Full Version: Jim and Pam?
NBC > Primetime > The Office > The Scuttlebutt
xxlovejxx
In the beginning of the Office, Jim and Pam were adorable, even after they started going out, but now nothings happening. It seems like as soon as they got engaged, the drama stopped. The 3 main reasons I watch this show is to listen to Michael mess up conversations, listen to Dwight talk, and the cuteness between Jim and Pam. Suggestion? Have Jim protect Pam in some way. It sounds weird, but when Jim protected Karen from Roy in season 3(?), I was like, oh my god that was cute. I hope you take this into account. Like I said...Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

There shouldn't be any more 'drama' between Jim and Pam, they went through enough of that. But they writers haven't allowed their chemistry to show on-screen, for pretty much the entire season.

I agree. I wasn't sure about them getting together. But, after seeing them together I don't like watching the old ones when they aren't. I absolutely LOVE them as a couple and I totally agree they need to focus more on showing their chemistry together. I'm not talking like mushy stuff, but cute stuff around the others. I love seeing them have fun!

Ok, I mean, now that they're engaged, there's no will they won't they stuff. The whole relationship was distributed between seasons. Season 1, Intro to Jam Season 2, More info on Jam (and we all about that famous casino night kiss) Season 3,what will happen with Karen in the picture now? Season 4, Jam relationship Season 5, Will you marry me? What will happen in Season 6? The wedding? Then what about Season 7? Jam is going down if we don't get some more susspence. And belive me, I hate to say it!!! sad.gif

PB+J FOREVER!!! wub.gif

Yeah, it's like they got engaged and now they're not partners in crime anymore. Of course that could be because we haven't seen much of them together at all, since the house episode.

Well maybe some of us have different views of drama laugh.gif
I think that Roy,Karen,Casino Night,Beach Games,Long distance,Pam's family stuff is alot of drama for these 2,and knowing the writers they've probably got more cooked up for those 2 sly.gif

I've watched the whole series from beginning to end 3 times. I've come to the realization I have a hard time getting through the whole story line, even though I know what eventually happens. The engagement was kind of a closure for what I wanted to happen with them and now everything in their lives is perfect, especially after the pregnancy news. I think it would be a good time to start focusing on other characters and their lives, giving little bits here and there for Pam and Jim just to let us know they're still crazy for each other and fit so perfectly together. Maybe they could toy with her emotions with the pregnancy and give some conflict that way. I did read that we're going to see some life changes with the pregnancy. Maybe Pam will be forced to quit and be a stay-at-home mom while Jim possibly gets another promotion? Or maybe Jim will stay at home and let Pam work on her career in sales. They do have a house to fix up, remember. I just know I'm excited for the season and can't wait to see what happens between them.

My own opinion here, and I realize it won't be popular, but I say enough of the JAM stuff. The show is beginning to move even more out of "The Jim and Pam Show" mode and has given more of the previously obscure characters a more active, participating role in the show's main intrigue.

Now don't get me wrong, I love both Jim and Pam as individual characters. I love that they're happy and content and I don't mind it staying that way. Yes, I'd love to see them commit another hilarious, creative "crime" against Dwight together. That might remind the audience that they're still best friends and still have fun together. But, as stated, let Jim and Pam take the backseat for a while and keep giving the minor characters more personality-developing roles in the upcoming episode plots. I'd like to see Meredith and Creed team up together for something ridiculous. I can't get enough of Toby and Michael's "chemistry".

I want to see more of that and less of the JAM drama.

I have to vehemently disagree with this smile.gif I am glad there's no "drama" between Jim and Pam anymore. I would like to see them have more fun instead of being serious all the time. It does seem like they haven't played ANY pranks on Dwight lately, and I am extremely disappointed by that.

i agree jim and pam need to fight because even the happiest couples fight

They have entirely lost all their charm that used to be so enjoyable to watch! I still like Jim individually (and sometimes Pam - though she's being kind of snooty lately) but their relationship is boring, and for me distracting from the rest of the show. Not that I want them to be unhappy, but I just don't see the point of adding a baby and a wedding so quickly when the beginning of their relationship was more drawn out and fun.

In college my entire dorm floor used to sit around and watch the Office every Thursday, and I am the only one who continues to watch the show because everyone lost interest due to Jim and Pam. This makes me sad because I want the Office to succeed!

The old episodes are the best, in my opinion. The flirtation, the angst, all of it. I'm so bored and annoyed by Jim and Pam together now. I'm sorry, but the writers screwed the pooch on this one. lol
It seems to me that a lot of the fanbase is disappearing, and it's becoming a show with a predominantly female fanbase because of all this mushy, lovey, happily ever after stuff. I still enjoy the show (most of the time) but they must do something with these characters. I don't want to see a happily married couple in every episode. Not only is it boring, it's unrealistic.

I agree, but I think they should show more relationship. What I mean is like have them go out and like lay on a towel and watch the starts or something. I just dont want them to stop there relationship story line. What do you think?

There should always be drama. Nobody wants to watch a show (or a movie, or read a book, etc.) about happy people with no conflicts. And more importantly, there should be humor. The past couple of shows haven't been terribly funny, which I don't understand, because I've always thought The Office was the funniest show on television.

Yea they need drama. Now that Pam is pregnant they should have drama where Roy tried to Win Pam back and comes around cause he thinks thats his baby. I dont want them to split or anything I am just saying.

I just though of something. They might have it to where Michael goes out with Pam's Mom for a bit and that sturr up drama for Jim since hes Co-Manger as well.
