Last night's ep was really good. I loved the camera shot(s) in the courtroom where they switched from the faces of the haughty Hispanic mother on the witness stand, to the grieving mother to Rubirosa. 3 Hispanic women from 3 social classes all emoting. I thought that was poignant.

The actress who played the grieving mom was outstanding. She seems familiar to me, though I can't place her & couldnt' find her name listed with the ep anywhere.

The scene with her near the end (in the hospital) where Connie's tears are about to fall & Cutter's are forming was so good too.

Great subject. Great Story. Same Complaint:

MORE CUTTER!!!!

What??? I just can't get enough! wink.gif

I agree with the poster above--I liked this very much. Serious subject, well handled. Since you covered the major point, I thought I'd make some more superficial comments.

First, I cant remember another episode in which the defendents had no dialogue. The one boy who took the plea testified, but the other two who went to trial had no lines at all (unless you count the first boy calling out "Mom?" when the Argentinian snob was being questioned by Bernard and Lupo). Just seemed odd to me, but perhaps the two boys weren't as important as their story.

And I have to say that I am pretty darn impressed with the linguistic abilities of my two favorite detectives. This time it was Bernard, rattling off Spanish like a native. Last season I remember Lupo saying "Lo siento" (I'm sorry) to a young woman who's sister was killed at an immigration rally. And this season, in Knock Off and Take Out, Lupo shows that he can speak, or at least understand, Korean and Chinese. In Lucky Stiff, also this season, Bernard knows the difference between the Russian and Western alphabets. Gee, if the NYPD ever gets hit with cutbacks and layoffs, our boys could try to hook on with the UN as interpreters.

I love this show.

I'm fan of the show for many years, but the last episode was a little confuse. They alywas try to show that violence, hate, discrimination..., is bad and law and order, justice, make more sense and it does, off course. I didn't see that yesterday, is like they losing the passion that makes the show goes on. I love Michael Cutter, very nice replacement. But something still missing. When the actor Sam waterston played the ADA, I alywas believed him, he could say that the horse next door was yellow and I'd believe it. I don't feel the same passion or feeling now, but still, is a very, very good show.

1st period intermission of the Bruins/Canes game 2. So, here's my 2 pesos:

I have a problem with the branding pipe being left at the scene. It wouldn't happen. Also, that MedFlight would cost beaucoup $K The production is still A1, and the actors are all "sick" - but the writing, uggh! Sloppy, unimaginative, and just lazy.

*for those w/o teens, "sick" is a good thing.

What was negative Spanish phrase used
Used by Argentinian mother while on the stand

I was watching show with someone who gasped when she said it, now we're knocking our brains as to what it was. The female D.A. knew what it was and whispered it to the lawyer questioning her.
It meant dirty, lowest of the low.
We were talking about it @ Emma's, the 1 good Mexican restaurant in metro Hilo, and everyone now wants to know.

Actually it was 'gacho' (nasty, rotten).
No wonder my friend acted surprised, he said his mom told him never to use that word (though she used to call Maddie across the street that name from what he told me).

Groncho - Argentininian slang for bum sounds pretty nasty too

Thanks for the response boysarecool, now I have a new word to use here in Hawaii that nobody will know what it means.
