This board is for banners/artwork only. Either to post what you have created or to make a request. Please remember that on the Daytime boards the banner size limits are 460 x 400 if you use one banner only or 460 x 200 each if you use two banners in your signature. Please keep in mind the Daytime boards are the only ones that allow this large of a signature. If you post on any of the other NBC boards the size limit is 460 x 200 total! If you post outside of the Daytime boards but use our larger signature allowance please make sure before each post you make to uncheck the enable signature box in post options on your post/reply, see example here! If you do not remove your signature you run the risk of receiving a warning or even an account suspension depending on where your warn level already is so please remember to disable your signature in each post you make outside of the Daytime boards if you use our larger size limits.
All of the other board rules still apply to this board and they are as follows just as a refresher.
OFFICIAL MESSAGE BOARD ETIQUETTE RULES
First things first. To begin, please take a look in the help section. There is lots of great info in there on how to use these forums.
In order to keep things flowing here on the NBC forums, we wanted to advise you all on how to help.
To avoid multiple posts on the same topic, either do a search or look beyond the first page of posts (on the bottom left is the back pages links). Any posts that are discussing the same will be merged and will be marked as merged. Please note that some merged topics may have a changed title to reflect the topic better.
If you can not find your post, go to the upper left where it says "Logged in as: <username>" and click on your name to bring up your profile. Go to profile options on the right and from there you can search all your posts and topics.
Regarding board rules:
All posts will be moderated following the rules dictated by NBC (see etiquette and legal stuff below). If you break any of the rules, your post will be locked or deleted and you may risk being banned from these forums. If you feel that a post or if a poster is offensive or breaks any rules, please use the nifty "Report" button which can be found on the bottom right of all posts.
ALL CAPS
I know, I know...everyone wants to be heard. With so many topics and posts, it's hard to stand out from the crowd. But did you know that TALKING IN ALL CAPS online indicates that you are shouting? It's a very aggressive way to post and it doesn't come off as being very friendly. Moderators can (and do) delete any topics or posts that use ALL CAPS.
SPAM
It's not just weird meat in a can...it's also annoying online behavior that creates a lot of static in message boards. Spam, for those of you who don't know, can be described as this: the posting of advertisements, abusive, or unneeded messages on forums. You may think it only applies to junk mail or ads, but it also applies to the unnecessary posts that don't contribute any useful information to a topic. Simple rule: don't do it. Ever. Moderators can (and do) delete any topics or posts that are considered spam.
OT POSTS
I think it's great that many of you have found meaningful friendships with other NBC.com users. I also think it's great that you want to engage them in conversations that have nothing to do with NBC programming (OT = Off Topic...in other words, a conversation that is not relevant to the topic.) I've noticed a number of similar OT topics in forums which end up burying the pertinent on topic information. For newcomers, this makes for a very poor user experience. Moderators have beeen instructed that they can (and should) merge similar topics, so please don't panic if you notice that your conversation was merged with another similar one. We're just trying to keep the information as easy to find as possible. Also, we have noticed a lot of OT posts lately. This is why the OT board has been created. Any OT posts not made in the Salem Place subforum will be moved there.
DIVERTING THREADS FROM THEIR ORIGINAL TOPIC
The moderating team has noticed an increase in threads that are going completly off topic and usually within the first 10 posts. This is disruptive to other posters and rude towards the Original Poster of the thread. Also this is happening mostly in threads that have the word "Lucas", "Sami", "Ej", "rape" or "Vendetta" in the topic title. Posters, just because the thread titile has one of those words in it does not make it right to turn that thead into the constant LUMI vs EJ/Sami debate or the "Rape" debate or a Lucas vs EJ debate.
EXAMPLE: A poster made a thread about EJ and Chloe and when I went in the thread most of the posts were about EJ/Sami and Lucas vs EJ posts. This is a EJloe thread and that is what should be discussed. You can disagree with the OP about their topic without going off topic.
There are already exsisting threads for this discussion and it is unfair to the posters who are making topics to try and discuss things involving those characters that does not involve the debated topics posted above. Remember people everyone does not want to debate or argue about that stuff. Please stay on topic from here on out. Warnings and or diciplinary action can be issued for those who do not follow this rule. Again you can disagree with a thread without going off topic.
NEGATIVE CHARACTER NICKNAMES
As you all know we do allow negative character names and banners here on the forum which is great and allows us to express ourselves in many ways. On that note, I just wanted to remind posters that we should leave the negative character names in the PRO/ANTI/DEBATE forums also known as the Love In The Afternoon subforums. As a courtesy to other posters please do not use those names in any of the other sub/forums.
ACTOR BASHING
Ok, ok, ok...so being a little critical of performances is one thing, but actors are people too. Whether you think their performances were good or bad, feel free to talk about it. But please do so as if you were talking to the actor face to face. You need to treat the celebrities (scripted or reality) the way you'd treat any other users on the boards. Moderators will delete any messages that are considered flames to actors or other users. Funny pictures in banners DOES NOT COUNT as actor bashing. Negative comments about characters, such as this character has bad hair, or that character is too short/tall/fat/skinny, etc DOES NOT COUNT as actor bashing.
POSTER BASHING
Poster bashingis not allowed. This should not need to be mentioned, but we will add it for those that did not clearly read what they agreed to upon joining. Discuss the characters and the show but not the other posters/fanbases. Mod/admin bashing will also not be tolerated. Both will result in a suspension.
BANNERS
Most of you love to display your artwork in your signatures. Because of the board width limitations and for the convenience of those who do not have high speed internet please limit your banner size to one banner of no more than 460 pixels wide by 400 pixels high or two banners of no more then 460 pixels wide by 200 pixels high each. You are allowed to have no more than two banners this size. Do not push the limits over these sizes as the administrator can (and will) remove your banner art. This size limit is for the Daytime boards only, the rest of the NBC boards are 460 x 200 total. Also please keep your banners clean, nothing pornographic please!
MULTIPLE SCREEN NAMES
We do not allow you to create more then one screen name. If we find you using more then one, we will delete it. If you create one to cause drama or bash another poster, we will delete that name or render it unusable, and suspend your original name. If you create yet another to avoid suspension, it will also be deleted and addtional suspension days will be added to your original screen name.
TROLLS
A troll is a person who enters an established forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, most often in the form of posting inflammatory, off-topic, or otherwise inappropriate messages. We've noticed a lot of trolls in the new show boards and we're deleting topics posted by said individuals. If you're a newbie and you want to establish yourself as a regular poster, please read the conversations and post relevant questions or posts in response. And you know, it never hurts to introduce yourself when you first join a new forum to let people know you're new and interested in joining the community. A little friendliness goes a long way.
Baiting
If you go into a thread and purposefully try and start an argument it is baiting and will not be tolerated on the board. We are noticing a lot of that lately. Many people make a thread talking about something they liked about their character and people come in and say something negative (when its clearly NOT a debate thread) just to rile up the other posters. This will result in a suspension.
Just a few reminders about the rules:
- no diverting thread topics from original topic
- no flames, insults, rude behavior
- no profanity, adult material or other sensitive content
- no spam, advertisements, or other irrelevant posts
- no spoilers in topic title
- no spoilers posted in forums other than the spoiler forum.
If you need any assistance, please feel free to contact one of the moderators on this forum.
On behalf of the moderating team here, thanks for your participation. Please, buckle up, keep your hands and feet in at all times, and enjoy the show.
