EXIT LIGHT, ENTER KNIGHT: Jan. 28, 2009.
Synopsis:
BAIT AND SWITCH--Mike jumps into the thick of a bank heist and tries to stop it, but instead becomes one of the robbers' hostages. Oddly, the robbers do not seem interested in the bank's money. Apparently, they have a specific plan that includes the safe deposit boxes and the husband of one of their hostages. Unable to communication with KITT and his team, Mike tries to enlist the help of the other hostages to stop the robbers from escaping. Unfortunately, one of the so-called hostages is one of the robbers, which makes Mike's job even more difficult.

This episode was originally filmed as episode 17 - the "season finale."
On the set of "Exit Light, Enter Knight," GST shot a video message to fans. Transcript:
"Hey Knight Rider fans, Gary Scott Thompson here. We are on the set of episode 17 which will be the season finale. So far we have expended about 4000 rounds of ammunition, which is lying all over the ground, you can see all these shot up cars. We have a really great season finale for you."
"The show is not cancelled. We're doing a reboot and, a lot of folks don't know this, but NBC not only cut costs by cutting episodes, which they did on a bunch of shows. They also just laid off 750 people yesterday in their production offices and their other offices. So this is a cost-cutting measure, it is not a cancellation measure."
"So ... Writing letters, though! Write a lot of letters to NBC telling them that you want Knight Rider back. To Ben Silverman at NBC!"

I must say....this was the best episode yet by far! If all of the episodes were this well executed, then I don't think there would be any danger of the show being canceled.

We really liked this episode!! Ok, a few things - the ending seemed to have ended abruptly. What happened to the girl? What about the guy? What about the guys in the sewer - did they get away? We needed some closure on those things i think. And - there were too many commercials ESPECIALLY ones that were catering to 80's children! ehem.
Less commercials - more closure.

Overall, It's an A rating episode!

Well... I have to say that I'm pleased with the episode. This was another of those weird episodes where KITT wasn't prominent, but it was set up well enough that I didn't miss it. A few tidbits from me.
'Yes, Michael... snap... ' That was Gold.
The girl, Maggie, was Gold.
The twists in this episode were done VERY well... you really hadn't a clue what was happening until close to the end. And they didn't give the mastermind a background; he was the bad guy for one ep., and therefore didn't need one.
Not only is this the second episode in a row that KITT isn't prominent, but is also the second episode in a row that Attack Mode wasn't used. Maybe they're trying to tone that down.
I like the flow of these last two episodes better... add a bit more action and car time to the next one, and I'll be smiles.

This episode was GREAT! It was definitely more solid than previous episodes.
I'll agree with other posters in saying I'd like to see more action with K.I.T.T.
But the story was great, wasn't cheesy, and I'm enjoying the increased interaction with K.I.T.T and Mike.
Keep it running NBC, it's turning into a great show!!!!!!!!!

Actually, there was one little part I didn't like about the episode... the electric mopeds. Here's the only chase scene we have in the episode, and they're riding the motorcycle equivalent of Segways.

I especially liked how KITT worked as Michael's partner in this episode. Good teamwork from Sarah, Billy and Zoe as well.
I thought Mike's hand-to-hand fighting skills were awesome.
And KITT's cornering to and from the hospital was some cool driving.

LOL! I can't believe none of you have seen "Inside Man"! Read my post... nobody thinks this episode is plaigarism??? Or at least a completely uncreative, unoriginal idea?
Really?
THE INSIDE MAN begins with Dalton Russell (Clive Owen) narrating his plight in the confines of an undisclosed cell, musing about the difference between a cell and a prison. Shortly afterwards, he begins in narration to describe the "perfect" plan for a bank robbery.
In flashback, a group of robbers, dressed as painters and utilizing aliases under variants of the name "Steve", are led by Russell into a bank. The group promptly disables the security cameras before brandishing firearms and taking over the bank, moving customers and staff into the basement where they confiscate all cell phones and keys. One of the hostages attempts a bluff but Russell sees through it and delivers him a beating. The robbers force all hostages to change into painter uniforms and blindfolds, making them nearly indiscernible from the robbers. They then lock the hostages into several rooms, periodically rotating them and introducing other robbers into the groups to further disorient the hostages.
Meanwhile, the police arrive and surround the bank. Detectives Keith Frazier (Denzel Washington) and Bill Mitchell (Chiwetel Ejiofor) introduce themselves to Captain Darius (Willem Dafoe) and briefly discuss the situation.
Meanwhile Arthur Case (Christopher Plummer), chairman of the board of directors and founder of the bank, hires fixer Madeleine White (Jodie Foster) to try to arrange for the contents of his safe deposit box at the bank to remain secret. Frazier starts to suspect that Russell may be attempting something else rather than just taking all of the money. He makes a call to Russell asking for more time to organise the plane but actually to find out what his plan really is, Russell decides to trust him and gives him a question that if he gets it right he will give him more time. After solving it succesfully Russell asks for the cops to bring sandwiches to assure the robbers they can not be bugged. White meets with the mayor, then manipulates Frazier to let her talk to Russell. Mentioning the special interests she wants to protect, she persuades Russell to let her enter the bank to talk. When White requests access to the safe deposit box, Russell shows her a document bearing a swastika symbol, suggesting that Case received money, enough to found his bank, from the Nazis during World War II for unspecified services that resulted in Jewish deaths,Russell makes a point in saying "All lies they stink, you can cover them up for a while but they dont go away".After assuring Russell that Case will make him a very wealthy man if he is able to escape the bank with this document, White leaves.
Attempting a bluff, Frazier informs Russell that the plane he demanded is ready but he needs to know that all the hostages are safe before letting them leave. Russell allows him to enter the bank, and Frazier is given a tour of the building. As they check the hostages, they discuss the situation, and also Frazier's desire to propose to his girlfriend, something which Russell suggests he should do regardless of finances. Upon exiting the bank, Frazier attempts to overpower Russell, only to fail when another robber comes to Russell's aid. Russell still lets Frazier leave unharmed with seemingly no repercussion for his attack. Frazier tells his colleagues that he intentionally tried to provoke Russell, but as Russell did not harm him, he believes that Russell is not a killer.
Soon after, the robbers call and direct the police to point their cameras to a specific window on the second floor where they show the apparent execution of a hostage. An enraged Frazier confronts Russell again, demanding to know their true intentions. Russell simply replies that Frazier is "too damn smart to be a cop" and closes the door on him.
The hostage incident prompts the ESU team into action, and they plan to raid the building, intending to use rubber bullets to knock everyone out. Frazier, however, realizes that the written message Russell sent out has a transmitter inside it. He orders Captain Darius, in command of police on the scene, to recall his men, but Darius ignores him.
Inside the bank, Russell overhears the conversation between Darius and Frazier and is alarmed that the police plan to move in. The robbers detonate smoke bombs throughout the bank and release the hostages, leading to a horde of identically dressed people exiting through the smoke in a mass of confusion. The police detain and interrogate everyone. However, due to the robbers' earlier pretence in the bank, Frazier is unable to identify any of them, including Russell, who is missing. No money was stolen and no people were killed or seriously injured, as the hostage execution was faked. The weapons left behind were merely toy replicas, leaving it as if the incident never occurred, prompting Frazier's boss to bury the case.
Frazier however keeps searching the bank's records and finds that safe deposit box #392 never appeared on any records since the bank's founding. He obtains a search warrant from a judge to open it. He is then confronted by White, who informs him of Case's dealings with the Nazis. She also tries to convince Frazier to drop his investigation, reminding him that she has held up her end of her deal with him (guaranteeing his promotion, and returning money he was implicated in stealing prior to the events of the movie). He refuses, pointing out that he had agreed to no deal, and using a James Bond-style recording pen to replay their conversation.
White confronts Case about his dealings with the Nazis, in which he confesses everything to her. He also reveals that the safe contained diamonds, including a Cartier ring, belonging to a Jewish friend whom he allowed to die at the hands of the Nazis in exchange for money. He is remorseful for what he did, and had thus led a life of philanthropy and humanitarianism to try to assuage his guilt.
It is then revealed that Russell hid himself behind a fake wall erected inside the supply room (literally, the "inside man"), where he was narrating the story at the beginning of the movie. He emerges a week after the "robbery" was committed, deliberately bumping into Frazier (who does not recognize him) along the way. Russell is picked up by his associates, and is presumably never caught. Russell's associates ask him for the ring, and Russell reveals it is in good hands, namely Frazier's.
Frazier opens the safe deposit box to find the Cartier ring and a message, "Follow the ring." He confronts Case, informing him of his desire to investigate the ring. He finds White, telling her that the ring was linked to Case's past. He offers White the pen with the recording, and gives her a card to have the Office of War Crimes Issues at the U.S. State Department look into the situation.
After his final encounter with White, Frazier goes home and finds a diamond in his pocket, realizing that it must have been put there by the man he bumped into in the bank. As the movie ends, it is implied that Frazier will use the diamond to propose to his girlfriend.
...
Besides a bank robbery and safety deposit boxes, I see a whole LOT of difference between this film and the KR episode. Bank robbers kidnap a woman to force her husband to cut the city power grid. They disguise a mob lawyer as a bank robber to get him inside the building. Bank robbers fire off thousands of rounds of ammo in a prolonged firefight with police. A guy outside the bank just buying coffee ends up rescuing a little girl and a wounded police officer. The same guy, claiming to be an undercover DEA agent, goes into the bank, becomes a hostage and with the help of his high-tech friends from FLAG, eventually saves the day. But not before the bank robbers nearly escape in a complex series of tunnels they dug before the robbery - and they blow the bank sky high. Oh yeah, there was a TALKING CAR that fired LASER BEAMS and DROVE ITSELF. The Inside Man had none of that.

Best episode to date. I have no complaints.
Now, at one point, KITT had program issues and used a contraction. Apparently they didn't fix it completely, for he used the word "I'm" in this episode. Doesn't bother me at all.. unless later on they question it. Just keep it cannon.
I was hoping for a Turbo Boost over the homeless guys and when Michael came out of the sewer right behind them, I was thinking YAY - car chase. Sadly, didn't happen.
Still, this is the direction KR needs to keep going in.

Okay, I hate for my first posting to be negative, because I really like this show, and hope NBC finds a way to save it, but I have to go geek on this one:
In the beginning, Mike puts the little girl into Kitt, a bulletproof, armored vehicle that can drive. Then, he /runs/ over to the little girl's mother, unarmed, by himself. Dude, why didn't you just get into Kitt, /drive/ over to mom, and throw her in the car too?
Later in the episode, the bank robbers tell the lawyer essentially, give us the passwords or we'll blow your nuts off after telling him to give them the passwords or they'll blow his head off. If I'm the lawyer, I'll respond with, "if you blow my nuts off, I will go into shock, and there's no way you get those passwords then. Your plan is ruined; game over. If you kill me, same deal. So I'd watch what you do with me." You could say the lawyer is a coward and wouldn't go that far, but IMO, you have to establish that. IMO, if you /do/ play it that way, think of how much more interesting the episode becomes, as it would be if mom isn't in the bank either, as she's a big part of their plan. In fact, you wanna be creative and save this show? Tell the story from the /robbers'/ perspective, and how this job is botched. Moreover, make it a chase plot, ala DIE HARD or UNDER SIEGE - the plan was perfect, but they didn't plan on Mike being there, so now it's a cat and mouse game to kill him.
Mike texts Sarah's /phone/? Kitt doesn't have a number that receives texts? Neither does their command center?
It takes them /all episode/ to figure out that it's about the girl's father, even /after/ talking to the girl? That was the /first/ thing I thought of!
My question is, who the Hell wrote this episode? (Sorry, didn't pay attention at the beginning.) Dude, this show is on life support! Last thing you need is for the geek community to be able to pick this thing apart! I know, I know, you think that with Deanna Russo and so on that this thing has a mainstream audience, but come on. "Knight Rider"? The average person laughs just at the thought of it - that's why "Team Knight Rider" only lasted a season. Your primary audience is hardcore geeks (like me), or fans of the old show (like me). If the show rocks, /they/ will expand your audience, because they'll tell all of their friends and coworkers (who do trust geek opinion) to watch it. Win them, and you've got something. But phone it in like this and you're done.

Kahn, you make some good points. I watch this show and laughed my ass off.
1st - The robbers crawl into the bank and use the majority of their ammo shooting up the city block. Why doesn't KITT use some of his lasers and wepons to pick some of these guys off.
2nd - Why walk the lawyer into the bank at all, beat the info out of him before going in
3rd - What was SWAT going to do when they were all taking aim at the bank, were they going to shoot it up like the old west and kill all of the hostages. Good thing KITT was there to make up voices.
4th - Can't Mike use a gun and waste some of these guys, Walker Texas Ranger is off the air, hold on to the gun and shoot, stop all the karate all the time.
I was hoping this new Knight rider would be a little more bad ass.

I was thinking that also but going up stairs would be hard on any car. Now transforming into a truck would be tricky becuse there a whole load of cops out there. You could also have Kitt turbo boast into the bank but that out of the question the bombs would fo exploded and everyone but the Girl and kitt would be dead.
I think the show was great.
I think if they could of added humor with the hurt cop or Doctors getting the kid and cop out.

To some of the previous questions.....
1. The mom was up some steps in a tight area, Kitt could drive up there, but chances are when he opened his doors, the little girl would be exposed to potential gun fire. Then, Consider the editing of the show; in real life, all those actions probably took as much as a full minute to happen.. if that. We had to see the actions of different characters and different view points to get the idea of all that was happening.
2. I prefer that Michael and KITT find non-violent ways to solve these events. Going in guns blazing and killing the bad guys is not the KR way. Sure, theyve done it in the past, but i feel that takes away from the show.
3. KITT could have taken them out with lasers, but again, Michael made a quick decision to go for the girl, to save her before anything else. Unlike us, who can watch and re-watch and evaluate what to do in a pinch, the characters are written to act fast.
4. We sit here and see the angles from KITT< the girl, the robbers, Michael and the Kitt cave. None of them have all the angles, so figuring it out right away is easy for us; not for them.
5. Texting Sarah provides the same results as texting KITT or the command center. Everyone is made aware, plus KITT was able to respond to the texts quickly.
6. I think it was easy to establish the Lawyer was a coward. Also, wasn't the lawyer's mouth taped? How could he say all that if it was? I could be wrong about that, but in the end, the plot point was just part of the story.
Still, a stronger story then many of them.

First of all, great episode! I think part of the fun of this version of Knight Rider is the same as the fun of watching Star Trek: TNG. You can pick it apart and find the flaws and then complain about them. It gives us a chance to feel like we are smarter than the writers, and it keeps us coming back for more.
The main thing I noticed about this episode is that KITT's cover is completely blown. First, he pulls up in front of the Emergency Room with a little girl behind the wheel and an injured cop in the passenger seat. Nobody even comments on the girl driving, and nobody worries about how to move the car, or why it drove itself off.
Then the gunman tells the woman to call her husband. He tells her husband to turn on the tv, any channel. Obviously the news has responded to the scene and is televising the whole thing.
When the hostage is released and then shot in the back, KITT gets between him and the guns so that the SWAT can save him. At this time, the cameras would be on KITT, and he would have surely held their attention. "Who was driving the car that saved the guys life?".
Later, when Michael is dressed as a gunman and sent out with the hostages, KITT is firing bright red lasers across the scene, first at the SWAT snipers gun, then at the gun taped to Mike's hands. The news would have been all over this story.
Somebody mentioned in a previous post that the lawyer could have told them that he would go into shock if they blew his nuts off and he wouldn't be able to give him the codes. First, if they threatened to blow my nuts off, I would tell them any codes they wanted. Second, it looked to me like they had already shot him in the knee, so he was probably already in shock.
I agree with the previous poster that Michael should not be armed most of the time. TOS rarely had Michael with a gun. When he did use a gun, it was usually after beating up a gunman and taking it from him. I would much rather see him use his martial arts skills along with his quick thinking to keep him on top.
And finally, I would like to comment on the text messaging. KITT can dial and receive phone calls, but it is possible that Michael couldn't remember the number. He may have remembered Sarah's number because he used to date her and probably called her from a pay phone in college. However, KITT was monitoring all calls made from the building. He knew when they were making calls from a satellite phone, but couldn't listen in because they were encrypted. He should have been able to detect the text message though. Once he was given the number, he was able to text directly to the phone, and even track it when they went into the tunnel.
The little girl was great. It did remind me of the original KITT when he was talking to her. I think the show could use more mothers in distress and their young children.
I really love the show. I record it when it comes on and I actually watch it twice in the same night. Then when my friends are over on Thursdays, I play it again, because they are always at work when it comes on.
I would like to ask a favor of the writers though. Please try to be more consistent with the rules. If you tell me KITT can fire lasers that will split a gun in half, then I expect him to use that method every time there is a gun threatening Mike. However, if there is a reason that he can't, such as news cameras, unstable dynamite, or whatever, then I can accept that too. If KITT can detect a satellite phone being used, he should be able to detect a text message being sent. And why does KITT have to wait for Sarah to tell him to go get Mike? He should know that Mike is in danger and unable to communicate, and should get in there and help. Mike should also be able to communicate to KITT with hand signals, like waving "come get me" at him.
I get the feeling that the scripts are rushed. I would like it if somebody would go through the finished episodes and figure out what the rules are. Then go through future scripts and make sure the rules don't change without a good reason. Here are a few to keep in mind:
1. KITT can not transform while in the middle of a turbo boost.
2. KITT can have new shapes and styles uploaded to him by Sarah
3. KITT can fire super powerful lasers that split guns in half
4. KITT is only invulnerable when the computer is on
5. KITT can upload his "personality" to the internet, but can not make copies
6. KITT can monitor phone calls as long as they are not encrypted
I am sure there are many more, but those are the ones that came to mind.

The fact that nobody questioned KITT even though he called in ahead to the ER.. when he drove up nobody even BOTHERED with the fact that from what they would only think happened, that girl just drove that car herself.
Now I LOVE KR and I absolutely loved this episode. aside from the above major problem. The parents of Maggie also will have to be brought in on the secret because that girl will eventually spill, just as she almost did at the end.
Now people say KITT wasn't prominant in this ep, but he WAS actually VERY prominent... only NOT PHYSICALLY. He drove in front of a wounded man and drove a girl and a cop to the ER and then back again to the crime scene.
HOWEVER : KITT did most of the spying and communicating between everyone and helped with almost all of the data going back and forth so Sarah and the gang could help.
Also there were MORE lines in this episode for KITT than there has been in SOME TIME... The last handful of episodes were actually very LOW on interaction between Michael and KITT so this episode is WELL received in my book on account for the massive lines being shared with KITT at last!
The MAJOR great thing was Mike was just getting a coffee when all this happened. It reminded me of all those "off days" that Michael Knight had in the original show that got turned into working days due to his own need to solve problems he saw on the fly.
This is a character trait that BOTH Michael and Mike share, for one. Otherwise they are completly different people... and they manage to share one vital QUALITY : Doing whatever it takes in the time of trouble.
KUDOS!
Just don't mess up on KITT's cover being TOTALLY blown again, hear?

I really enjoyed the episode despite feeling that some parts of the plot were not unique. I have not seen "Inside Man" but I have seen "Batman: The Dark Knight" 2008 movie.I frowned for brief moment when I saw scenes such as swapping clothes between the hostages and criminals and robbing a Mafia's bank account. Other than that, I felt that the overall show had a great feeling. Keep up the great work~!

I agree with most of the comments here... The changes in the show have definitely been a dramatic improvement. Nice to see the crew working together as a team with everyone able to contribute. Also nice to see KITT's personality showing more.
Would like to see more KITT action, but that's going to depend on the episode. In this case, he played a vital role as an information conduit. I'm sure there will also be plenty of other stories where his other abilities will be called on.
Can't wait to see more!

We are all way too nitpicky. No episode is going to be perfect. But this one comes pretty close.
Let me get my one criticism out of the way - this is an editing issue, and since this was filmed as episode 17 (the season finale), it made sense - but as episode 13, it didn't: at the beginning Sarah is telling KITT that she wanted to tell Mike about the FBI and DEA taking down the drug cartel - which was apparently the previous mission. That is a reference to an UPCOMING episode - "Fly by Knight" to air on 2/11/09, in which Mike and KITT rescue a 10 year old federal witness kidnapped by a drug cartel leader. This is my ONLY criticism, because it's a bit of a spoiler, and because it makes the viewer think that a lot has happened in between Ep. 12 (KITT v. KARR) and this episode. Ep. 13 was supposed to be "I love the Knight Life" which is now set to be the season finale - it supposedly has Sarah adjusting to the restarting of FLAG. But in "Exit Light..." FLAG is already up and running, or at least so it would seem.
GST, if you're reading this, please make some needed adjustments to "I Love the Knight Life" so it doesn't seem out of place.
Now, as to my thoughts on this episode - I was completely overwhelmed with how EXCELLENT this episode was. Kudos and congrats to GST and the whole cast. Very well done.
For all those who think that KITT's cover was blown and shouldn't happen again, don't forget that in the original KR every week there was at least one person who Michael was helping that would see KITT from the inside. Sometimes they were law enforcement. Sometimes they had to go rescue Michael with KITT driving. I expect it to happen more often, and do not think it's a problem.
KITT's interaction with Mattie (NOT "Maggie") was also very well done and true to the original series.
But I have to say, as one of the previous posts mentions, the best part was that this was not a "mission" - it was something that Mike and KITT stumbled across while getting coffee. It is somewhat similar in how the last episode of the original series, "Voo Doo Knight" started - with a silent alarm while Michael and KITT were returning from shopping. This concept was finally the first episode to actually be true to the original.
Again, I think THIS was the best episode this season, including the KARR episodes.
NBC, PLEASE KEEP THIS SHOW ON THE AIR. This episode demonstrates the high quality and ability to deliver a fantastic show on the part of GST and the cast/crew.

It's a given, when Michael Knight hits someone in the head, they are down for the rest of the episode, unless for some reason the camera goes back to the guy he bonked out and it shows him getting up
.
The real question is.... Why didn't they attempt to pull the driver out of the car when it went to block the shots when they dragged the wounded hostage? They didn't even investigate a beam melting their guns. ?!?!?! Maybe the car cleared the people's memories of those events and it didn't show us on the TV. Also don't forget one of the early episodes the car is in park and its moving LOL That almost made me stop watching.

I think the little girl's name was Maddy.

Later, when Michael is dressed as a gunman and sent out with the hostages, KITT is firing bright red lasers across the scene, first at the SWAT snipers gun, then at the gun taped to Mike's hands. The news would have been all over this story.
Okay his cover is completely blown with regards to your other points, but that happened lots in TOS, but as far as the laser goes, it is bright red for our benefit, lasers are actually invisible. For example if you get a laser pen you can see were it ends up, ie. the wall, floor wherever, but can't see the beam in between. This is true for stronger lasers too, so no one would know how his gun was destroyed.
I agree her name was Maddie

this episode was awesome it reminded of 24. People stop being nit picky and be happy with what you get you can only fit so much into a forty minute episode which are about how long most episode in one hour shows are. Kitt always blew his cover in the old show with eveyone he came into contact with. Do you really expect a guy to down in one punch in real life or a fight to end in one punch. Kitt can only turbo boost while in attack mode and in this episode attack wasnt used at all even when he had a chance to when he was returning from the hospital. Not even robocop was indestuctable he could be even killed too with enough gunshots and a virus in his system. Usually police dont care who helps them at all so if a car all of sudden jumps in front of them and give them help so they save a guy they wont thank the driver or the car afterwards. Like the movie hancock the cops or the city didn't thank him when he helped them from stop a police pursit. If kitt had saved the mother in the begining of the episode the whole show would bascially end right there or the mother would probably freak out that the car is driving itself since adults dont usaualy have an open mind about things and what about the wounded cop.

Its not about "thanking the driver" Its about, bullets going into the car (the cops didn't know it was bullet proof) and saving the driver from certain death. As for the laser, ok its invisible, but the gun melting wasn't. However I will stop being nit picky, as I really enjoy KR and hope it stays on the air.

I have to agree this was the best episode so far. The trend from the last 4 shows has each one getting better. I like the character interaction in the begining. The only comment I would make was mentioned earlier, there needed to be more humor. The hospital drop off scene would have been perfect for that. TOS had lots of small humorous shots like that, that's part of what made it so lovable.
All in all great work NBC, keep it. I will tune in for a second season.

My favorite phrase from this episode was at the end when KITT cornered the robber and his girl and Mike runs up and beats him down and says, "I see you meet my car" That was great.
NBC keep Knight Rider, all us fans want it and it will grow in Fnabase as the series kees getting better and better

Again I really liked this ep - and after reading all these replies I agree that some people are being too geekish about the very technical details. My family laughed when KITT was leaving the hospital, spun a rubber smokin' 180 and ditched out the wrong way of a one way street! So the medics are thinking - wait, that car has no driver, and he's speeding...down the wrong way!! Booyah! That stuff is funny and we love it!!!! Goood stuff thanks for it!!

Awesome episode last night...I agree with what others here have said, the reboot episodes are much tighter and a lot better than the first few.. I have high hopes that a season 2 will be made...gotta have faith!

Awesome show, my wife and I couldn't look away. For the first time, you guys had a good balance of everything. It was nice to see mike being the main character with kitt. And kitt for once was doing usefull things by himself. It was all great, story was awesome, action good, and comedy. Mike did an awesome job. And the other three did great serious and funny at the same time. It was great to see the show go back to its routes, and Justin is getting better then the old Micheal. Keep up the good work. Everyone deserves credit. Not dissappointed at all. And please NBC keep the show running, it gives me something in the week to look forward too. With all the reality shows its nice to see something different. This was the best of the the shows. With the right main characters at the helm.... Can't wait to see more..
Thanks

From the Knight Riders blog:
Exit Light, Enter Knight - January 29, 12:12 AM - written and directed by Gary Scott Thompson.
"It's hard to put the main character of any show into serious "will he/she make it?" jeopardy, let alone a character named Michael Knight on a show called Knight Rider, but after the last three weeks, hopefully this is at least one time where Mike's life might actually feel truly threatened. Could even Michael Knight be the next character to go? This episode wasn't originally supposed to air in this slot, but by getting moved up, I actually think it helped add some tension that might not have been there had this episode aired later in the season."
"For the danger to be credible in the episode, the threat of violence had to feel real. The bank robbers had to feel like a real threat. So we show more people getting shot (by the bad guys) than we typically do. Every shot fired, especially a shot in the direction of another human being, is carefully monitored by numerous crew members. Safety is essential, as even working with blanks can be dangerous. (even the air that is shot of out of a gun firing a blank can critically injure a person at close range)."
"Over 4000 bullet shells were expended during the filming of the opening bank siege. And because metal isn't biodegradable, we made sure each and every last one got picked up when filming was done ..."
"Golden State Bank is fictitious. But this specific episode was shot mostly in downtown Los Angeles. Though there are a lot of hints indicating that Michael Knight might be in LA, too, anything too obviously LA was cut out of the picture. Using some visual trickery in the final cut, the skyline was even made a little more generic in the wide shots (where some very recognizable LA landmarks would usually be visible)."
"Also in next week's episode ... see Justin do more of his own stunts. Justin does have a double for stunts the insurance company requires he not do, but Justin really does want to do as much as he's allowed to. ... The fighting might be fake, but the bruises are definitely real."
"ps - am I the only one who can't hear the song "Exit Light, Enter Knight" and not immediately think of Rock Band?"

Outstanding!
That about sums this episode up for me, like most here, I like the new direction they are taking it is great so far. I just hope I get my last wish and we see HERO KITT instead of Attack Mode KITT in the future. It would be an easy write off. They could use the excuse that KITT is to vulnerable when he goes to Attack Mode, so they are going back to the HERO mode. (For those that don't know what HERO mode is, it was his "transformation" in the Movie/Pilot which was a lot smoother and a lot more realistic)
Since others are being picky about the episode, I have to add my one complaint. Mike should always be in contact with KITT. If he isn't going to wear the ear piece all the time, he should at least have a communicator in his wrist watch
