot of Annie-haters on this board. I personally think what she's doing is excellent and hope she wins it all. For all the challenges, she has clearly gave her feedback and in many she was instrumental in coming through with the win. In fact, I would credit team Athena's winning percentage mostly to her. I don't really mind the occasional swearing neither. To me, that's no different to how I talk to my friends. It's not like she lets loose like a sailor in front of executive vips, Trump, or in the boardroom! Lastly, I think that some of what she's doing is just a show for the cameras and to play mind games with the other celebs - like that yelling tirade she gave over the cell phone (really, she must of wanted them to hear it when they were right next door!). So she puts on a show for us the fans and works for charity too - that's why I like her.

I agree. Annie Duke may be a sharp poker player, but I lost all respect for her as a person after this episode. She will probably win because she has the most friends who will ante up money. And that is what this show is all about. Bottomline whoever can raise tha most money ultimately wins. But I have NO respect for this woman.
phoebepuar
When she didn't fly off the handle and lose control at Joan when she was called Hitler - that's when I GAINED respect for her.

Joan is really getting out of hand. First she compares Annie to Mussolini, now Hitler.
PA940
How the hell does Donald kick people off the show for an old dui and then give Anne a pass after states that she gives good blow jobs?? Did anyone else hear that? Her children must be very proud.
Fancy_New_Becca
how can you resepct a woman who gets on national tv and says she gives a good BJ but brags about being a great mom and all that. She doesn't know how to check her mouth. It would be different maybe if her kids were grown, but they aren't. Her kids could be teased, friends, co workers, her husband could all be embaressed.
I'm not saying she doesnt raise the money, she does and she plays to win, but her manners are completely awful and disgusting.
Joan is a grown woman with a grown daugther. Joan needs to check her mouth too. What ticks me off is that Annie is a snake in the grass an Joan is the only one who will say it and to her face and no says that takes some big brass ones.

It's great that the chairty got a huge donation.
onclewillie
The person who should have left was Joan. There is no excuse, none whatsoever, for associating someone with the Nazi horror.

The irony is Annie's charity is for refugee children, the very kind of group that would have worked to save Jewish children at the end of WW II.

Joan and Melissa have no class and should have been sent packing around the 1st episode.
Fancy_New_Becca
I can see why Joan said what she said. It's okay as long as annie does it, but if anyone tries to over do, or tell her what should be done then she gets all huffy. Annie knows best. Wait so didn't mommie dearest? rolling.gif No calling my competition to raise more money than me! rolling.gif rolling.gif
Billa_Trump
Well, I have to say that she knows what a guy wants in a wife. I volunteer myself to be the judge of whether she's is as good as she claims to be. biggrin.gif
Fancy_New_Becca
down puppy, I don't believe in religion. And I was brought up christian by the way. It's not the fact she has sex, it's the tone and place and the words themself that are in bad taste. She could be BJ queen I don't care, it's the tact.

Gives a whole new meaning to the pharse blood money to me now.

I have to TOTALLY disagree with you here. Annie's choice of charity is a wonderful one. Take the time to look it up. I will add a link to it.

http://www.refugeesinternational.org/who-we-are

They do wonderful work...providing care for people, especially children who are displaced because of war or violence. People who have been abandoned by everyone. Honestly, we have a pretty decent welfare system in this country..compared to other parts of the world.
I'm thrilled that she won so much money for her charity and now I hope she wins the whole thing...
Please don't lecture me on the poverty in this country because I am aware of it, but it in no way compares to poverty in Africa or India.

Annie Duke might be good at poker, cooking, raising kids, and the best b---job ever; but her people skills are in the toilet. Her and her new side kick Heff's reject are both discusting. I thought women stopped using sex to advance in the corporate world, but not these 2. Enough celebrity apprentice for me, I'd rather watch the weather channel. At least they don't have a bayonet out trying to cut peoples throats. YUK

The more I see how Annie Duke behaves, the less I like her. She is such a nasty and back stabbing person. I can see why she can win at cards against men. She has multiple personalities and she is obviously showing her TRUE self on this show. Horrible person and I used to like her. Will not watch her play poker anymore. I find her to be the nastiest person since Omarosa on this show. I hope she gets FIRED soon!!!!
