That's right. Lucas knew that Carrie still loved Austin (even though they weren't exactly a couple at that time) and visa versa....he plotted and schemed against his brother to ruin him in Carrie's eyes...and was rather pleased with himself. I remember that very well. I guess the same applies to Lucas as well as the other characters....karma it a b1tch!
Yes, it is, which is why I'm enjoying his "pain"... whether or not I agree that Danloe is "twu wuv", at least he seems to be tortured over this. I don't understand why it's ok for Lucas or Kate or others who some don't like as much (or at all), to suffer because it's Karma, but when Dr. Dan the handy man suffers, it's tragic and unfair, as
he should be allowed to have the woman he "loves". Unfortunately the woman he loves wasn't actually
his woman, BY HER OWN choices and actions....and they have both been guilty of hurting others with their behavior, so too bad if they are "suffering". This is the first time Dr. Dan has shown any remorse for his less-than-noble behavior since arriving in Salem. Sadly, it took
him being hurt, personally, in order for him to feel bad, not because of what his actions have done to others.. which means to me that there's still some butt-biting Karma yet to come...
I'll also add that with most characters, at least there has been enough development and history to be able to "understand" why they did something and therefore, even if they still get a taste of Karma, we are able to see that they are human and have some basis for the mistakes they have made. The writers have done a horrible job of showing me any of that with Daniel, which is maybe why I have such a hard time feeling sorry for him. The only thing they've ever brought up is his wife, a patient, dying. That would explain his hesitancy to get into a relationship, but it doesn't explain to me, or at least is not sufficient enough "reason" for me to still root for him or feel for him in this situation. Heck, I hated him with Chelsea but at least when he started to address the issues with his dead wife, I could appreciate his struggles, but that lasted all of one day.. Days apparently hasn't wanted to invest enough in this character to "flesh out" more of his history and motivations, like they have with many of the characters I've grown to appreciate. And that, sadly, IMO, makes this character a waste and also underuses the talent and abilities of Mr. Christian.. He is talented and has a great work ethic, they just haven't given his character enough for me to root for in this storyline.
