We're shown at B's original funeral, that she did have true feelings for him, so I don't think it's shocking that she's upset about his death. She may have chosen Chuck over Bryce, but she can still care for him. Originally she felt pretty betrayed that he went rogue on her, but then after the Stanford visit, we see that she understands that he was a "good guy" all along, and we continue to see that respect. So it wasn't like "you cheated on me w/ my best friend - I hate you forever" type feelings--- she cared for him. I'm ok with that, she clearly chose Chuck over him and Bryce told Chuck so.

I guess, as I've posted previously, my disappointment in Sarah's reaction has probably got a lot to do with the teaser leading me to believe her outpouring of emotion was over Chuck, so it was surprising to see it being about Bryce.

Wow I just had the most intriguing idea.... Anyone notice how Bryce's eyes were open when he was dead? dying? And Chuck did the intersect thing. What if the Ring brings Bryce back to life and he has the intersect in his head??!??!?!??! And Bryce will be another person like Chuck to have the intersect in his head. I mean Bryce has "died" and came back once before. What makes you think he can't again???

That's a great observation. I was wondering why his eyes were open and though that was odd. I think your right.
bigtimechuckfan
I think the two most important things of this whole show were:

1. Chuck was re-intersected. We all knew that was coming, what they decide to do with it in season 3(yes season 3) could be epic.

2. The very last thing on the screen: TO BE CONTINUED
Lily1
you know, what they've really done here is tweak the show so it is a new Chuck. They offed the Buy More (which some people thought was boring), killed off Bryce (whom some people hated) and sent Morgan to hawaii (some people really complained about Morgan.) They gave Chuck "superpowers," which he "always wanted," (which we always wanted for him because we complained about his always being stuck in the car and never got to do any fighting) and they finally let Chuck and Sarah admit their love for e/ other, even to the point of her being willing to leave CIA for him. Finally, they changed Chuck's basic desire from just wanting the girl of his dreams to that of wanting to save the world.
It is a new show! It won't be Chuck they are renewing, but the new and improved Chuck, which already carries a substantial following, but will pick up new viewers with all the new fancy footwork.

What's gonna happen with the buy more crew. If Morgan, Jeff, Lester, and Big Mike are done I don't know if I'll be able to watch it.

I'm not sold on the kung fu thing either but I have a feeling we don't know everything about the Intersect 2.0. Maybe the kung fu is temporary and he only knows it for a short time. Also, I doubt Chuck can go around learning all these techniques because at some point he really would become a super spy who can literally do anything and everything. I'm thinking there's something evil and not right with the new intersect. Remember Papa B asking Bryce what the new intersect can do and bryce replying that he doesn't want to know. That to me signals that new intersect may not be as great as it looks right now.

Well...I agree to a point.

Chuck's powers will be limited. They have to be. Chuck can't become the new James Bond/Jason Bourne. He just can't. That would ruin the show. There are perks and advantages to Intersect 2.0 but they don't involve Chuck becoming something he's not.

Is the game changer that the Buy More is history? What will happen with Jeff and Lester? Morgan?

Actually, I'm with the folks who find the new direction dissapointing. Chuck's regular guyness is so much a part of his appeal--as a character, yes, but also to Sarah. Her protectiveness of him was one of the things that made their relationship so compelling. Anyway, sorry to sound negative, and beleive me, I'm dying for a season 3. I really love this show. But I'm a bit skeptical about this as the new direction.

Everyone must grow. You can't stay the same. Some people worry about Chuck losing his sweetness and innocence. Guess what? Life is tough and it will eventually happen to him sooner or later. Sarah will still be protective of him because she loves him. That's the way she rolls. She can protect him in a different way - emotionally. He doesn't have the background to protect himself but she does. I can see positives in the new direction.
KeysGoRound
My local NBC was interrupted for a weather update. ARG!

The last thing I saw was Chuck hand Sarah his check from the government, and the next thing I saw was Bryce spying on Sarah, on the beach and said "You're not coming with me, are you?" and she shakes her head no.

What happened between those two points?!

This episode was first season quality. The writers left just enough questions unanswered to make leave us wanting more next week. CHUCK also deserves a third without having to wait for a formal annoucement. I thought it was cool how Awesome reacted when Morgan told him he had to stall the wedding because Chuck said to.
SnapeGirl
I wish I could stay and chat, but now I have to get the kids to bed.

LOVED the episode! But it felt way too short. My kids can't stop saying "Guys... I know Kung-Fu". Too funny!

Yay, Bryce is awesome. Glad he was going to leave Sarah to Chuck. Huh? Huh? C'mon, bring on the Larkin Love folks.

Right it will be like Chuck v2.0, to mirror the intersect.

Rewatching now...
First, still can't get over Chuck kicking butt wearing nice clothes and those cons. Seeing those big cons kicking cracked me up!!!
Second: Sarah shaking her head no to Bryce, nuff said
Third: Sarah and Chuck looking at each other at the wedding
Fourth: Mr Roboto
FIfth: Awesome siding with Morgan when Morgan tells him Chuck told him to mess up the wedding
Sixth: Sam Kinison and Indian Lesbian
Seventh: Sarah saying I want......
Eighth:Sarah going thru the gifts till she found knives...waffle maker was the first
Ninth: Chuck and Sarah fixing their outfits after gunfight and Ellie thinking they were hooking up
Tenth:Casey watching Chuck fight...HILLARIOUS

You can die with your eyes open. I think bringing him back to life twice is going to the well twice too often. It relegates him to a comic book character. Bryce the undying man.

I have to say that I love the new direction the show is taking. I think Chuck will still be his same, sweet, bumbling self even with his new powers. He has to flash before he can use them, and he looks totally shocked as he is reacting. I think this can add a whole new element of comedy, especially when you consider that his teammates will not know what to expect or how to respond. I can't wait for season 3, and I desperately hope that "To be continued..." means we can count on it.
clfnole212
Didn't someone say that there was a spoiler that had Ellie finding out?

Looks like Chuck will be Sarah's and Casey's handlers, LOL. What a great show this is. Hope it comes back in the fall...

Definitely agree. Even though it's awesome to see Chuck kicking major a-s, the general idea since the beginning was that Chuck really was the normal, nerdy guy, and it developed his relationships with both Casey and Sarah.

At least now, Chuck won't ever have to hear "Stay in the car!" again...

I happen to like the "stay in the car" bit... but not only that I really do hope that Chuck is the same realistic guy he has been. It wouldn't be the same show if Chuck had to protect Sarah and Casey. And I know some will say he has already, and while that's true it would be different if he did it with "skills" and not normal guy ideas and means.
IKnowKungFu2
Okay so now that I've managed to think straight again...and I'm sure that Chucks new upgrade blew everyones fuses for at least five or more minutes...I gotta ask this.

After all those times that Casey bullied, strong-armed, and pretty much smacked Chuck around...Who do you think would win in a brawl. No weapons, just pure hand-to-hand combat. Oh and just for the record...Casey's face was absolutely priceless throughout the entire fight.

Thinking Chuckster would whoop Casey's butt. Yah he may be tough but just a few minutes ago he was sure he could smack the dude around that just took out what was it....six...seven armed guys at once with no weapons other than his fists and legs without even really having a clue as to what he was doing. Man there better be a season three!

I also think that this won't change the regular guyness of Chuck. Intersect 1.0 didn't change him and this intersect 2.0 (coolest thing ever) won't change him either.

what no one is taking into account here is that no matter what powers the new intersect gives chuck, HE DOESN'T KNOW HE HAS THEM! this opens up an entire universe of possibilities. didnt anyone ever watch " Greatest american hero?" i bet you he will be finding out new stuff he can do in almost every episode. and now that he has the intersect AND the wristband he's not the lacky anymore but much more of a leader in the spy world. this is going to be sweet!

I hope that's true, chuckfan23, I really do. But Chuck not being able to do certain kinds of things, particularly the fighting, shooting, etc., is part of what made the bravery and loyalty he does show that much more admirable. And I think it's what Sarah sees in him as well. I will also admit to being a real sucker for protective Sarah. It's one of the few places where her feelings for him are most evident, and I'd be sad to lose that (so would she, I think)
tcat075
I really, really want to know what Intersect 2.0's limitations are.

Ellie and Awesome had a beautiful second wedding!

I think Devon's dad had the funniest line when he called lester an "indian lesbian!"

Mr. Roboto! Ultimate cheese song. The lyrics were perfect though...talking about secrets and his brain IBM.

I also liked how Captain Awesome agreed to let Morgan do whatever he wanted when he found out Chuck told him to. Devon worships Chuck now! Awesome was also rocking out in one scene that was too funny for words.

I love Morgan Fairchild and Bruce Boxleitner. They must return!

Ellie told Chuck he was a superhero and he became one!

Casey crashes through the sky light and then plans a wedding! Casey is the man.

If characters had to die I'm glad it was Chevy Chase and Bryce. I couldn't stand to lose Morgan, Ellie or Awesome.

I also loved how Zachary Levi saw Morgan alone in the reception crowd and got that little smile. I'm sure that wasn't in the script, but he put it in there for realism. His little bearded buddy came through for him at the wedding. Chuck and Morgan are the best bromance on tv!

Loved this episode!

Anyway, did Sarah say, "I don't want to save the world." Well, guess what... Chuck does now. Craziness.

She did. During the dance with Chuck at the reception when she tried to tell him she's not leaving with Bryce. They decided to tone down the romantic angst and give some closure that Chuck and Sarah both want to be together...

Interesting how they showed Orion flashing and getting weaker...that will play into Chuck's future next season...Chuck should be hurting because of the Intersect in his head.

But with Chuck being the only intersect again, he will still be as much of an asset to the gov't as he was before. They can't let anything happen to him still, just now he can kick a little butt.

After that great season finale NBC would be crazy to get rid of this show. Its the only thing I look forward to on Mondays. Plus they need the help getting people to stay tuned to the crappy writing that is Heroes.

Me personally I hope they dont "off" the buy more, I love the buy more, I love lester, jeff and the whole buy more crew and they can not remove morgan. That can not happen. Joshua gomez is great.

I want to go watch the show from the pilot and watch them all over again now. This show is so fantastic.

The Intersect 2.0 can be a great vehicle if used right and i believe they will. It will still be old Chuck with occasional WOW moments that he may or may not control. Kind of like Greatest American Hero from the 80's. Guy gets super powers that he can't always control and don't always work like he'd like. Gives some comedic situations, but keeps the character grounded while still being...well Super. Super Chuck and Doctor Awesome with Morgan the Boy Wonder. It will be a good direction and hey it can always go away with some flashy pictures if it doesn't. I am really dating myself with the 80's tie-ins!

CHUCK ME SEASON 3......... i love to be continued.

this episodes was just amazing... nice cliffhanger and its now up to the writers to make Chuck even better (if its possible biggrin.gif)!

thebigbadwulf
I hope they don't turn the show into something similar to burn notice. where the whole point of the show is to unravel this conspiracy. for one thing it always turns into the writers making the conspiracy rediculously complicated. so it takes like 3 seasons to unravel this conspiracy and by the time they do no one cares anymore.

honestly after watching this edisode i still want a third season but would be more ok without a third season than i was a couple hours ago

Wow...awesome episode.

When Jeffster came on I almost lost it. The whole Sarah chuck back and forth tonight had me going in circles. When she tried to tell chuck she was staying and when Bryce tried to tell him they both got interrupted. Now with Chuck having this new intercect and being back with the team, I think it will put him and Sarah on hold.

We could have to wait another whole season to see Sarah tell Chuck how she feels.

A lot of great one liners, and great story lines tonight tho...
chuckandmorgan
Morgan, Jeff and Lester are too important to the show. They will either find a way to topple Emmett or they will work somewhere else.

No one has mentioned how ridiculous Emmett was when he thought Chuck was coming onto him! I laughed so loud. When Emmett said "fla-Ming" I nearly choked on my Subway!

I'm sure they can somehow explain that those flashes don't come very often. That way he can continue to be a "nerd"

Growth. If Chuck doesn't grow from that nerd he was in the pilot episode, this show doesn't have a chance.

Wow, it took me a while to absorb, but I think I finally understand the 'game changer'. It's in the title. "The Ring." Fulcrum is only one part of the ring, as the double agent said he wasn't Fulcrum but a part of the ring. The game changer.

I kept watching and looking at the clock, thinking, I can't believe how much they're covering in this one hour. Totally AWESOME! I loved every twist and turn of the this episode. And, I hooted and clapped at the Matrix ending. LOVED IT! So much, in fact, that I logged on for the first time to see what y'all had to say and made my first post!!

This was a great show and I'm definitely ready for more!

I just remembered that Matt Bomer has his own show next year. So either they bring in another actor, or he's really dead.

my main concern is how the show would turn out from here on and out. the ending was a huge game-changer, but chuck was, from the begining of the show to pretty much the end, someone who didnt like violence. as suprising as the ending is now, im curious as to how they will keep the comedy of the show (perhaps the fact that chuck is still a novice spy, if thats possible with the new intersect?).

we all know the action and romance will be covered though =)

well i think after this season and the disappointing rating the writers probably decided that the show needed a new turn, and just because Chuck is now able to do stuff with the Intersect rahter then being submitted to its work, i won;t believe he will become Casey on crack. He knows now that he can learn almost in an instant any type of tecnique or shooting or whatever else, but he's still Chuck, the only way he will do that is because of necessity and last resort, like what happened tonite. So i'm really hoping for a season 3 and i think it will be awesome. And i'm happy that Ellie didn't learn his secret.

I agree with you. I'll have to look again, but it looked like Chuck did flash before he started to fight. I have a feeling the only way Chuck has changed is that he accepted what he must do for the rest of his life...become a Spy. I doubt he is a super spy, but if this is going where another show once took it, I have a feeling we have about two more seasons to go before the show might be canceled. And no I do NOT know if they are renewing the show. I'm just basing my observations off of another show.

QUOTE (DN1 @ Apr 27 2009, 09:28 PM) *
Anyone else notice how much the series has changed? What was once episodes with their own individual plots with levity among the big three, has grown into a much more intense over arcing series. Was this just about closing out season 2 or do you think this is how the show is going to be hence forth?

They are becoming more of a team. It took a year for Chuck to learn he can trust Sarah and Casey and it took a year for Chuck to accept that he is suited for the spy life and to learn what his place is in the team. Third season is probably Chuck getting used to the new intersect. After all, even Dad didn't know how it worked completely(is that what he said? I need a rewatch). Plus he has the Orion's watch.

To me, Chuck is an analyst who can take care of himself when he really needs to. Oh the possible adventures those three could have...maybe going across the world since Chuck is no longer tied to home and the buymore.

He'll probably be gone the first episode, then come back saying he blew it in Hawaii or being a chef is harder than he thought, etc etc. He'll still be part of the show. I can't imagine them just completely getting rid of the charecter...
Carinas_boyfriend
i think that Chuck abilities to learn stuff from the intersect will be connected to Sarah and especially if she's in danger, he loves her so much that his brain will access the intersect and find a way to save her. But i'm still thinking that Chuck will remain the lovable nerd we all like.
