Now that J&M are leaving, they've finally gotten some meaty storyline to sink their teeth into - together! He remembers, they're back together, married again, etc... SO much potential for a great storyline! Marlena will help John recover from paralysis. Brady would play into this too since he knows exactly what his dad is going through. John could invite EJ over for a tea party to tell him he forgives him for shooting him in the head and running him over with a car and killing him... okay well, maybe not that part. But you know what I mean? J&M could finally have something interesting to do! Just think of all the angst and kissin we're gonna miss. Damn you Ken Corday.

They could have had good storylines all along. Apparently, to have John and Marlena on screen, they have to pay them and TPTB didn't want to do that. Instead of using them to their full potential in John getting his memory back, they hire more newbies. Even if they had not been fired, we would still have bad writers who do not care about using all their history. I just wish they would have let Drake and Dee write their own ending story. I guarantee you we would have gotten what we have all been wanting since his coma two years ago.

Why have so many characters in this show that mean nothing? What about Kimberly and Shane's children? Jack and Jennifer's Abby should have been recast. This is the story of the Horton's and Brady's. We have actors on this show that don't do anything. When was the last time the Salem PD solved a case? Why bring in a character named Daniel. If they wanted to use the actor, make him a recast of Mike Horton. Where is Shawn and Belle? This writers and Corday have turned our beloved soap into a joke.

In order to bring back Mike Horton, or anyone else for that matter, that would mean the writers would have to learn that character's backstory and it just doesn't seem like they give a rat's @$$ about actually learning who these people ARE! It's infuriating! We all know how awful Marlena has been written this past year. All the lost potential is a testament to their complete lack of effort and ability.

They wouldn't even be in this mess if they knew how to do that.

And I have to agree with you Soozn. This could have so much follow-up story it's unbelievable. Leave it to the writers to make the ending crappy and yet the most interesting part of the entire storyline at the same time. As a starting point, it's got potential, but as an ending to a 23 year history, it just sucks.

That's a fact.
