Apparently, someone asked Galen something about Emily and he said he couldn't tell that but then he said that it was the right thing for the right reason. Yes, he is probably protecting Ari, maybe himself, too, and maybe his family.
I don't think Ari is a drug dealer, possibly an undercover drug agent. I do think she is really his sister. I am hoping that they will begin to bring in more of his family, just like they did for the Brady family in the 80's when they added the new family.

According to a specific spoiler on dayscafe days ahead, concerning a comment that Sami makes to Rafe on tuesday, the 25th's show, She makes a very nasty comment to Rafe. I love Safe and I love Rafe, but I hope he grows a backbone and lets Sami have it with both barrels.
To be a great love to Sami he has to learn to stand up to her when she's being a b*tch. However, according to a spoiler mentioned on this forums spoiler board, for August 26th; she should remember to make her words nice and sweet, she may have to eat them later not to mention a little crow.

Oh, there is also a spoiler that mentions Melanie & Brady saving somebody, why couldn't it be Rafe? Who might kidnap him? Top of the list; Stefano- next, the people involved in Emily's death- not to mention, the woman who left, threatening Rafe-- yes that' s exactly who I mean, Meridith. I think the woman is a fruitcake. I wouldn't put anything past her.
I understand getting to the bottom of the baby-switch is part of SAFE, since he's trying to help SAMI, but it's annoying waiting for that before we can learn more about this background. I want to know! bah. And i hope it's good and not lame.
As I've said elsewhere, as it goes with the good guys, he's gonna be put through the wringer for a while, be a hero in the meantime. My bets are on Stefano's clan doing it, but it could be something else. The heroes seem to suffer a bit.
I think he kept himself from life because of that secret, but thought enough time had passed, or he could keep it behind him, or thought Sami and her family was so irresistable, that he thought he could get passed it. But as it came back to haunt him, he figured he couldn't do it, couldn't have a relationship and still pack around the past.
