How do we stop the tragic deaprture of John and Marlena??? This will undoubtly be the beginning of the end of "Days of Our Lives"!!! Can we all send in a dollar a day to keep the two cornerstone characters on this show? I certainly would. I've been watching this show for 41 years and I will be lost without it. Since Frances Reid is no longer able to appear, these are the longest running connected characters appearing on a consecutive basis! Please help stop the destruction of this wonderful, but not the "most popular" show! Most definitely, this show has the loyalest fan base of all the shows running, and I hope the network can see this. The lose of these two characters is certainly the demise of this show, as older fans will stop watching. But, then again, maybe this is what NBC is looking for?!?

I would do anything to keep Dee and Drake on the show. I will be done when they leave on the 23rd.

Twenty plus years ago, fans thought Marlena was dead from the Salem Strangler, Fans protested in front of the studio to bring her back. The writers then written it was her sister Samantha was murdered in not her.

so you get good number of people protest in front of the studio January 23 of departure of Deidre and Drake.

Send real letters to the studios. Send phone calls. Send Emails.

Yeah I want to know why they keep Maggie on there when she serves no purpose really, or other characters like Mary the annoying maid at the Dimera Mansion. I could prob name 5 other useless roles on the show. How about getting rid of useless characters and keep the ones who have MADE this show become one of the top soaps on NBC. It's basically the Writer's & Producer's fault that certain characters become lackluster. If they had put John & Marlena back together a year ago for petesake, and given them a good storyline for a change - I guarantee they would not even think of getting rid of them now!!

Maggie's character is not a high paid.

This maybe a ploy to boost the ratings when Days bring back John and Marlena back to Salem several months later.

Fans need to protest, writer letters, write signs, write emails, call often to NBC studio. March in front in of the NBC Studio about Deidre and Drake being let go, protest with signs and let them know in how you feel.

Stop watching on Jan 24. Tell everyone you know to stop watching. Contact NBC and tell them you will not watch until D&D are back. Plummet the ratings to the lowest point DOOL has ever seen. Write to every advertiser and tell them you will not buy their products until Days has been returned to it's pre-Jan 23 status. Boycott all of NBC and let them know why. NBC is already in the ratings basement, send them into the sewer. Hit them in the pocketbook!

I think it is too.. ratings are higher.

I'm just so sick about this, What the heck are they thinking? I too, have watched this show since it began, Where do I go to contact the idiots at NBC to let them know they are going to end up being cut off of the air without the great oldies that are so important to the story lines of this show, Oh I'm so furious about all this crap. Is it possible that their contracts are up and the stupid NBC won't give them what they deserve? I don't know, but I am going to go to the NBC site and email them a 100 times! UGH What a travesty this is, shoot , get rid of some of those that aren't worth a flip?

Hello, I have just joined this forum so that I, too may tell the producers of Days that I am so upset to learn of Marlena & John's exit from the show. I have watched this show since I was in Jr. High and I am in my 50's now. So, you know I have watched a long time. I have never joined a TV show forum before. But felt this was the last straw. How can you " fix something that's not broke"? If Marlena & John go the passion of this show is lost. I do not see the same passionate love from any other couple on Days. Just a lot of swapping of love interests. Chloe has been with every man in the show.. and Melonie is working it as well. At least Sami has put the brakes on for a while. And why rid of Phillip? He is one of the better actors. And please let Hope gain some weight. She is looking anorexic. I hope someone reads this post . I felt I had to express myself somehow. The right people may never see this, but I hope a lot of my new Days fan friends will and perhaps forward it to the appropriate people. Thanks.

Gosh. I think 100 percent of us are just sick over this. The show will never be the same without some of the oldies. I've watched it from the first year it was on. I'm just sick about D and D being let go. It's just not right.

This is so sad. Days without Marlena and John will sink! How can NBC do this. One of the last great soaps that is still on air and they are sabotaging it. Count me in on the fax campaign and anything else I can do to stop this horrific mistake. They were the reason I started watching it and I was always hoping that someday they could finally become a couple without being torn apart. I just may quit watching NBC all together if they take John and Marlena away from Salem. This means any show of NBC---I will call my Satellite provider and have them remove NBC from my channel line up. I think all Days fans should do the same.

All of the Jarlena fans are sick about the "retiring" of these two characters. Why would they rid the show of the most popular couple? Money? They could have not brought in all the characters they have to save money. We all all sick over this. Then TPTB kick Jarlena's fans with the ending they are giving us. At least let John or Marlena save each other and walk out both standing to see Belle. What a let down this has all been. I have watched for over 40 years and will no longer watch this mess of a show after 1/23. It sure seems Corday wants the show to fail by doing this. I hope he has many sleepless nights ahead of him.

I totally agree that John and Marlena should stay! Let's see, can anyone live without the Carvers?
