I thought you might be interested. Drake_Cake on the sony board came up with the idea to fax Corday on 1/23/09 stating that I just watched Days for the last time. If we could get everyone to participate then he could physically see how many people are going to be tuning out because of his decision. If you could share this with your J&M and friends I would appreciate it. I would love to hit Corday hard one more time. You can fax for free at

Will that work if you have broadband and don't have a phone hooked up to your computer?
And why wait? Why not start faxing now? Even if Corday caves that day, it would be a while before they could get them back, and then for their SLs to start.

Definitely count me in; what's the studio's fax number? This is our last show as J&M fans to let Corday know that he blew it BIG time by letting Dee and Drake go for good. My last day of watching DAYS is the day that J&M leave town and I've been watching the show for 24 years.

This is called a paper blizzard. It will only be effective if it is done on a massive scale in a concentrated effort. The goal is to disrupt the business so much that it will make the needed changes.
I have posted some other contact information on my blog, including Sony Pictures, and GE. I don't have all the fax numbers, but I do have some phone numbers.

The effectiveness will depend on how many people are serious about keeping them and are willing to step up to the plate. A few dozen people or one peron sending a hundred won't make a difference. 60 an hour from people all over the country or all over the world all day long will tie up their fax line and get their attention. You gotta ask yourself, how important is it to you?

My goal here is not to get the DH's jobs back. They both deserve better than Days. Although if the decision to let them go was reveresed I would be happy. My goal is make Corday realize that his decision is going to have some major consequences and that is thousands of viewers are tuning out. So spread the word and post this on other sites. I would love to see all the faxes jam up. I want Corday to regret his decision. Remember it will only take a few minutes of your day and the more participants the better.

i've posted the information on my blog, which does get a little traffic. The more people who step up, the bigger the impact. We are the consumers--the customer of the product called Days of Our Lives, which means it is the producers--ei the seller to meet our expectations or risk us taking our business elsewhere. Corday Productions, Sony Pictures, NBC and GE are no different than the corner grocery story or car dealer. If they don't sell what you want or at a good quality, you shop elsewhere. That is the underlying message that we need to send.

Jiggs, I am not going to get into it, but as I stated before I loved J&M for years. I have not been a Marlena fan for this past year. I love Deidre in the character of Marlena.
This is all about Corday recognizing that he made a ridiculous decision when he decided to let go the two people who are the heart and soul of Days. You can be a John or a Marlena fan or a J&M fan, its about letting Corday and NBC know that you are no longer watching his show anymore.

I was putting a few clips of them on my blog and I came across a blopper reel that had Corday on it. John was going to be executed for killing Tony. Marlena was on the phone trying to find out if it had been stopped in time. Ken Corday walks in and says something about--he's gone. It's just you and me. Could it be that Ken has a thing for Deidre and is jealous of Drake. That Stefano's obsession with Marlena represents Ken's obsession with Deidre. Could that be the reason he keeps trying to kill off John? And Deidre's firing is Ken's realizing that it was never going to happen? Just playing devil's advocate.

I still think that if every Days fan faxed in, the DHs still wouldn't get their jobs back. It has nothing to do with how important it is to me. Just my take on Corday's decision. You're under the impression that they will be rehired if we somehow hit that "magic number" of faxes, or letters, or calls, or whatever campaign tactic you want to use when it isn't a foregone conclusion whatsoever.

Short of buying controlling stock in GE, which gives you control over NBC, Sony Pictures and Corday Productions there isn't a guarantee. However, having said that--I want to let Corday know that I am not happy with his decisions and that I will not settle for the crap they have been airing. He may control the show, but I control the remote. The short of it, speaking up and out is a good thing no matter what the results...if it happens to ruin his day--bonus points!

Someone put up that clip and a JM one and posed the same question on Youtube.
I'm not boycotting the show because Deidre and Drake are leaving, because I simply don't think it is fair to the rest of the cast and the crew who have vested their time into this show. But I certainly am not happy about this.
I wish you guys the best of luck in this campaign. I know it is more about making a point than bring the DHs back. So I hope you overheat some fax machines and tie up the phone lines for hours.

I also wish you guys the best of luck in this campaign. I honestly don't think it will matter to anyone. I won't boycotting the show just because they are leaving. I'm sad that it has come to this and only wish if they were going to write them off they would of done it with a big bang. I get ppl come and go but a little respect for the fans would of been nice. But they have been killing them off for a while now with lame s/l's.

One thing else to remember, no matter how angry or disappointed you are--be respectful and accurate. If you come across as out of control or illiterate, you will be discounted or ignored. However, if you concise with you wording, you will be taken seriously or at least more so than if you call Corday every nasty adult word you know--he may deserve it and it might feel good but it won't get you want you want. Tell them why you liked the both the couple and show. If you have watched for a long time, add that in. End by asking for the changes that you want. Remember to also include your full name and contact information--at least a phone number. It'll show the diversity of the complaints and prove that there isn't just a few with over active fax machines.

As the end nears, just a reminder to get your faxes ready. Consider faxing over the weekend just incase TPTB shut off the faxes on the 23rd. Also maybe a call to the NBC comment line letting them know you won't be watching anymore too wouldn't hurt. All numbers can be found on my site if you don't already have them.
One final note. Please keep in mind this is about Drake and Deidre. If you make reference to just John and Marlena you may give the dumb arse an idea to recast. We know that a recast would never work, but Corday is oblivious to what acutally works and doesn't, so I wouldn't put it past him.

Cutting off the fax line to their business would also end their abilty to send as well. A fax machine will keep trying until it goes through unless it is manually stopped. I also have the numbers on my blog, including the fax number to Sony, NBC and a phone number to GE--who owns NBC.

Mine fax went through to Corday Productions as well as NBC and Sony. If they had turned off the machine or it ran out of paper, I would have gotten an error message. Just so you know, I also called Jeffrey Immelt. The people in his office are very nice and cooperative.

Not that I am aware of. I don't know anyone who works there to find out. From what I have been reading on other boards, it looks like there where a lot of participants. Factor in the people who also faxed comments about the "farwell episode" I am sure they came into a mess on Monday. Yipee. If I hear anything I will post it here.

Their ending has definitely stirred things up. I wonder if it will make any difference once the dust has settled. Probably not. Until they get back to writing decent material for the actors, nothing will change. It doesn't look as if Corday has any plans to replace Higley. What a shame for the actors that are left. They should all start looking for other work now and leave on their terms instead of waiting for the ship to finally sink. Days is worse than Guiding Light these days. Now that is sad.
