I know they're suppose to remind us of Roman and Marlena but they remind me alot more of Bo and Hope. Bo kinda got the brush off like that from people and wasnt taken all that serious either when he first appeared on the show. I think that was part of Bo's charm and why he ended up so popular so fast on the show, he did things his way and half the time got in worse trouble for doing them that way but eventually it always turned out for the better.

I know the writers are big on the similarities and I kept feeling them, but I couldn't figure out exactly who it was.

Maybe it is Roman and Marlena they remind me of. Roman was brought in to protect Marlena temporarily, and he ended up developing feelings for her. Which like others have said, is similar to Rafe and Sami. It'd definately have to be the original Roman though.

But when he was talking to her about protecting her from the DiMeras and taking down the DiMeras, it kind of reminded me of John and Marlena I think.

But considering both of those pairs contain Marlena, it could just be because Sami is Marlena's daugther, and she reminds me of her I suppose.

I agree with you about the original Roman, it was weird to see the guy who originally place Chris Cosichec as the new Roman.

Just wondering what all the Safe supporters would do if somewhere down the line the writers make Sami and Rafe somehow blood related, this is NOT A SPOILER, just a question as Lucas and Cassie were getting ready to do the nasty when they broke into their motel room and let them know they were 1/2 brother and sister. These writers have been known to do some God awful things. I just don't trust these writers, they give out a bone and then take two bones back. I will just wait and see.in the meantime the view is great.

that is not what I said, I merely asked a question as it has been done before and and other shows. I would find that quite disgusting. If she ends up with EJ it will be of her own choice and the writers. I quit watching Passions cause they were writing crap like that.

well they have done it before on days, Tony and Renee, Marie and tommy and Lucas and Cassie. Everything was stopped before it was a done deed but not on the other show. Now a days it seems everything goes and if Days goes there I would stop watching it also. Im not against Rafe really - I just want to wait and see what direction they go in, I have been burnt before so to speak.

I doubt Dena brought Rafe on to be Sami's brother now I do believe that Eric will come back this year.

Eric would be a welcome addition. Nobody knows what Dena will or won't do. Not even Dena.

This is not the first board that is discussing the possibility that Rafe is Roman's son. Apparently JT is friends with KC and this is thought to be the upcoming big storyline for Roman.

I guess the clue is to watch and see if Sami and Rafe end up in a real kiss or not. They said their first kiss wasn't even shown and they are now being careful to not put them physically together. So I guess if we see Rafe and Sami really kissing or in a romantic embrace then all bets are off that Rafe is Roman's son.

Whichever couple it would be, IMO it would have the female as needing a man to help her.

Marlena was a strong, independent, self-supporting woman when Roman came on the scene. She wasn't like Sami, who's always getting herself into predicaments and falling apart at the seams.

IMO, the Marlena character was suppose to, and has come across, as an intelligent, level headed psychiatrist whom others looked up to.

Sami's in a Sami situation and Sami needs help to get what she needs, Grace. Rafe's the only one that can help her.

Yes one of the producers is from Passions and i'm sure they know Galen and knows that he played the good romantic guy on Passions which is most likely what his role is on Days and Galen also didn't play a character that was related to his sister. If anything he'll probably end up a Dimera before being a Brady and then we can have another Brady and Dimera love story told the right way, hmm could be what the writers are aiming for. How funny would that be?

I would think he would want to try something new instead of being the same character just in another show though JMO.

Yeah they are sorta like Carrie and Austin. A lot of Safe fans want Sami to stop scheming, being bad, etc. and so far Rafe is the definition of Good Guy. So it would be sorta the same thing. Also, look where Carrie and Austin ended up...in Switzerland.

Marlena needed Roman, she was just too stubborn to admit it. Stubbornness, yet another quality Sami got from her mother.

As for predicaments, Sami and Marlena are also on the same page there. Marlena was always having to be rescued. If it wasn't Roman, it was John. Just like Sami always ends up pulling someone else in to get her out.

Yes, Marlena was a victim of Stefano, Alex North, etc., and got into jams but I never saw her put herself into one intentionally due to lying, scheming and manipulating like Sami.

Sami? Her own worst Enemy. Marlena? A victim who in her heart, never intentionally wanted to do harm, manipulate or scheme her way into a man's heart or blackmail others to get what she selfishly wanted.

No, I don't want to see Sami go back into those self destructive modes again but neither do I want her to be all smiley smiley like her mom.

I started watching around the time Roman started camping out in Marlena's house to protect her. Although that is a similarity between the two couples, I think that's the only similarity. Roman was just so different than Rafe, imo. He was a rugged, spunky, tough guy. Funny, stubborn, sort of a Rocky Balboa type, imo. Not a very handsome man, but sooo lovable...someone you routed for. Marlena was a classy, highly educated, slightly uptight, beautiful woman. There was the whole extreme opposites attract appeal with them. I LOVED them! Miss them.

As for the whole Rafe might be Sami's brother, at first I thought it sounded silly, but the more I think about it, I could see it happening! They didn't show their kiss! Why not???? Brothers do like to take care of little sisters! OMG! I doubt it, but it is possible!

I'm a Safe fan and I don't want to see Sami stop being Sami, however, everyone's personality evolves. I'm not the same person at 28 that I was at 18. Sami maturing a bit doesn't mean she has to go all out goody goody. Sami is Sami and Rafe loves her for it and I don't believe for a second that he is blind to her ways.
