Kelly is the only one who would care that much about them missing her birthday. And I love that Michael's solution was to put Jim and Dwight in charge of the party planning committee.

I think Karen took the news better than Roy did, but that's just me. And Michael's the most awkward part of their meeting, maybe that's a good thing (except that he's focusing on their history which in turn makes it more awkward between them). Loved the sperm machine line.
And Dwight's: My feelings regenerate at twice the speed of a normal person's.

Michael kind of broke my heart there. But I am very worried about his DM future. The Utica lecture did not go well and now to blow off the Rochester one? Never mind the baldie/sugar boobs remark.
I see him realizing there is more to life than DM.

I love how it took Andy so long to catch on and then he still took Creed's advice.
Creed: Have I ever steered you wrong, Jim?
Andy: *shakes head in agreement, pauses* What?

Michael was just full of awkward lines tonight ... I was cringing at the way he remembered the names of the Utica branch folks. And, he really, really wanted Pam to be his magician's assistant.
I'm glad Pam got closure, even if she has to spend three days on the road with Michael. Karen was very gracious about the engagement. I couldn't help but notice her husband is tall, like Jim.

Three observations:
1. This season is falling into a series of bad, good, bad, good... Next week should be awesome.
2. Mindy Kaling should not write episodes on her own.
3. Where did the new credits go??
And to top things off... at 9:30, the Canadian rights holder (Global) ran a second episode of The Office, so which one did they rerun? They ran.......wait for it.......Business School. Continuity between episodes is a concept that they seem not to understand. Sigh...

That was perfect, including Dwight and Jim bickering. The, Dwight is in charge of decorations.

They were lucky there were only some brown and gray balloons and not a traditional Shrute birthday, perhaps with decorations whittled from Beets by Mose.

I loved how they talked simultaneously during the talking head. That's difficult and it's so weird to see them almost on the same page. It reminds me of Customer Survey a little bit (it seems that Kelly is the one who brings Jim and Dwight together in a "productive" way).

Well I loved tonight's episode! So many issues addressed, so many things left up in the air, and everyone seemed to be in their element tonight!!!, which is one thing I have been worried about with the characters this season. I can't wait to go back and watch and re-watch!

I just about died at the way Pam threw those candybars and the complete lack of emotion contrasting Michael's excitement.
But I think my favorite part of the episode was Jim and Dwight yelling at each other in the conference room. There's must just be something about being on that committee.

And, I guess Phyllis also shredded her notes, since Jim and Dwight had no idea whose birthday was next. The pressure of being on the Party Planning Committee must be terrible.

This episode was pretty funny, but I was a little disappointed in the Jim and Dwight story line. Them as heads of the PPC had so much potential, but it turned into something that felt like it had already been done in Customer Survey. (Jim and Dwight vs. an angry Kelly? That's already been done, and this season too...)
It feels weird for me to actually like Andy as a person. I kind of miss old Andy.

Blasphemy! They should all be fired immediately, with a new group of writers being hired to right this egregious wrong.

What a great episode! This was season 2 quality. I loved the Jim and Dwight stuff and Andy is quickly becoming my favorite character. It was nice having to hit the pause button several times so my laughing didn't make me miss the next line. It's been awhile. It was great to see Dwight being funny with out being ridiculous the writers have lost touch with how great the subtle humor of the show can be.

Tell me about it...Nard Dog? Pffffff, heard it before.
Karen?!? We've already seen this character.
Dunder Miflin, this is Pam. I'll quit watching if I ever hear that line again! Or not.
The callbacks to earlier episodes are one of the things that makes The Office special...they remember their past and shows continuity in the writing.
I'm not sure of the stink over Jim/Dwight vs. Kelly. No one seems to have a problem with Michael vs. Toby. Hmmm...

This is easily my favorite episode of the season. It was freakin' hilarious! I cringed and laughed in equal measure, which is always indicative of a classic Office episode.
Favorite moments:
Jim and Dwight's talking head -- They are just too funny together. The arm rest thing was hysterical and the overall chemistry they have is amazing. The are like two brothers forced to share a room in that scene.
Dwight's balloons -- the color scheme and using masking tape to hang them!

"They match the carpet."
Pam and Karen -- I liked seeing a little bit of Old Pam tonight. It was awkward and so perfect.

Pam throwing candy bars at the Utica staff
Creed's $3 bill

Vintage Office tonight and I loved it! Can't wait to watch it again . . . and again . . . and again.

Phew, for a second there I thought I really screwed that up. I thought I schruted it! Agree wholeheartedly with you Packer.
Loved this weeks episode. I was disappointed the opening credits went back to the originals though. Was hoping they would stick with the new credits. Can't wait to see it again. Andy has easily become one of the more likeable characters this season, and he's quickly become my favorite.

Wow~ that was a great episode!
We got another "Dammit Jim"! I love it when those two have to team up. And my favorite line was, "Are you trying to hurt my feelings?" Too funny. And the next time I send a birthday card, I'm just going to write, "It is your birthday."
Pam was great too. I loved her dragging the suitcases around without complaint. She just accepted her fate as being Michael's driver--with time and a half pay, of course.
It also addressed Andy being alone without bringing Angela or Dwight into the mix. I thought it was handled well. I hope the Nard-dog wins too.
