Just thought I'd ask what you were thinking of the recent GN's? I think their filling in a lot of plot holes that a majority claim were missing in volume 4. The recent one tells a little more of the episode Building 26. So do you think these GN's are getting the show back on track? I'm enjoying them very much.

I'm loving the Rebellion GN's, I really am.
If there were any GN's, that I'd recomend for those who don't read GN's, it would be the Rebellion GN's for sure.

I find the GNs usually add as many plot holes as they fill. They can be entertaining but ultimately the % of viewers that read them must be microscopic.

Their okay just wish those gn characters were in the show and HRG filled the biggest plot hole.

IMO if you want the full Heroes experience you need to read the GN.. you get posters that think they shouldn't have to read them but I disagree. You also should read the extra content, like last year when "wireless" would send you text messages and emails about Primotech during the off season, it was cool imformative and made you feel like part of the show.

Heroes has too many characters and stories to tell, you can't fit it all in 40+ mins a week. There are alot of "common knowledge" answers that are only in the GN's; alas not so common since many refuse to read them.

Its not like its a book and takes only ~5mins of your time to read them.. Heck I bet you could read them all in an hour or so.

In regard to the GNs opening more plot holes then they fill I totally disagree, again lots of fill ins between episodes.

If that's the case then the show is set up for failure. The reality is that the vast majority (I have not got numbers, but I would guess 90% +) never read the graphic novels. The on-air shows need to stand on their own. Introducing a charachter for one episode and then having them disappear with no explaination (except the GN) is not a good way to do buisness.

That's great that you get more out of the "Heroes experience" by engaging in on-line content, but for most viewers it's a TV show, nothing more.

I think in Season 1 a lot of viewers were involved in the online content. It was really awesome, they had real webpages (votepetrelli, primatech paper), and also the Hana events. It's what made Heroes special. I remember going to the primatech website, called their number and got a primatech message. It was fun!

But those things have pretty much died off..looks like the only thing they have now is the GNs. They get a lot of talk on their website.

Started reading them all, but got turned off of them due to spotty writing. I still check them out from time to time. The writing in the GNs is hit or miss, and there are a lot of issues the GNs bring up that have never really been adequately dealt with on the show.

For example, the company was portrayed as larger and more powerful than on the TV show, with hordes of paramilitary soldiers and many branches and teams of "one of us, one of them". A structure that would not evaporate just due to the loss of a few guys at the top.

They're nice, and they do add to the plot and explain some things not explained in the show, but it too bugs me that sometimes they assume people know the graphic novels. I agree that the show needs to stand on its own, but I wish that the GNs didn't just seem like "spinoffs" half the time. When people DO appear on the show, other than Hana, they usually have such minor roles you don't even NOTICE them. (The German (killed by Knox, had one line), Echo (you see him, then he's gone, assumed dead), the Company agents who were an engaged couple (died in one second after meeting Sylar, mentioned by someone once).

Personally i love the GN's because like its been said...it adds to the show...however even some of the graphic novels can stand alone...

the show does stand alone...

the problem i have is when people watch the show, come on here and complain about plot hole this and plot hole that...and then when they are told that the plot hole is filled by the GN...they respond with some reason as to why the GN's are stupid or a waste of time or that for them heroes is just a TV show...THEN have the gumption to complain that the story is incomplete because A, B and C were never answered.

instead of complaining, give the GN's a chance. some of them are phenomenal...i personally like Kill Squad, War Buddies and Rebellion the best...

comic books are the main reason why i like Heroes - and the GN's are comic books - some suck, but some are awesome... the rebellion series is, IMO, the best because it includes real, long-time characters from the show and new ones we havent seen before.. and the stories weave in and out of what has happened in the episodes. also it shows multiple specials working together as a team, their abilities working in conjunction with each other, all for a common purpose...

i also thought The Root series was awesome too - Julien Dumont had the ability to make clones of himself that can act independently and develop their own personalities depending on their surroundings... also the girl with night and telescopic vision was pretty cool too..

A few guys at the top?

You're joking, right?

Linderman? Dead
Arthur? Dead
Bishop? Dead
Nakamura? Dead

It wasn't an Organization that fell apart because of the loss of a few people at the top. It was an organization that fell apart because of the loss of almost the entire hierarchy (as far as I can tell, only Angela's left) as well as the fact that the final member (Angela) realized, finally, how far off course they had gotten and basically disbanded it.

Oh yeah, and this really should be in the GN forum so, off you go. *pushes a few magic buttons*
