I'M A CELEBRITY ... GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Mondays-Thursdays (8-9 p.m. ET) from June 1-18 on NBC;
Continues Monday-Wednesday (finale episode) June 22-24 (8-9 p.m. ET)
NBC.com website:
http://www.nbc.com/im-a-celebrity/A groundbreaking, live event airing throughout the month of June – it's the ultimate "Swiss Family Robinson" as ten celebrities are dropped into the heart of the jungle to face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills. America is the puppet master, controlling their favorites by putting them into challenges and tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items. In each episode, friendships will be tested, hilarity will ensue and viewers will decide which celebrities stay or leave. While all participants will be playing for their favorite charities, the last remaining star will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, winning the largest share of the prize for donation.
"I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!" is a production of Granada America. Chris Brogden and Jayson Dinsmore serve as executive producers; Michael Brooks and Tamsin Dodgson are the co-executive producers.

When this show has run in other countries it has been MUST SEE television. Full newpaper coverage, other daytime shows crossing over to see what is going on etc etc.
I am confused as to why it is only on 4 nights, not 7. Can we trust that they are not being moved to a 5 Star Hotel on a Thursday night?
Janice D will be AMAZING to watch. She has done the UK version before and I am sure came in the top 3, even though she isnt really a household name over there!

Just out of curiosity, how does the elimination process work on this show? Presuming they have ten celebs and yet the show is only airing for three and a half weeks, then I think we can pretty safely assume they will be doing multiple eliminations per week. I mean they would have to, in order to whittle ten people down to two by June 24, right? Maybe some of you who are familiar with earlier versions of the show can chime in about how the process worked?

this show is new 2 me , i recently researched the uk version on utube, just to get sense of what the show is about & what the cast is in store for,
I was wondering the same thing as blackraven , will there be muliple elimations,?
will it make a difference if the person succeds in the callange they are given will they be safe from elimation or it doesnt matter?
how do the callanges match with the celebs? are we given a list of challanges & celebs to match? we vote on the challange & celeb by phone?internet? [ i saw the commericail with a caller calling in a challange}
the same question we vote by phone or internet or both to vote someone off?
also on the uk version they we're split into teams, will they have teams in this show?
if anyone can answer those questions it would be appriciated, this being a new show to me ,i would like 2 know how it works , thanks.

I have read that Lou Diamond Phillips, Patti Blagoveich, and Keven Federline are the last three named contestants and some lady from England is the moderator. Every celebrity news outlet has announced these names except NBC. If they wait much longer, they won't get any buzz out of it. In their desire to roll this out piecemeal, they have been scooped by many others. Their whole PR approach has been questionable.

As I said in another post, I'm watching because of Baldwin (all the Baldwin brothers are awesome!), Janice, and Sanjaya. I think its going to be a great show and I'm actually looking forward to it. Janice is going to be a blast!
I do hope that Dog is on there as he would be a hoot to watch! I know Lou and like him as well. Other than what Joel on the Soup says about Heidi and Spencer, I could care less about the two of them, as with Torrie and Patty. Those can be the first four to go home!

I would hope those who will be watching would vote off Patty Blago (the former disgraced corrupt Gov of Illinois) off. I don't know why NBC would tap in a thief. I understand she is doing this for the money (what a joke) they own over 1million in real estate, plus she made over 100 thousand a year from a job she did not have credentials to have but her hubby strong armed the not for profit organization to hire her or they would loose state funds.
So people get rid of her!!! She is a joke to the state and we are becoming a society of being ok with corruption.

the great thing about this show is WE will be in control ,so u decide what happens 2 who

, I will have fun with that, and so will many veiwers ,
Chazee u know this show & expert in reality , how does this show work?
How do we match the challange 2 celeb by phone /internet?
my faves are Sanjaya & lou they are sweethearts , cant wait 2 see these 2 guys , but... baldwin & janice will be fun to watch & hear, lol

Janice was superb on the UK version of this. She'll be one to watch. My ancient Irish mother took to mimicing her: "Oh,
mayne!"

But I like Sanjaya to bits so I hope he does well.
I've just found out it's showing in the UK from next Monday, 9pm, ITV2. We're IACGMOOH junkies over here, so it should be quite popular.

hello from south florida,
i heard about this show over a month ago. i am just wonder about so called "celebrities". i think lou and stephen are the ones have the talent for considered "celebrity." i have one question: what is wrong with the producers when they cast spencer and heidi. if they wanted ratings - wrong. spencer is a i can't say what is i am thinking right now. i know they are doing this for charity, but come on producers - you can do better

One of the best parts of the first running of this concept a few years ago was that the viewers got to vote a celebrity into a specific challenge, not just vote them off the show. I remember Julie Brown having to soak in a tank of leeches for a few minutes.
Is this something the viewers are going to get to do this season? Sadistic as it was, it was probably the one part of the original airing that was the most fun (and the part that kept us interested the most).

I watched the premier last night as I enjoyed the original years ago. Too bad this one is so disappointing. The editing was horrible. Too much time was spent on Spencer and Heidi. Really a couple of whiner, hypocrites whose claim to fame is being on a reality show...and now they are on another one. But I guess that inability to get along and brat like behavior is why they were cast. So there would be some controversy.
But what is the point of winning the challenge for food if the teams are going to share? Which they were not supposed to do.
And keeping your arms up challenge. The contestants are putting each other in the contest? Lou keeps his arms up unaided and the Lady is holding the bars.
Where are the judges and rule enforcers? What is the point of contests if the rules are tossed out and the rewards are shared.
Not to mention the horrible editing job that they finally get to a live contest at the end of the show and cut away in the middle of the contest because they are out of time. That just poor planning and time management.
Seriously I have no desire to watch the rest of the show now. I don't care so see Spencer bitch and moan. Or to watch point less contests. Or to have the climax of the show get cut off.
Disappointing.

So far I am enjoying the show, but I have one question...I know who all the people are, except for two...who the heck is Heidi and Spencer???????? I have not ever seen either of them, and all they kept doing for two shows was talk of how rich and popular they are. I am a reality junkie, and have no earthly idea who they are, but am sooooooooooooo glad that they left. I hope they left. I will be mad if they show back up....

So here is my concern. Supposedly you have rules. Such as last night only the guys where suppose to eat the food. It did not happen that way, what was the consequence? When a "celebrity" (I use the term very loosely due to those two people I have never heard of) states they want to leave, they are suppose to be allowed to leave is this correct? If so why did the two obscure people request to leave and then come back not once but twice? Are there really no rules that NBC will not follow in this "game"?
I thought it was suppose to be fans voting on what happend to the celebrities? Now it seems we are only allowed to vote them safe. Honestly I know many many people who will quit watching NBC if this show does not follow thru. And if those two "things" stay on the air.

have been looking forward to this show and it amazes me how stupid spencer and heidi are.
if i was there charity i would tell them that i dont need the money that bad.
can either one of them be anymore pathetic than the other?
i sure hope that they lose some of there fan base with there childish behavior.
and as far as there religion kick goes?
give me a BIG break.
the only god they worship is money.
i challenge them to live like they are poor for 1 week.
hell who am i kidding they cant even survuve in the jungle for 2 days.

I just found out they are all getting PAID to do the gameshow. It's not JUST for charity like I thought it was. The competition is for charity but they're getting paid to be on the gameshow. I can't believe the Pratts got paid lots of money for being on the show for, what, 2 days and just quitting!! They really didn't deserve it. Now I know why Spencer said "so we can get paid"...I am so disappointed that they are all getting paid that much for this (around $80,000)! Please correct me if I'm wrong. If they are all celebrities, do they really need that much? The show would be more meaningful if it really was JUST for the charities. Now I have to think about whether or not I should continue to watch the show...boo!

NBC - I feel that these so called celebrities have scammed you and that's what this guy is all about, Spencer Pratt, he is a scam artist. He uses people, he used his so called wife to get into the door of the Hills, he is living off of he 15 minutes of fame on the Hills. It is a shame that the Red Cross got there name pulled into it but he scammed them also. Spencer Pratt got on this program got two nights of publicity and it was worth a lot of money to him look we are all talking about him and his wife. NBC do what you should be good at and show them that they are not celebrities and they cannot push a multinational company around. I was astonished that this punk got on a telephone and talked to the CEO the way he did on the first episode and got away with it. You must really be hard up for ratings, or a winner. What ever happened to good TV, What ever happened to art and Actors and writers.
The Best thing that would happen would be that Heidi would loose her job on that stupid program the Hills, which I have never watched and all the so called celebrities would have to get jobs. They are all living the life of the MTV world by being followed by cameras everyday. When it comes down to a real script and real acting the truth comes out and there is no skill.
I think the people that run your production department and make the decisions on what shows to put on really need to be looked at as they are not doing a very good job. I come from a family that has been involved in entertainment all my life, I have always been successful and would never let my business put something on as poor as this.
Re runs are better- Buy the series The UNIT from CBS at least they draw 9.5 million people and they are a quality program which people like.
Enuff said for now!

I saw a blurb about that in a advertisement. They were talking about people calling in and wanting say (example) Heidi in a pit with snakes, or Spenser having bee's dumped on his head. (One can wish can't they?) on it being done too those two.
But back to the subject, from what it said we would get to decided things like that.

Spencer and Heidi are 2 of the biggest losers I have ever seen. I have no idea who they are out of having a "fake" wedding and trying to be celebrities, which they are not. Spencer going on and on about being a huge celebrity and that he shouldn't be there is BS! You are no one buddy......wake up and smell the coffee...you are on another reality show, that does not make you a star. The both of you are the biggest whiners and spoiled brats I have ever come across...I couldn't even stand to watch you on that show. Now that you are officially off I might actually start watching it. What a bunch of losers....go back to hollywood and live in your make believe world where you actually think you are somebody!!!! LOSERS!
That being said....I love Lou Diamond Phillips!! He is the one true, talented celebrity out there! Go Lou!

Your comments were by far the most honest evaluation of the Pratts and the show itself. Now here is someone who really does have high intelligence. Maybe NBC should hire you as a consultant because of all the comments on this board your's was by far the most honest and probably the most correct evaluation of this whole thing. Mr. Silverman definitely needs someone like you as at the very least a consultant who has such fantastic common sense and maybe since you have been in the entertainment business maybe you need to take over Mr. Silverman's job completely. It sure looks like Mr. Silverman has lost all sense of what good entertainment is that's for sure.

Why don't you just watch it online? Its right here on NBC. Or Hulu, or Youtube... or better read a book - FAR MORE entertaining (so far). I don't think they way local channels are run these days even NBC has the power to demand it be reran at a later time. You better bet is calling your local station - after they have stopped laughing at a request to rerun something that is tanking int he ratings you can try the above mentioned online places.
(I am giving this show a week, if it doesn't pick up I am bailing too like so many others... ) I was making a request to NBC, not you, and you are trying to rant at my post? Why don't you just stop watching the show, don't even give it a week. People like you most likely won't enjoy it anyway.

Here's an idea...they're getting too comfortable. How about for a challenge that you give them a compass, a map and directions on how to use the compass and map then make them pack up and send the teams on a hike for mile to a new area. The first team to arrive wins good food and the other gets the rice and beans. Once there they find a flint, wood and building supplies to build a shelter. Each team has to build one. Spice it up. Keep them on the move. Now that the brats are gone (crossing my fingers) the show has potential but it's getting extremely boring to watch.
Right now they obviously have a tarp or some kind of thing keeping the rain out. Lose it! Right now the show looks like Big Brother at Camp Costa Rica and Fear Factor. Make it like Survivor and Expedition then you'll have a show worth watching live instead of on DVR.

Here's a question: Anybody making donations? Any way to find out what the current donation amount is? The charities get the money divided up from a joint pool of all the donations based on what place the celebrity comes in.....so you can't donate to a specific charity. So, any one care to share if you've donated???????
md1965
Jun 4 2009, 08:57 AM
I will admit to donating $10. I did so for two reasons: (1) I admire these folks for being willing to be subjected to three weeks in the jungle, away from family, and to have done so for charity and (2) to endure all the abuse they have in the press and on messages boards like this. The charities all seem fine by me and I was happy to make a donation of what I could afford. I might even make another small donation before this ends.
I see these politicians and others raising millions of dollars and I often think about all the good that it could do in the broader society. Someone on this board said yesterday that they would rather donate directly to a charity of their choice. That sounds good but I know that I would never pick up the phone and make a donation to Shriner's Hospital or a pediatric aids fund. This is convenient and, in my small way, I hope it helps. I wish everyone would do that regardless of what they think of Heidi and Spencer and the show in general.

It had to be quite a shock for all of the residents to see all the lighting, camera, and sound trucks no doubt lined up for a mile. Not to mention the travel trailers lined another mile one for each crew and one for each “Star” You really do not think that when the show ends after filming each episode that these “STARS” ACTUALLY SLEEP IN THE LEAN TOES AND TARPS. We are talking about people who for the most part have come to love and live pretty high on the hog. The economy has reached even the elite or those who believe they are elite. I have always said the only people who will not be affected by the sad shape our money is in are the very poor, they already don’t have and are used to it. But I digress. All of these people (except for the Pratt’s) who I have never heard of have at one time been very wealthy. When one achieves that believe me they are willing to do anything to keep the mansion four.5 car garages and the maid. These once celebs need the work. Woopie Goldberg said it best the next step for these guys was working a street corner.
