It was mentioned in a commercial, but doesn't come up.
During the pilot episode Mike said to go to www.knightindustries.com to find out more about his past. I tried the link several times during and after the show, but it didn't come up. Did I miss type the url? Are there too many people trying to open the page at once? Or did they forget to put the site up in time for the episode?
Anyone else able to access the site?

I tried the site also, it doesnt seem to be an existing site. I wonder if theyre still in the works of getting it up and running?

I got the same info, went to the American Two-Way web site, it's 2-way radios and medical alerts. Looks like they've owned knightindustries.com since at least 2003. Why would NBC or the producers of Knight Rider be so stupid as to cite this site without owning it first?
I also tried other variations and a Google search, nothing relevant. Oh, and the show was lame, had to throw that in. The only reason I watched was because of the Mustang, which was ridiculous...

I guess NBC was hoping that good internet could save bad TV...
I tried it too. I guess we'll just never understand this half-assed, bogus attempt at a storyline.
I'm insulted, NBC. And you should be ashamed.

Off the main NBC Knight Rider site, there is a link to
http://www.knightindustriesresearch.com/I can't figure out the password, but I am sure it has to do with the show, or a clue in teh show (ie, the agent's password).
I'm curious about it as well..

already tried that when the girl called up and said codename shining armor
was trying to read the computer monitor when that one girl (i'm horrible with names) was on the computer looking through Micheal's files while KITT was undergoing diagnostics or whatever the lasers are. She had a log in and password but i couldn't make out what they were because of clarity problems

No user name and password combo will work right now. In the web page code, the popup alert is the only thing that happens when you click Log In. It currently does not attempt to verify a user name and password or direct you to another page.

so your saying the site just isn't up yet
makes sense but then why would they already advertise it

That's another ridiculous thing about the premier. They obviously couldn't even get the name of the site right. Secondly if it's the other site knightindustriesresearch.com and they goofed the promo why would they send you to a site you can't get into. Hate things like this; that's why I'm seriously considering quitting Heroes. It gets to the point where you can't enjoy or follow the show without going to 60 different online sites; getting texts etc.

I agree about the site. They cited it wrong on the air but it actually is the research site. However, despite all attempts, either there is a secret way in or it is not up yet.

JavaScript is executed upon pressing the "Log In" button that makes that popup come up. Disabling JavaScript won't help you. The site doesn't react whatsoever to the field. So, no there is no secret way.

I have this ad on my dvr. He never says "knight industries dot com" ever. He says "want to know more about Michael Knight? Visit the Knight Rider site at NBC.COM". He never officially names a url besides that of NBC.com and refers only to the Knight Rider site. I just watched this a second ago to be sure.
I did also see the Knightindustriesresearch thing and I am shocked they would mention this before the site is ready. That is in poor taste and smacks of bad communications. It's fine to make a front-side of a site live, thats one thing. But as long as you don't ANNOUNCE it to anyone you're usually fine, since most people would realize that nobody's mentioned it yet, they would just figure its not ready yet but almost is. You set up a front door early, then you develope the full website before you allow any access to it, and once its ready, code the gateway in and THEN you announce it publicly.
This needs to be addressed in another psa during commercials or before/after the show. It would only be professional and respectful to all viewers.

Ok NBC needs to fix all the issues with the goto this site, why would you post a site with no clue how to access or seeing goto michaelknight.com or something, come get your cards ready before you post or do a tv commerical.

seems like the stuff in the syringe looks like the same stuff they tried to use in the pilot episode on Sara. He did say when he was going to inject her that this would be very painful.

Personally, I like the fact that the show didn't spoon-feed all the info to log onto the site. Rather, clues were dropped over a few weeks time. Hopefully, there will be more clues to come for more features in the near future.

Just for your information, please refrain from calling "Knight in Shining Armor" the Pilot Episode.
It is NOT. It is the first official episode, that is all. I realize fully that most show's first episode IS the pilot,
but that is not the case with this series. Maybe you did or did not know, but there was a movie in Feb of this year
and K.I.T.T. was different in it, and that movie itself was the pilot.
A Pilot is either a first episode or a made-for-tv movie created for the sole purpose of pitching the show for a contract to the networks. Not all pilots are even aired, most get re-edited INTO a first episode, but some never see the light of day due to the changes that are made so the NETWORK is happy.
I hope that explains this for you. The episode you refer to you is technically the 2nd show.

It's really a bunch of nothing... unless they build on it. Just a quick, blurry clip of Mike under duress in what appears to be a desert... and then a message saying "Deleting Files". The site will probably improve as the show goes on... assuming of course it isn't pulled for lack of decency or creativity. While it is nice to have the show back it really doesn't need to have so much sex in it in my opinion. Anyway, I digress. PS, this last episode is a remake of an episode in the original series. I forget it off hand though.

If WEB SITES with additional information are mandatory for you to be able to enjoy a TELEVISION program, then something is wrong. With YOU. Seriously. So what if they didn't get the site up and running right. Who cares, the show still rules. You wanna drop Heroes because you have a problem with the web site? WTF?! Are you deficient? The show is still amazing and fun to watch.
