The Hummingbird was the name of the position Edward used in bed with Henry's wife that she liked so much. That's something I could donate to, along with the microchip idea someone had. And I'm in total support of the boycott. NBC has nothing for me to watch anymore, so it won't even be hard to do.

You cancelled Journeyman now My Own Worst Enemy. Seriously??? All you need to do now is get rid of Life and I can quit your channel for good.
Not to give you any ideas. This SUCKS!
Ditto.
What the broadcast networks fail to recognize is that many of us won't just bounce to a new TV show. We'll simply stop watching altogether.
After all, the Internet doesn't get canceled after 9 weeks. I didn't watch TV at all for about 4 years. My media entertainment came via the Internet.
Then a few shows grabbed my attention. Journeyman. Life. The Nine (on ABC). Firefly. Even Lost, at its best. The clever, intelligent shows with deep, intelligent plots and thoughtful themes.
But in the end, each gets canceled, always too soon, just as it's building an audience. (Exception: Lost.) These kinds of shows gradually gain popularity, largely by word of mouth, because they draw in an audience that otherwise isn't tapped: Intelligent people. The result is they maintain a stronger loyalty and fan base among new viewers, because they stand out among the myriad of mindless trash put on during prime time these days.
Yes, My Own Worst Enemy likely cost a lot more to produce than the trash reality shows. But it produced quality. A terrific cast. (Alfre Woodard, Saffron Burroughs, James Cromwell and Christian Slater on the same show? Wow.)
You have to spend money to make money. My Own Worst Enemy was money well-spent -- if NBC stuck with the investment. But it didn't.
NBC is making the same poor decisions that have tanked other industries (automobile, newspapers, steel, etc.). Basically, they kept an eye on the short-term profits without recognizing that you need to make long-term investments in quality products if you're to keep your clientele.
After Life gets canceled, they'll lose this client. (And I watch all the commercials.) It's just not worth investing the time in new shows, and it's certainly not worth watching the other trash they put on.
I turn on NBC at 10 p.m. Monday and 9 p.m. Wednesday. Now it's just one of them.

Up until last year, NBC was
never on my "Stations To Watch" list. But, with their signing of "Chuck" to the roster in '07, they gained some of my attention. Then they really brought me on board after MOWE's pilot episode. Both of these shows are in essence the visuals & creations every guy dreamed of wanting to become when they were younger: being an agent for the CIA, NSA, Special Ops, Navy SEALS, Delta Force, etc. If NBC doesn't revive it's efforts to keep this show, the other will most likely be soon to follow rank.

I'm quickly beginning to remember why NBC was never on my list: they pull crap like this!
NBC exec's: if you don't keep this show, I'm going to convince all those in my circle of influence to join me in boycotting everything that is NBC Universal, and tell them to pass the word along. Other than Chuck on NBC, and Monk & Psych on USA, I never touch anything NBC - and will become resolute in my resolve if MOWE becomes ghost.

I am also very disappointed in NBC for cancelling My Own Worst Enemy. I have really enjoyed this show and now it ends the way it did. This is the second year in a row that they have cancelled a show that I have enjoyed watching. This could keep me from watching the NBC network all together. They didn't the show enough of a chance. Why watch any of their new shows each year. They will probably cancel it and then would have wasted our time like they have already demonstrated.

Registered on this forum just to express my disappointment with NBC in their decision to cancel My Own Worst Enemy. This show stole me away from CSI Miami on Monday nights and had me hooked from the get go. Christian Slater showed no rust and did a spectacular job in his role as Edward/Henry. The rest of the supporting cast (if you want to call them that....they're headline stars in their own right) was phenomenal and deserve better than a short series run.
I really enojyed where they were going with the Tom/Raymond character. Last night's episode where he shoots the bad guy dead in the street with his "wife" watching was a classic super spy scene. And let's not forget about his "visit" to the home of the "thug" who stole his wife's ring. Amazing acting and writing.
To make matters worse, they end the show with a cliff hanger. I nearly ripped my sofa pillow in half with that ending and knowing full well that that was it!
I've sent my letter of disdain to NBC through the CONTACT US link on the main page that other posters have mentioned. In it, I said NBC's program director(s) should be ashamed to have ruined a network that at one time dominated the air waves with shows like Saturday Night Live (a shadow of the show in its prime), Friends, Cheers, Seinfeld, Frasier and Night Court.
It's back to CBS and CSI Miami on Mondays @ 10 for me. Bringing the number of shows I watch on NBC to ZERO. There is nothing on this network worth watching.
Good luck with "Momma's Boy" NBC....with shows like that you'll be at #1 again in no time.

NBC is so so wrong about this. First of all they put it up against one of the highest rated shows out there, CSI Miami. Second of all they are relying of Heroes to make this show a success. Many people have jumped ship on Heroes and NBC just doesn't want to realize it. Put this show on a Wednesday and I would bet the farm that it would do better. I hate these stupid networks that write off shows like this just because they cant find the correct slot for it. Monday nights is also competing with football which I would guess takes some of the demographic that this show is targeted at. Men!!!!! Figure it out NBC, not all shows are going to put up American Idol numbers but they would have a better chance if you didn't put them up against other highly rated shows. Christian Slater has a HUGE following, Get him out there doing interviews and selling the show. The only time NBC advertised the show was during the Olympics. I'm not sure that the people that sat and watched track and field are the same people that would watch this show. Give it a chance, at least finish the season.......
I CAN'T, CAN'T , CAN'T BELIEVE THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED. WHO ARE THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE THESE VERY VERY WRONG, DECISIONS? THEY ARE THE ONES THAT SHOULD GET FIRED. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO ENJOY CHRISTIAN SLATER AND MY OWN WORST ENEMY. THERE ARE SO MANY STUPID SHOWS LEFT ON THE AIR, AND THIS GREAT ONE IS BEING PULLED OFF??????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????? I caught a preview of My Own Worst Enemy quite by accident and, since Slater and Alfre Woodard were starring, decided to tune in. Like the others here, I loved the show. The cast is superb and the storyline is actually a bit out of the ordinary. MOWE is the only network show I've watched since Seinfeld went off the air.
With the cancellation of MOWE, I guess I can again say that the networks (NBC, this means you) don't produce anything worth my time.

I feel certain that NBC will make the right call here. This is a show that is up there with The Alias - a must see - thing is - it's on an obscure night. I have been telling everyone I know to tune in. Even I tend to forget sometimes b/c it's on a Monday night. They should put it in ER's time slot on Thursdays - or Maybe Sunday night at 10:00. I don't understand why the networks (NBC in particular) keeps introducing shows and not giving them time to catch on. Clearly they do not understand the viewing public and the fact that we all have lives and are busy and need a little time to develop a relationship with a show - soon as we do - they Rip it away from us. Frankly - I'm tired of learning to love new shows only to have my heart broken. I was actually a fan of LIFE and glad they kept it - though it seems to be less witty than it was before - don't know what part of the writing staff changed.
But for the record - MY OWN WORST ENEMY is the best NBC has had in a long time! Wake UP NBC.
Fire who you must - but not Christian Slater and the cast and crew of this show.

I too only registered to tell NBC how much I loved the show - only to see that these discussions of cancellation were going on. NBC - you keep jerking our chain w/ new shows that we learn to love and catch on too slowly for you and we'll stop watching all together - you have way too much competition out there to screw with us. (I actually have decided I kind of like Lipstick Jungle too - but it's gone I hear as well - ) NBC had better get their heads out of their tails soon - or we'll all just watch those other networks...

I joined just to say NBC is the No Brains Corps.....MOWE is the best show they have on imho. Very unique, very entertaining, smart, funny. I cant understand how stupid shows can stay on but high dollar, high quality shows like MOWE gets cancelled. If its the money scale the effects back a bit but keep the show. I read in the paper that NBC says its too expensive and that the Neilson ratings show its not being watched thats why it is cancelled. I think Neilson rating are irrelevant in todays world as the only proof of what is good tv. I watch this show and many others from other networks on the internet like so many other people. They need take that into consideration. Its the wave of the future.
I remember another show with great potential that Im still mad got cancelled. Profit with Adrian Pasdar back in the day. The cancellation of MOWE is along the same lines for me. I will miss it and the cast especially Angie. NBC you should have cut 10 of the stupid shows you have on and kept this one. I think we can take comfort in as much as the leading characters were not killed-off.
The show came to a conclusion with there being a permanent conclusion.
This could come back and pick-up right from where they quite literally "Turned-off the lights".
We can only hope and pray.
I have seen a couple of clips from this new thing, "Momma's Boy's".
Terrible.

I have to agree with everyone on this board. This is a great show, and it could work;
Journeyman could have worked too, but NBC did not want to take the time to make it work. Now, they are doing it to
My Own Worst Enemy, another fantastic show. Clearly, this time slot is not good for NBC, but rather than take a show that has a clear fan base behind it, and change it to a workable time slot, they just choose to cancel it. I have said it here, and on many other sites for other great shows going by the wayside (
Pushing Daisies), why don't the networks use the internet to keep these shows running. It wouldn't hurt to try, and it gives them a little more freedom because they will not have to limit the show to a one hour time slot once a week. Since this show has shown that it has a strong fan base, it would probably work well online. That said, I believe, that this has more to do with money than ratings. Think about it, we fans get to watch for free, but the sponsors have to pay to keep the show going. Face it, reality TV is cheap. You don't have to pay cast much, if at all, and a show with a storyline requires actors, writers, directors, the whole shibang, and they all have to be paid. Hopefully the economy will recover soon, or maybe we the fans can start sponsoring our favorite shows.

My Own Worst Enemy is smart, exciting, and has me hooked. I love the plot twists, and all the secrets between the characters: Henry and Angie, Tom and Mary, Mavis and Trumble, Norah and Edward.... Everyone has the fantasy of leading a secret life filled with adventure, travel, and danger. My Own Worst Enemy is fun to watch because it allows that fantasy to play out, with all the action and drama we could dream of. This show is written and performed brilliantly. When I saw the season premiere, I thought Mike O'Malley wasn't the right choice to play Raymond, but I was so wrong--the dedication of all the actors to their characters is a satisfying surprise. This show has the potential to run for years, and I hope that it does. There aren't any other shows on television now that I can compare to My Own Worst Enemy, so if it goes off the air, I'll have to go back to getting my fill of secret agent adventure from reading Brian Haig books and watching movies like The Bourne Identity, which are in short supply. Please keep this show on the air as long as possible, it makes a lot of dedicated fans very happy.

Please, some other network pick up this show! I would rather watch it on another network anyway, as I am done with NBC. I agree with everyone here. NBC is making a huge mistake by canceling great dramas like My Own Worst Enemy and replacing them with Jay Leno five nights a week. They haven't even kept up with their other networks, (Bravo, USa and etc.) If this deal with Jay Leno goes through and NBC cancels most of their dramas...they, and all their affiliates will have lost my viewership. Real crap has NO problem finding its way on an NBC schedule.
Just show-up to pitch meeting with a bimbo and bribe money.
Tell them the show is cheap to do and a lot of it gets shot in or around a swimming pool with all the young girls showing plenty of skin.
Or, tell them you got something that's just down-right disgusting.
But, it involves chicks in bikinis competing for prize money.

For almost a full year before Nov. 4 I had been working on a few friends political campaigns and had no personal time. On Nov. 4 there was nothing more to do than wait. so, while I waited. I watched two full episodes online. I also have a full time job as a Sacramento lobbyist, so I have no personal time. I also work weekends.
I record the show. Why? Because of what little free time I do have I am willing to spend the time to watch the show!!! The only two other shows I ever make room for is HardBall with Chris Matthews (for work) and Project Runway.
Why is NBC going to kill one of the best shows they have?

yeah, we need to get this show back!!! It was one of the few shows I have on my DVR that I can't wait to see. It was a great series!! I mean, come on guys, at least give it the chance by putting it on different days, different time slots. This show rocks. I just read somewhere else that Knight rider got a second season. Are you kidding me??!!! That show defenitly doesn't deserve a second season...especially over MOWE

I'm going to make sure my TV is OFF on Monday's from 10-11.
Let the Nielsen's notice THAT.
Did you notice, a new Janus email went out after the show ended...........
does this mean the onling thingy is still going to happen?

Well, I just have to say I was shocked when I found out ! Then I used the NBC link (- thanks to all posters who put that up -) to email following letter....
It may not do much but there are people all over the world that watch this show !
Hi There NBC from Australia!
Being Australian we don’t often get exposure to the amount of fantastic shows you Americans do. So in recent years I have been finding fabulous shows online, for example My Own Worst Enemy, Lipstick Jungle, Life and Heroes being my favourites.
Having been a lifelong fan of Christian Slater’s; when I heard about the show and the concept being so UNIQUE - I just had to watch it. I have been absolutely hooked ever since....
I thought there would be no way that it would be axed (How wrong was I ?) Seeing Alias was no longer around; an edgy spy show was NEEDED!
Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please (That’s 9 - one for every episode I have seen)
Don’t cancel the how!!! Especially with how you have ended it – WOW what a cliff-hanger if ever I saw one. I was speechless.
Thanks again for taking the time to read my email (well I hope you do).
Kind Regards,
From Australia

I share your frustation. This is the most interesting show on NBC; in fact, one of the more interesting shows this year. And, it's the only NBC show I watch other than football. It has been cancelled before it catches on--NBC should realize a good thing when they have it. Well, I guess more of the same reality crap, dancing and singing, and Jay Leno. I guess I have to move on to Monday Night Football or Bill O'Reilly.

this show is too original to let go of but you'll keep a sad sack of an old show that in my own opinion is absolutely horrible. Please NBC show a little gumption and keep this show going.... and cancel knight rider, do us all a favor
I frigging agree!
