My goal for 2009 is not to get discouraged when I hit a plateau with weight loss.

I set a goal to lose at least 50 pounds before my wedding in September. Today I reached the 25 pounds lost mark. It feels like a real accomplishment. Maybe I will even lose more than 50 before the big day! smile.gif

Way to go, Jaxtastique! Congratulations, and keep up the good work!

My goal is not necessarily just for 2009, but my main goal is to have toned arms and washboard abs. smile.gif

I want to lose the last 20lbs, maintain my weight loss and exercise more!

I'm getting married in December of this. While I would like to lose weight to look better in my Tux (who wouldn't), I want to lose weight so I can do something nice for my fiance on our honeymoon. She really wants to go horseback riding on the beach while we are down there and there is a 300 lb weight limit.

I started at 343, got down to 335 before gaining (ironically the week I started exercising). My goal is to get at least 15 to 20 lbs under 300 by the end of December so there is no questions that I can ride that horse.

I went to see a dietitian in January. She pretty much has me on a diabetic diet. While I'm not diabetic, definitely at risk for it. I've felt more full at meals than I have in a long time and we are actually saving tons of money at the grocery store by buying and cooking all the fresh veggies and such.

Exercise wise, I've started with Bob's Yoga (awesome) and am gradually adding in treadmill and over DVD's.

Hello everyone,

I have just joined this morning. I have been reading the posts since I had my second spine surgery 18 months ago. Couldn't sleep well at times. Anyway to the point. I started gaining weight when my back started bothering me to much to work. ( that was 3 years ago) I became pretty much sedentary and the weight just piled on. On Jan. 3 of this year I decided to make a change. I started counting calories on FitDay and I have lost 18 lbs., and 6 inches off my waist. I was in a lot of pain from the extra weight around my waist. It has gotten better. I will start walking as soon as the weather here is warm enough and it is not raining. I can not do the strenous stuff until I check in with my doctor, but I have borrowed a stationary bike and today I started riding it.

Hello all,

Just want to say that through diet and exercise I have lost to date 177lbs.. My starting weight was 425lbs. It was not easy at first but if you put your mind to it and stick with your plan you should be able to achive your goals.

I would also like to add that you should set small goals that you can achive instead of just loking at
the big picture. The little success that you achive throughout your journey helps to keep you on track.

At the start of 2009 I set a goal to lose 50lbs by Sept 2009. To dat I have lost 30lbs this year and have increased my exercise to help achive the goal.

The Biggest Loser show has actaully helped keep me inspired to keep moving forward.
Best of luck to all and remember it is not a diet we are following we are retraining on body and minds to have a healthier lifestyle.

My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week through this year. I know that everyweek is not going to be successful but I won't give up. I have set a few mini goals for myself.

I started January 4th with my Sunday School class in the Biggest Loser Challenge. I was sure I wouldn't win but hoped it would at least motivate me to loose 30 pounds in the 12 weeks. I won the challenge when I lost 44 lbs!

I also wanted to start walking or doing some sort of excersice each day. My goal was to walk at least a mile each day and now I am walking 3.5 miles a day and set to do the March of Dimes walk next weekend. It is 4.25 miles. I am so proud of me and I know I can keep this up.

My starting weight was 289.
My currant weight is 242.
My goal weight is 160.

Hey Everyone, I'm a newbie. I'd like to lose 130lbs. I'm starting out now. One of my other goals is to feel good about myself in a bathing suit this summer. I live right at the beach and i want to feel fabulous for the first time in my life at the beach. I know I can't lose 130 lbs by summer but I can lose some and even a little bit will help my confidence.

and i want to add that I'm so happy I found this board! It's def the support I need to get to my goals!

Hello Everyone,

In Feb. I really woke up. I realized I needed to make a lifestyle change. Not diet, lifestyle change. I would always say well its okay if I have that slice of cheese cake I am starting a diet next week. Well the diet never happened. I have been in chronic pain for 7 years from a car accident I had back in 2002. Well with that accident it changed my life. I was never small by any means however my weight was more managable. Last November I was 217. I went on the fad diet Atkins for all of 2 weeks and lost 7 lbs. I did maintain that. However a light bulb turned on in my in feb. I no longer want to be in pain. As well as I am tired of being winded from walking up stairs. I want to be able to go for a run and it be a realistic thing. Not I run for 30 seconds and fall out flat tired. I have went to my dr, dietician, cardiologist, and pain dr. Did I mention I am tired of taking blood pressure pills. Im only 25. That should no happen. Something was wrong. So I went to all of these dr's got the tools I needed to begin my weight loss journey. I know exercise 4-5 days a week at the gym. My blood pressure is getting lower and I am starting to feel a lot better. I eat 3 meals a day with 2 snacks. I havent exactly got to the running yet. Im slowly getting there. In Feb. my start weight was 210. I am now down to 195. My goal weight is 130. However I am know seeing that I can probably shot for 118. We will see. I have changed the way I eat and thing about food. Im starting to see small changes. I am down 15 lbs. I am on my way to 60. I keep in close contact with my dr's. I want to do this the right way and not add more health problems. Since I have realized this is a lifestyle change not a diet I think it has really helped me.
