I was looking back at some old screencaps and I realized something.


It's been far too long since we've seen John in a nice tight pair of jeans!


It should be a crime!

Jeans are good, but tight jeans, even better. I was looking at old screencaps and I think I miss that most of all.

They get in slumps sometimes where he wears nothing but black and it bugs me. Just because their last name is Black doesnt mean he and Marlena have to wear it all the time people!

All he ever wears now is black suits. I miss him wearing colors and jeans. Red is his color. If he were to wear a red shirt and some tight jeans. He could be a total idiot, and I wouldnt care.

You know what I really liked on him? That light blue sweater he wore in the SpySchool clips (that's what they're called on youtube, anyway.) He looked so good in that! And that weird white tunic thing he wore when they hopped on his plane with Anna to go get Tony from the island. I liked that too.

There are tons of great examples of why John should be in jeans. But there's a clip from shortly after Marlena returns from the island, and he is talking to Kate in his office. I dont think those jeans could get any tighter or any sexier.

Jean are great,but I like John in a towel too,lol,there is a possibility of a slip,course they won't show anything,but thats what an imagination is for.

Their wilderness on the run scenes are some of my all time favorites. I love how conflicted John made Marlena while they were both thinking he was Stefano. One minute she's telling him she hates him, the next she melts like butter. Her heart was just trouncing all over her head. She soooo loved that man. They were meant to be.

I love the other unbuttoned jeans and the towel scenes too though.

And in case you didn't notice, not only was Drake being the adorable goofball that he is in that tattoo clip, but it was in 2005, so he was wearing tight jeans.

I liked him with Kate too. I think LK is a great actress, but it's the only time I've ever really liked Kate vs loving to hate her. I hate that they just dropped John and Kate's relationship as friends.

One of few times I remember him wearing something other than a suit, was on a date with Ava. And he was in a button up shirt and dress pants with a belt. Sure, it wasn't a nice pair of jeans, but it wasnt all black, it wasn't a suit, and he looked handsome. And I also thought his hair didn't look as bad when I watched the clips, so that's a plus.

The whole thing played out in two or three episodes, so I saw it a lot. But the caps were scarce around this time, so there weren't a lot of it, but I did find these:

That's because it had a lot more to do with Drake than LK. Or at least it does for me.

They have put John with so many women, and I have liked him with just about all of them. He just has so much chemistry with whoever you put him with, that he could make pretty much any pairing bearable.

I feel this way too. I think LK is also a wonderful actress. Whatever they tell her to do, she does well.

I adore John and Marlena, but I've always enjoyed him paired with others as well, given the circumstances. I didn't like Ava this year as a 'romance'. I bought her as an obstacle and as the only one giving new John a chance, but I wanted John and Marlena together. I really felt intentional bad writing of Marlena was forcing the Ava and John pairing, so I kinda gritted my teeth through it. I spent more time hoping Marlena would stop worrying about that disk and want to get to know the new John.

With Kate though, John thought Marlena was dead. I never expected Kate to help anyone selflessly, but she did help John, and he accepted her. They helped each other move on with their lives when they thought their loved ones were gone. I loved John and Kate being different even though I still rooted for Marlena to come back and reunite, with lots of John, Roman, Marlena, and Kate guilt. I never went for Marlena with Roman because she knew John was really alive, and I have never liked JT with DH as more than friends, even when he was Chris K. How that story turned into the North story, and they just completely dropped John and Kate as friends after all they went through, is still a mystery to me. I'd rather they had stayed friends with Kate eventually getting back with Roman.

Whether Roman or John, I've always liked Drake's chemistry, Deidre's too, I think that is why they are so amazing when they are together. I enjoy watching him interact with others like Bo, Stefano, Andre, Tony, Anna, etc. There's just something about these characters that gel when together on the screen.

Since we won't get our wish before John's exit, I feel the need to keep this alive.

Drake wore jeans a lot more as Roman than as John, seeing as he was a cop back then and a business man more recently. So any of these older clips are pretty much guaranteed to have him in jeans. But this one has the added bonus of him wearing red AND wearing that gun holster I love so much. So I thought I'd share yet again.
