Ok, yeah, there's a lot of people focusing on the bad things about last week's episode. But what about the
good things?
Phil and Amy P. are doing amazingly well at home
Stacey was A-W-E-S-O-M-E on the stairstepper
Amy C looked out for herself
It was good to see ALL the at-home contestants again
Michelle and Renee seem to be getting along great
Bob and Jillian are still amazing trainers
Lives are still being transformed, thanks to the show
I'm sure there are more - what else can you think of?

I like that the black team so far has kept quiet to all the craziness and stayed positive.
Amy C is playing the game that way it should be played.
Jillian is getting tough!!! I love it when she yells. I dvr the show and workout to it and pretend it is me she is yelling at.

Good things, besides what's already been mentioned:
That "banana split" looked really good. Might have to go get me some.

Between that and the visit to Subway, the show was making me hungry, lol.
Jerry missing the return because of work, and not because of injury/illness. His at home weigh-in was a nice moment.
Good for Ed for completing the stairstepper challenge when he was both opposite a more experienced stairstepper and in obvious physical distress.
Despite landing below the yellow line, Michelle still lost 6 pounds, which in the "real world" is pretty good!

Amy C made me proud for 2 reasons last episode.
1 - winning Bob's challenge even though the prize seemed unworthy.
Just goes to show you should always give it your all and not just be in it
for a prize. I love seeing people give 100% - just because they can.
Winning is it's own reward. Good job Amy!
2 - voting her own mind for whatever reasons and not being swayed by the crowd.
Phil & Amy C have made me proud by handling things tastefully.
Phil walked away which at that time was the right move:)
Coleen I am routing for every week. I can't help it. She's doing an amazing job and has the
right attitude to win the biggest loser and continue on after.
Stacey is amazing! I was happy to see all the contestants look like they've been working hard
at home.
Ali - still looks amzing on her visit & that means she's kept up the hard work after TBL.
So glad to see her looking so happy! She's a true inspiration.
Michelle & Renee seem to have bettered their relationship and they both seemed to
have grown right before our eyes.
There are still many many positives - it's easy to lose site of them with the nonsense that's been
going on, but they're there!

I actually thought there was a lot of positive moments this week. It was the first episode that I've really enjoyed in a while. Here's my list:
Amy--listening to Mom and going with her heart. Working hard and reaping the rewards.
Shellay--being a good mom and really talking to her daughter about resisting the negativity and being a good role model.
Stacey--being so affected by the negativity in the house and mentioning that she didn't know what happened to all of them and she wasn't sure she wanted to come back. being proud of herself for coming so close in the challenge.
Phil--standing up to the crazies not for himself but because they had hurt his wife's feelings. He's a good person and he took their mess when it was directed at him but stood up for himself when he saw it was affecting his wife.
Ed--poor thing, I think he dodged 2 heart attacks in this episode and he didn't really seem to be drawn into the negativity like the rest of his friends.
The dynamics of the house have shifted with Brady being sent home...hopefully the black team (including Amy) will be able to withstand the psychotic antics and come out stronger for it.

Life lessons:
There are always bad apples but focus on the positive of life. The vast majority of the contestants are brave, wonderful and inspirational.
Even when dealing with fear - making the right decisions will always pay off. (Amy)
Focus on the positive and not the negative. If negativity becomes your focus - you will fail.
Bob and Jillian are fantastic teachers. Pay attention and we will all learn from them.
Stacey was AMAZING. Talk about focus! Don't ever think they guys have an advantage, because the girls can kick some b***!
Coleen - was so sad her dad wasn't able to come back to the Ranch. I really felt bad for her - but she stayed focused on her goal.
The relationship between Michelle & Renee has developed before our eyes. Even with painful splits, forgiveness can pave the way to happiness.
This is a great season for The Biggest Loser, you just have to look a little deeper.

it continues to be an inspirational light in a sea of race-to-the-bottom television broadcasting. there really isn't much else like it out there. that is the biggest positive i can think of and a huge accomplishment. especially for a show that could easily exploit the 'contestants'.

Coleen's video from her dad got me a little teary eyed, I think Jerry was such a sweetie, and I love the way he is trying so hard to make his daughter proud. Coleen's monster seven pound loss, even with being such an itty-bitty.
Amy C. making a smart gameplay move. I know a lot of people don't like gameplay (although no one seemed opposed to this one), but I still appreciate that it's a game, and getting a threat out of the house was a good move for her. There aren't five spots in the final 4.
Ed and Stacey's kick-butt preformance in the challenge. They just killed it, and you could tell they were both dying on the inside, but they both pushed past that pain and focused their energy. Not a lot of people can push themselves to the point they did, and I thought it was really amazing.

The last 2 shows has brought a gazillon new members to our forum!!
I admit... I was one of those new members who initially joined in order to vent my spleen at what I saw as horrid behaviour on the part of some of the contestants. But, as I sifted around this site, read threads and got to know it a little, I realised that this is a pretty nice place. Well moderated, respectful, and interesting. So, I decided to stick around.
I love TBL. Have since the first episode of the first season. While I haven't loved every contestant or their actions, I find the show to be uplifting, inspirational and just downright fun to watch. I am distressed by some of the shenanigans of this season, but I have no plans to strike TBL from my record list. I am hoping that the nastiness will be addressed, dealt with and the show and all of us who love it can move on.
I have a few faves, this time around. Phil and Amy. What a pair they are. And I liked Phil even more after he came roaring out like a lion in defense of his love. That is a real man for you.
Colleen won my heart the first episode and I continue to root for her. I really hope that she goes all the way.
Amy was strong when she needed to be. I wanted to cheer for her, both when she won the mini challenge and when she voted as she did.
Michelle and Rene are working so hard to change their lives and to reconnect and find that mother-daughter relationship, again. I can't help but hope, hope, hope that it all happens for them. (I do think it is time for Michelle to grow up a little, get over it and move on. She is an adult, now. She needs to be one.)
And who can forget Jerry? The changes he has made already. Nothing sort of wonderful. That man was on the verge of killing himself. Now, it looks as if he has a lot of good years to enjoy coming to him.

Welcome to the board Shermiegirl! I've loved TBL since the first episode too, and even though this season is kind of a drag, I still find a few positives in it. As long as Coleen and Amy C are still in it, I'm happy. They are the only two I like this season, although I'm starting to warm up to Ed and I thought Stacey was amazing in that challenge.
I have a question about the challenge. They did 1,000 steps up and down, and when they were at the mid-way point Ali said they had been at it for over half an hour, was that an exaggeration of the actual challenge time? Because I saw they way they were all pouring sweat and shaking, and I thought it might make a good workout, so I did 1,000 up and down steps yesterday. It took me 25 minutes for the whole thing, and I didn't do any of the sprinting that Ed and Stacey were doing. Was Ali exaggerating the time, or did they take a few rest breaks that didn't get shown? It really did look like Ed and Stacey were practically running and I know there is no way I was going that fast.

Having two boys myself, I know it is a constant holding of the breath for mothers.
Right now mine are on a road trip, in a van, with 5 other boys, all the way from Tucson to Minneapolis for a concert! None of them have driven in snow or ice, and only one of them has driven the van before. Yet, they are all taking turns driving, around the clock for two days each way.

Also, I understand the excitement Colleen had when she tried on her goal shirt. I had never heard of that before, but it's a great idea. (I may go buy myself something! lol)
She said it was a MEDIUM. I, too was in XL or XXL and it's cool to be a "medium". It seems that medium for a women is "normal" or perhaps "average." For someone who was referred to as "obese" most of their lives, it's nice to be "average"!
Colleen is precious. Can't wait to see her too at the Finale.

Coleen looks great and she was so happy to be exercising with Jerry!
I think she is a major threat for the $100,000!
I thought Heba was alot nicer this episode! I laughed at the expression Ed had on his face when he saw Allison get out of the vehicle!
Way to go Renee and Michele for losing eight pounds!

So many good things in this episode!
Coleen in her goal shirt, could that girl be any cuter? I was really sad to see her go, but she looks so smoking hot, I like her new haircut too.
Ed and his 80's shorts.

I was cracking up laughing the entire time, I'm so glad he's back, I forgot how funny he was.
Aww on Amy C. and Bob and her cutie 8 pound smile, I seriously think she's going to take it all the way.
The girls on the bikes were just freaking awesome, although I kept thinking of how very painful it would be if they slipped. Nothing like a sharp metal rod to keep your bottom in the air.
I thought the whole 80's week was funny, I hope they do fun stuff like that next season.
Overall decent episode, much better than the last few. There was still a little drama, but so much more positive stuff that it didn't completely take over the episode.

Agree with above comments. I really loved the Eighties twist, the trivia, the clothes, the music and old school workout routines! Bob and Jillian were hilarious and the contestants got so into it! I loved it, thought that was a nice switch from the cloak and dagger stuff. I really enjoyed the whole show last night and actually watched all of it for once.

I think
all the women looked great in their 80's workout attire.
Ed in short shorts, not so much!

Just sayin'...

I had to laugh when I saw Bob in the "Richard Simmons" style outfit LOL!
I actually expected it but didn't - kinda figured he "might" but then thought, nah, probably not...
and then they did show him! that was too funny
