I'm so frustrated NBC is cancelling this show. I hope they show all 13 episodes. It has a lot of potential and at least makes sense compared to the falling Heroes. I think NBC needs to realize the long-term potential and at least give it a full season to catch on . I've finally started watching Network TV again, but if they keep cancelling all the shows I won't keep watching new ones. Why invest my time in shows that are just going to get cancelled. Please give My Own Worst Enemy a reprieve.

Okay, I just left a reply on the message board for "Lipstick Jungle" too, and even as I sit and type I am getting more and more upset that both these really good shows are reportedly being cancelled!!! I really really want there to be something we can do to change the network's mind...I mean they held on for dear life to "Friday Night Lights," and for some unknown reasons still to "Heroes." I LOVE this show...Christian Slater is sooo back (was anyway), and it has mystery, intrigue, good cast...I have no clue what's gonna happen with each episode. It's so freakin' rare these days to find good tv because ridiculous reality tv is EVERYWHERE, and heaven forbid people enjoy creative entertainment....grrrrrr...NBC doesn't need to lose any more viewers, and I have a feeling quite a few people won't have a single reason to tune in anymore once these great dramas are gone!!

I love this show! It had just become a new favorite of mine. I can't believe they're canning it!!! Couldn't they at least try a different time slot first? It's a really good show...at least I think so. I've been telling my friends about it, but it seems like it was just getting started. geeez. I thought Christian Slater was great in it! Of course, I've always been a fan of him. True Romance is one of my all-time favorite movies! I wish they would try a different time slot and give it a little more time. Oh well. I enjoyed it while it lasted!!!

NBC is so so wrong about this. First of all they put it up against one of the highest rated shows out there, CSI Miami. Second of all they are relying of Heroes to make this show a success. Many people have jumped ship on Heroes and NBC just doesn't want to realize it. Put this show on a Wednesday and I would bet the farm that it would do better. I hate these stupid networks that write off shows like this just because they cant find the correct slot for it. Monday nights is also competing with football which I would guess takes some of the demographic that this show is targeted at. Men!!!!! Figure it out NBC, not all shows are going to put up American Idol numbers but they would have a better chance if you didn't put them up against other highly rated shows. Christian Slater has a HUGE following, Get him out there doing interviews and selling the show. The only time NBC advertised the show was during the Olympics. I'm not sure that the people that sat and watched track and field are the same people that would watch this show. Give it a chance, at least finish the season.......

Please don't cancel this show! It's intelligent! I love the way it explores the issues of a person with multiple personalities and the way Henry/Edward are trying to learn to work together. It's fascinating, the way Henry's children respond to the different men that he is.
Henry's son responds much better to Edward than Henry, while Henry's daughter is frightened of Edward. Henry's wife is enamoured of the lover that Edward is while not comfortable with the husband he is. The missions are fun to watch as is the byplay between Henry and Edward on their phone.
I have truly been looking forward to watching the relationship between these two men who are in effect siamese twins who don't actually like each other!

NBC must stand for No Body Cares. This station keeps shows like The Biggest Loser and Knight Rider, but quality shows like My Own Worst Enemy, Journeyman and New Amsterdam hit the cutting room floor. The programming directors and decision makers at this network seem to be oblivious to quality and insist on pandering to the least intellectual amongst us. They invest far to little into getting the word out about quality television. These shows are put in the latest primetime slots and are advertised far too little. While Chuck is amusing, it is written for 13 year old boys and put in the 8 o'clock slot. My Own is exciting, well written and fantastically acted, but it is put in the ten o'clock time slot. I can never even watch it during its regular time and have to DVR it in order to catch it. Tuesday evening had become a night to look forward to where I could sit down and escape. No longer because some Jack Azz at NBC doesn't feel like an intelligent show has legs. I'll just have to leave NBC in the dust and watch Fox which at least has Fringe. Wake up NBC, if it wasn't for Hero's your network would be worthless.

NICE WORK, NBC! It's frustrating for viewers to invest time in a promising new show only to have the network give it the ax before the season is even done. Why should I ever bother to watch ANY of your new drama series when you're not going to give them a chance to build an audience? Keep culling any show with a glimmer of intelligence so I can quit watching this network entirely.

I just read on Yahoo that no more episodes of either MOWE or Lipstick Jungle will air. This really sucks!!!! I usually opt to surfing the internet and gaming during PrimeTime because nothing ever really keeps my attention. Reality Shows suck A** in my opinion and more and more are on every day it seems. I get enough Reality TV just walking down the road of Life. One evening, by chance, I caught the first MOWE episode and was hooked. I put notes up on the TV reminding me that Monday night at 9p.m. (No daylight savings time in AZ) was a great new show that captured at least one hour of my internet time (NBC should be proud of that!!!!). But now they are cancelling the show with no new episodes to air. What a Pity. I guess the internet will get that hour back. It reall does make me leary of getting into any new show that comes out. Almost better to just watch reruns of Frasier or Everybody Loves Raymond or something that will never go away than to get excited and interested in a show that will only air 3 or 4 episodes ,enough to get you interested, then BLAM!!!!!!! cancel it. My wife was suprised that a show actually got me off the computer in the evening. Well that is no more. Definatley a negative towards NBC.
I must add that Yahoo also reported that another new series is coming out called DollHouse which is supposed to be similar in nature to MOWE. Will it do any better? Who knows. I can tell you that I will not watch it.

I am quite disappointed to have heard this news. Why are they not giving this show a chance... Slater is awesome and it is a shame that it is not being given a chance when a show like knight rider still lives on... There is so much they could do with this show... I was an ALIAS fan and this show seems similar and I am enjoying it... NBC should give their heads a shake and re-visit this decision.
Also moving the show to an earlier time slot would help. Currently I am having to watch the show on timeshift as 10pm is too late for me.

This show is great..... I can't believe they would even think about canceling it. Give it more time!!! You release the show during elections now that they are over people need something to get focus on and I think this show will do it. I for one stay up to make sure I watch it. Change the time, change the night, there is really nothing on Wed. nights.

WOW!! I read some responses to the cancelling of My Own Worst Enemy and I have to say I agree with the ones I read! WHY OH WHY bring on great shows that have so much potential and then cancel them after only 4 episodes!??!! Absolutely ridiculous!! Christian Slater is an amazing actor and has pulled off something that not a lot of people can do.......be believable and convincing as 2 charactors. I give kudos to the writers for creating such an amazing story. Maybe you need the name JJ Abrams or something backing the show in order for it to be successful. I totally agree that shows have been given the chance to make it through at least one season without being cancelled...but this show should be given that same chance! Maybe it is the time slot or if Heroes is doing so poorly in the ratings, why place this amazing show after it? I am really very disturbed and like one viewer stated, am very skeptical about watching network TV just for this fact. I begin watching something and then it is cancelled. Maybe this show should be picked up by a cable network and be given the proper attention it deserves. I am very upset with the news!! Christian Slater is amazing and I am a true fan...it is just to bad network TV couldnt recognize that.

Nov 13 2008, 10:31 AM
NBC needs to give viewers more time, particularly during this busy political season, to find new shows such as My Own Worst Enemy: and in so doing, allow new shows to gather a larger audience. I know that I have spent time watching political pundits and coverage of the presidential election this fall; and now that I am ready to switch gears and catch up on the shows that I have missed, I discover that a new show that I have only had the opportunity to watch a couple of times has been canceled? Such an inordinate amount of money is spent on developing TV shows----why not give them more time to create an impact and find an audience?

I agree. I normally don't get interested in anything that is currently on TV because most are insults to intelligence. This show has been awesome and I've enjoyed each episode. Each production is indicative of extreme forethought and planning. I go on HULU to watch and rewatch each installment. I see something new each time that I missed before and am so impressed with the acting, especially Christian Slater's abilities. I've never watched anything he's done until this show and it has definitely peaked my interest in his capabilities and past work. Keep up the excellence Christian! It's a pity quality is not considered a vertue in the current choice of programs available!!!!

Reality TV has become the norm....which has been entertaining but so repetitive! MOWE has brought excitement, entertainment, suspense and edge of your seat thrills every week. How can we continue to watch bogus reality TV when we can escape to a show like MOWE. Nothing has entertained me or intrigued me more since Alias. I must admit, once ER ends this season, so will my viewership of NBC. I really hope the network goes down the tubes now!

I can't say as i've ever seen the show, it interested me and I'm a big fan of Christian Slater, but NBC has done this to many times for me to invest any time in a show they havent committed to. They, and other networks, have no patience for letting a show gain momentum - They want instant success...I won't watch ANY new shows on ANY networks til the network shows me they are keeping them around - Why waste getting invested in something I like only to have the rug pulled out??? I suspect there are many people like me - so in essence the networks are creating their own failures regardless of the show...

This is my favorite new show and they cancel it. Is there any appeal that can be made? The only NBC shows I watch are L&O, original flavor and SVU. I don't watch reality shows at all. If this goes through those two shows will remain the only ones I watch on NBC.

I can't believe it either! Ridiculous! Something good for a change and I love Christian Slater! I am tired of reality shows and this was a really good story. Who cares about Neilsen anyway it is about as inaccurate as it gets! This was the best show in a long time other than Supernatural! And Monday night! Come on-it has CSI Miami to contend with along with Monday Night Football! Give it the chance you guys cancel things way to fast!

I'm devistated about the cancellation of my show. I signed up for this site only to discuss my disappointment with the cancellation news. Christian Slater is brilliant in this. He can attract an audience. This premise is good. I would like to see "less" of the conflict between Henry and Edward. Henry can't continue to be a stumbling block.
Please keep the show alive. The failure is not MOWE but the time slot (management). Do your job and find a place for it.
Thank you.

This is the most horrible news I've heard in a very long time. I love the way this show keeps you guessing. You never know when Henry will be thrown into the midst of a firefight or when Edward will have to buy a dress for a dance. I'm so disappointed to hear they are going to cancel this show. I make sure I have dinner done and and even miss an hour of Monday Night Football, just to watch this show. I've never been more tired of reality tv than I am right now. I cannot think of another show I even watch on NBC and I wont at all once they take MOWE off the air. How stupid can the network be? Please tell me there is something we can do to make them give this show a chance. Someone else mentioned Friday Night Lights..what happened to that show? Here is the deal. There have been AT LEAST 3 great shows that have been canceled in the Monday, 10 pm est time slot. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was a well written, smart show that got AXED. (The show was replaced by some Ashton Kutcher reality show garbage which was quickly replaced by The Black Donnelys all within the same season..with lower ratings the Studio 60) Then the following season came Journeyman, another well written show stuck in that 10 pm death hole on Mondays. Guess what? Yep, canceled. This season, again, A GREAT SHOW with My Own Worst Enemy and again, cut loose after 4 episodes. Give me a break NBC. You quickly cancel shows and for what? What other garbage are you going to force feed your viewers? It is NO wonder NBC lags behind the other 3 networks. You don't give these shows any chance to succeed. Announcing cancelations after 4 episodes, putting shows on hiatus for months and bringing them back only to replace with 2 other shows that failed worse. You guys are a joke. The ONLY reason I watch NBC is for CHUCK (which I hear may or may not be renewed), The Office, & 30 ROCK (which has iffy ratings and nothing is safe with NBC so who knows). Earl and Kath & Kim get watched because of Office & 30 Rock. I enjoy these shows as well but not "must see tv".
I watched Sunday Night Football also because it's, well, football. Other than that NBC, you are garbage. You are behind because the powers that be make poor decisions involving great shows. You could have one hell of a lineup with Studio 60, Journeyman, and My Own Worst Enemy but instead you give us Knight Rider rehashed crap and Deal or No Deal until I could vomit. Wake up NBC, your viewers are smarter than that.

My husband and I are also very upset to see that NBC is taking another great show off the air. We stopped watching CSI Miami because we think this show is soooo much better. If there is no way to stop the cancellation can NBC at least provide enough episodes and give us viewers an ending? I am so sick of watching new shows every season, liking them, getting hooked and then the show is just gone with no ending to the story line. I think this show deserves more time, and I hope NBC reconsiders.

I love NBC for trying new shows, but it amazes me how quick they "bail" on their own productions. Friday Night Lights will be back with season 3 (season 2 cut short by strike) in Jan-Feb as it is appearing now on Direct-TV due to a production deal. Now 3-4 episodes of MOWE against Monday Night Football and MOWE is being cancelled---I really don't get it...NBC. You shoot yourself in the foot on every really good show. Guess we'll have 8 hours per night of Deal-Or-No-Deal...since thats all NBC will get behind. I am sick at my stomach---PLEASE SAVE MOWE

I agree heartily with TJ on this one.
I think TJ also gives a big clue as to why MOWE would be cancelled. It's probably more expensive to produce -- I mean, the quality is fantastic on this show, it unfurls like a cinematic event. Reality shows, contest shows and game shows are relatively much cheaper to make and the studio makes a killing. Mr. Slater should be very proud of this show. I will continue to watch. It's an intelligent show that lets you get involved and really feel for the characters on the show, along with "who is the real bad guy" and "why are they so protecting his character" in this story. You watch it unfurl gradually and naturally, which is unheard of nowadays. Perhaps we can start up a save this show campaign for My Own Worst Enemy. NBC needs to give this show a chance and stop throwing it against CSI franchises.
P.S. It's true, Heroes is faltering but NBC is not going to give up on it just yet because Heroes gave them an immediate response in their first season, they didn't have to foster it or nuture it as much as other shows. They also know that because of the 'comic book geek' element, or what I call the Star Wars/Star Trek fanatic phenomenon, Heroes will have a built in fanbase that they can work and extend the 'franchise' (having the guy who plays Skylar play Mr. Spock in the new Star Trek movie coming up also helps). You all see where I'm going and what I'm saying...think like a television executive and a stockholder and it all makes sense. Sadly.

This is unfortunate. This is the same thing that happened to "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip". Create a GREAT, interesting & unique show, get people into it & then don't really support it and finally kill it. No wonder NBC is lagging in the ratings...who's running this freakin' network?? I just don't get it. They're showing more support for the UTTERLY RIDICULOUS "Kath & Kim" but nothing for a show that actually has some substance!

Kath and Kim is a BBC (U.K.) show that probably has a built in audience and following. I watched the first episode for 10 minutes. It had that awkward feeling. Don't know if it will gel and 'catch' the audience but people watch television for escapism and not necessarily intelligence. Someone mentioned Fringe on Fox, and Fringe is for those who sorely miss the X-Files. It's a good show though.
I do hope that NBC reconsiders. Perhaps if people got together with a DO NOT CANCEL - SAVE THIS SHOW thing, who knows? And someone else wrote about Monday night being the kiss of death for NBC shows as of late...perhaps NBC will see that and reconsider their decision on this show.
I still think it's an expense decision on the part of NBC.

I AM SOOO P** ED OFF! I can't believe it got canceled after only 4 epp.
IT WAS THE ONLY SHOW ON NETWORK T.V THAT I WATCHED!! I knew this would happen. NBC only airs CRAP!! When it gets something good like this they just throw in the towel when it doesn't get perfect ratings. I wish Christian would take it to cable because it would do better there.
I don't understand why they would waste time trying to convince him to do t.v. if they were not planning to give it a real shot? I think we need to get a petition going to keep it on! NBC SUCKS!!!

My Own Worst Enemy was great in some ways but keeping track of which personality was in control at which time was irritating. This weeks episode had 3 operatives switching in and out from their cover ID to the Operator ID. That was too much to try and decipher. Screw the nice guy routine i want to see more of the bad ass unapologetic characters. It shouldn't have been canceled though.

What a bunch of crap this is, to cancel the show so quick, c'mon now. Maybe if they'd quit canceling shows on people, more would invest their time to watch them, who wants to get into a show then have this happen. More times than I can count, this is the case, thanks nbc for giving me yet another reason to tune into another channel. This was a fantastic show, thoroughly enjoyable. I'v never really been a christian slater fan, up until now, kudos on this one, huge potential of being a big hit series, maybe another station with brains will pick this up and continue it. If not, well, I just may not bother watching any series you try to air, not going through this again.

This show is the best thing I've seen on TV since Kyle X/Y (Although KyleX/Y got a little convoluted in it's 3rd season.)
What an interesting concept, and the writers are doing a great job of things. Yes I might suggest something slightly more visual so that we can know which personality has taken over at any one time, but a show that has two men sharing the same body, and each others lives! What a great concept, especially when they are such different personalities. I so much want to see the character development with his son, and even with his wife. Could this become a kind of Mr. and Mrs. Smith with a twist??
NBC takes this show and puts it up against impossible odds. Gives it no time to spread to the viewers, and then gives up and cancels. I'm hoping that someone picks it up... It would be a pity to loose a show with such potential. But writers, PLEASE keep the show about Slaters characters and their interaction with each other... Do not do what they did with Kyle and turn the thing into a convoluted conspiracy. This is not LOST, this is an INTELLIGENT drama.
To the NBC execs that hav etheir heads stuffed up each others $*@#'s Maybe if you started to DEVELOPE a show rather than just praying for a following day 1... And consider how many are watching it on TIVO, or as I do on my digital DVR. a full 50% of my office has watched 2 or more episodes, and we live in New England Patriots country where Monday Night Football is a RIGHT!
Throw us a bone guys! Move them to ANY other night and give them another season...

Unbelievable to cancel this well written, thinking persons' action show. MOWE is one of the best in a long time. Journeyman never really got a chance to develop, either, what with last year's writers' strike. No wonder your ratings are in the dumper, NBC; you eliminate all that's worth watching and keep drivel like Knight Rider, Kath & Kim, and CRUSOE!!! Give me a break. Not to mention, letting Jay Leno "retire" next spring. You'll be lucky to have 3 viewers to any of you shows!

Is this some kind of way to wake up the viewers? MOWE is a great show and I agree it's well written and it wakes up the brain. So tired of the mindless television that these networks are throwing at us...give us something with bite and substance...keep the show!!! The writers are great, not to mention the acting, it's good to see Slater again...this role is meant for him.
If you dump the show...maybe HBO/Showtime will pick it up...then you will be sorry
Keep the show and get rid of the shows that are reaching, like Earl...

Today is the first I have heard of the cancelation of this show and I am really upset. I LOVE this new show!! I totally agree with a previous post about possibly changing the date and or time and it's ratings would soar. However, no matter what I DVR it or watch in online the next day if I can't stay up to watch it. Christian Slater is making a huge come back with this show, we all love him in all his movies and now we can see him every week in a role or roles I should say that serve him well. This show has a great cast and a very "on the edge of my seat" story line. It has everything a great series should. A great combo of comedy, suspense. It is one that leaves you wanting more and unable to wait a week to see what comes next. Everyone needs to rally to NBC to keep this show going!!

Neilson rating are out of touch with a lot people because they don't take into account people watching on the internet or a whole host of other factors. This series is also just starting- give it time to get some legs!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, say it aint so! I love this show and I was just getting into the AJ Sun "job". This is the first time I've ever done the online game that was part of a show . . . and now it's going away. I HATE reality TV - and it seems like they leave those stupid shows on forever! I loved New Amsterdam and was really getting into it and they cancelled it - now this. I doubt I will be tempted to watch another new show that NBC puts out, unless of course they reconsider and keep MOWE, please.

This show is smart, savvy, interesting, intelligent, funny, sexy, and relevant...and you're canceling it??? Christian Slater is amazing in this role. The cast couldn't be any better! Maybe the time slot is the issue, because it certainly isn't the writing or execution of the story. Please, please, please don't do this!!

This is the best show on television and certainly one of the best new shows. Surely there is way we can save this gem. It is so different than all the doctor; lawyer and investigative shows. Finally was a show that gave us something different. I love this show and want it to stay on. We need to find a way to at least view the episodes they have taped.

Please tell me how do we get these writers to stop cancelling good shows like this and JourneyMan????? Who can we write to petition to stop this cancellation? It worked with Jericho- maybe if we can get enough people to say yes they will reconsider! I am soooo sick of this!!!!
I went to nbc 's site and at the bottom you can click 'contact us', then you can pick 'other' from a list of shows and send them an email asking them not to cancel. I just did. I'm asking my friends and family to do the same.
I've never been so upset at a show cancelling in my 40 years on this planet.

Ha, NBC is run by morons they are cancellation happy. Canceling shows like Journeyman, Las Vegas - just guilty pleasure, MOWE. Complete idiots. I wonder where Seinfeld would have ended up with the NBC of today.

Thank you for the info on Friday Night Lights. Do you know when/what time they will start airing it again?

I cannot believe that i am hearing you canceled this amazing show. did you not realize that in greenlighting a "high concept" show that it might require more time to catch on then, oh i dont know, Deal or No DEAL!!! The concept is everything and your promotions have n ot been clear! jeez, is there no patience for new shows that are of such high quality? You have a terrific show here. Stop! Dont panic... consider how the average viewer will need a bit of time and education to even understand the premise but they will! THEY WILL! you are making a huge mistake by letting this one go so easily. the cast is awesome, the writing is terrific and every single time my husband and i have explained the premise of the show to someone, they have all responded with great interest and a promise to check it out.
people DONT KNOW WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT! by and large everyone thinks it is a spy show or a response to jack bauer or a oceans thirteen ripoff, b ut when folklks find out they are instantly interested... oh for the love of pete, just keep it on... dont cancel the show...
