My name is Melissa and I ask for 30 seconds of your time. I was struck with what I thought at first was a quirky idea however, upon considering the appeal it may hold for fans and in light of the recent NBC renewal, I have felt compelled to pass this thought along to you (and also have sent the idea to TPTB).

"Fantasy Fan Day" or if scheduled right "Fantasy Fan Friday"....

The 18-month renewal is a positive achievement for DOOL however the time frame does spark question and concern for viewers. Well, let's make it a fabulous 18 months whatever the future may bring!

Here is my thought. Through an introductory means (ie. contest etc), choose a fan to write one day's worth of scenes...your Days' dreams come true and, for the production/writing team whose eyes are bulging right now, it can all be wiped away through a dream sequence or a 'mass' hypnotism at the hands of evil Stefano Dimera! Can you imagine?! The classic soap cliches...the ultimate of Friday cliffhangers...one primetime promo to attract viewers who have strayed..it could be the most watched episode in years!

Think about what I put before you. I believe it holds merit as both an appealing 'recruiting' strategy and a fun, participatory experience for current invested fans.

That's a fantastic idea Mel!! I remember OLTL did a fantasy show and I loved it. It would be break from the norm and it would give viewers a chance to actually see what they want to happen on the screen. I really hope TPTB consider this idea. It's great.

This is a wonderful idea!! I think we should have a preliminary writing contest, and then all vote on who we think is the best.

Devil Doll I agree. Now I'm not a Sami and Rafe fan...I'm an EJami fan but hey if you will your fantasy of them can come true just like my thoughts of EJami.

Okay I have a question. Out of fairness to the different groups how about this idea. What if for instance catagories were picked, lets say one from the Lumi catagory, one from the EJami and one from the Safe? Every person in here knows thats been the biggest dispute so what if 3 different storylines were given to the powers that be and we let them pick the one they like the best and then noone feels left out from any of the groups?

I like this idea... and maybe the fan that wins could get a cameo on the show... like be in the pub and order a drink or something...

I totally get what you are saying but this is how we got suck with this crap in the first place. I think the 3 best ideas should be told to the viewers and the viewers should decide. They could do this by texting it or calling it in like they do with American Idol or something. Writers I love ya guys but right now I'm over the fairness crap. I say be fair to the loyal viewers that have watched this show. They are so many fans out there that want a Bo and Hope story, Kayla and Patch, Brady and Chloe, Phillip and Chole, heck they could do a Lucas and Marlena scene if they want. I say we have 18 more months. Let the fans REALLY enjoy the moment and let the fans decide.

LOL this is so funny. Here we are talking about this and the TPTB haven't even said they will do it.

Okay, I'm a little concerned after reading all the posts... all I see offered is Lumi, Ejami, and Safe? Are you talking about an entire episode dedicated to one of these couples...once a week? I think I already subscribe to that channel... only it's on a daily basis (at least it seems like it). Surely you'd allow those of us, who don't get to see their faves even monthly, to have our moments of glory too?

It's a contest we want TPTB to have. Fantasy Friday (one day) not Fantasy week or month. MelissaKY didn't say a particular couple she just said "one days worth of scenes". This could be a dream sequence. All she is basically saying is won't this be fun if this happened. We could have Stefano turn into a butler, EJ into a police officer, Bo into a doctor whatever the case may be. We could have all off the couples that have never really gotten to getter get together or better yet the couples that you barely see together on screen together. The key word is doing something that the viewers what to see but don't. Come on join in the fun. I don't want them to pull this thread because of negativity.

BTW I feel your pain so don't think I'm trying to dis ya.

If all were done just like this post says then yeah that would definately be the best way to go. Focus on the entire cast would be awesome. It'd be dope to have everyone all mixed up in different professions and different peoples lives.

That's okay! My wheels are spinning out of control with my ideas for Tony.... but this show has a 14+ rating, doesn't it? Oh well, script B will work just fine too.

This was my thought too. I wouldn't want to be subject to any more EJami fantasies anyway. I certainly wouldn't watch that day. I am also concerned in how the fan bases would interpret things. Who has the fantasy? If Sami has one about EJami, then they'll be no end to having to hear things like... see she really does love him! When it really is only one fan's version of things. I have to say no to this idea... sorry There's enough confusion in the show right now as it is.


Either that or any fantasy concerning EJ/Nicole/Lucas/Sami pairings should be strictly off limits.

Hah!...My mind is on the same character! He's definately gonna have a major role in my fantasy, I wonder if he can still fit in those brown leather pants he wore back in the 80's.

I say let Sami be a triplet and let her be with all the men LMAO. I just love the DiMera men. I want them to do something fun. The show is already messed up right now. What is one more day?? This could actually help the show out. They need the GA out there because right now more of us here are the 80/20.

This was my thoughts too which is why I mentioned dividing it in 3 catagories so its not based on couple preference instead of a fun storyline and good writing skills. It wasnt that I wanted so much for a specific couple to shine but rather just so the vote was done on what really looks like it would be fun to watch. I thought by having the powers that do the choosing that we might avoid that a little more then a straight vote from all of us would. But either way is fine with me I'd just rather see all or as many of the cast included as possible and not all based around one couple with just a few lines here or there from the rest. I agree it would be a good idea to put the EJ/Nicole/Lucas/Sami pairings off limits. I can find enough other fun stuff to write about with out it. Plus we see it every day as it is.

At the end of the day I think MelissaKY wanted to express the word FUN in her idea. We have 18 months before our beloved show might not be air again. I say let the viewers have their fun and get involve even if it is just for one day. How would it hurt anyone if it is done for fun. Heck I would love to see a scene where the writers are played out by the actors and they are talking about the characters. Shoot they can even do a parody on the characters.

So are we gonna do this or not? Are we waiting on something or are we suppose to set up a preliminary writing competition ourselves and then vote for who writes it or what? I wanna win this so I'm anxious to start!
