Galen Gering, you broke my heart in a million pieces. It was so terrific to get to see you do something other than be the cop, FBI guy, or construction worker! This past week, in sensational episodes of Days of our Lives. Galen as Rafe and Alison Sweeney as Sami, delivered touching, raw and heartbreaking performances as parents' grieving the death of their little baby girl, Grace. Even though Sweeney, delivered raw peformances day in day out, (sans the Sami histrionics), it was Gering who really touched me.

In the scenes it was Rafe who was Sami's rock, yet he let himself feel the loss and pain of the little girl, he wanted to love and be a father to. To watch Rafe sometimes quietly, sometimes very emotional, go through the process of grieving the loss of a loved one seemed so real! Alison Sweeney as well pulled out all the stops to make this compelling week of soap watching. Kudos!

Till next time,
Michael

Thanks for sharing, this is great!

Galen totally deserves this shout out. He was subtle but playing his scenes for all he was worth with the emphasis on the undercurrents of pain and stress and needing to keep it under control for Sami to gain strenght from him. Much more difficult to do than wild anger or histrionics. Well done and congratulations to GG.

I totally agree with you. Everyone has done some outstanding acting on the Grace story. But I think that Galen's particular take on his character was outstanding and he certainly deserves a special acknowledgment.

Galen played it perfectly. You don't want a guy who cries every time you turn around, but you don't want one who seems to have no emotions whatsoever either. Rafe kept it together for Sami, but when he knew she wasn't looking, he showed just how much his heart was breaking. Great job Galen! I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves.

What a great review. GG has been so amazing in this s/l. It's totally breaking my heart. I can't wait until it's over and the writers move on to a new focus...

He and Ali rocked this storyline big time! I agree, while Ali had me in tears constantly, I would REALLY, REALLY lose it, when Galen broke down. Congratulations.
