Michael McGrady stars as gang detective Daniel "Sal" Salinger in NBC's new drama series "Southland."

McGrady has appeared in numerous roles on television and film including a starring role opposite Taye Diggs in "Day Break" and recurring parts in "Dirty Sexy Money," "24," and "CSI Miami." His film credits include "Deep End of the Ocean," "The Thin Red Line," "Hocus Pocus," and several others. Most recently audiences saw him as Sheriff Hastings on the new TNT Drama "Leverage."

McGrady, along with his wife, Ilka, are co-founders of the Balanced Life Company, an international organization dedicated to helping people develop and maintain a more balanced and sustainable lifestyle. McGrady is also an accomplished fine artist who owns and operates McGrady Fine Art with his wife.
McGrady is an advanced rated hang-glider pilot who has enjoyed flying his glider at various locations around the world. In addition, he holds black belts in two different styles of karate.

I saw michael mcgradys name in the credits,but didnt see him much in the pilot.. i was really bummed hes an excelent actor and i hope to see him in a ton more

i saw the pilot and thought it was fantastic,very gripping..i think the show will do well. All of the actors are excelent..i hope to see more of Michael McGrady and Tom Everett Scott..theyre both fine actors and way under used in this episode

Yeah, I dig michaels work hes such a talented person in general..between acting and painting
hes a big guy..absolutly perfect for the role..like xcutex said.. it would be such a waste of his talent if he wasnt in much of it

FINALLY a show filmed with redcam! It looks so awesome, I was stoked to see Michael McGrady hes going to make a great part of this team, I hope theres more to come from this talented actor, does he have a website?

Dudessss Ive been following Michaels career for some time now, hes awesome deffinately excited for this new show, it looks outstanding!

This show is insane, its so cool how they film it, such high drama and yet still comedic even a bit dark. Michael brought so much with his natural charisma I cant wait to see more of him, I have a feeling about this show...

Watched SouthLand last night and thought it was great! The dialogue is excellent and very captivating!

But I must agree with the former comments concerning veteran Actor "Michael McGrady", that it is a waste of talent to not see more of this eclectic Actor in your show!

Hopefully we'll see more of Michael in the up-coming series!

Finally! We've got an amazing show now guys! Michael McGrady's character is introduced,got a great plot and life is good! Tonights episode was amazing. I love the chemistry of Michael and his daughter its so great. He is definatly easy on the eyes.

I just finished watching this weeks episode, Next weeks episode looks very thrilling, I can't wait to see more of Sal.

I dont get it. WHERES SALINGER?!? An almost immediate favorite character of mine so many fathers in this world can relate to him and his balancing act of life- pump u this story line and get your votes NBC!

i loved the episode featuring Sal!! I cant wait to see more of his story line...hes so talented and his character is extremely realatable.

The conversation between Sal and his daughter on the second episode was hilarious.
(The actress is another talented kid.)
I am really looking forward to his story, and I want to see Sal's wife some day.

Some seasoned actors get better further on in their career..."McGrady" is one such actor! His multi-facited character relates to many people...hopefully we'll see more of "Sal"...

Sal is a very gratifying character-My wife just about welled up when him and his daughter reunited at the end
