Michelle Trachtenberg plays nurse Chloe Payne, a naïve newcomer to the hospital staff on "Mercy."

A talented actress with poise well beyond her years, she is one of Hollywood’s brightest actresses in television and film, easily transitioning between mediums and genres. Trachtenberg can currently be seen in a guest role as Georgina Sparks on "Gossip Girl."

Trachtenberg has had a particularly busy year with several films already wrapped. She was last seen in "17 Again," a Newline film starring Zac Efron, Matthew Perry and Leslie Mann. She has also wrapped production on both "Against the Current" opposite Justin Kirk and Joseph Fiennes and Universal’s "Kids in America," directed by Topher Grace.

Trachtenberg was last seen in the Dimension film "Black Christmas," a remake of the 70s horror film with Oliver Hudson and Lacey Chabert. Also in 2006, she appeared in the independent film "Beautiful Ohio," starring alongside William Hurt and Rita Wilson. Chad Lowe directed the film set in 1970s following a family with a 14-year-old math genius son. "Beautiful Ohio" screened at the Sarasota Film Festival, where Trachtenberg was honored for her performance, and the Newport Beach Film Festival.

In 2005, Trachtenberg starred in Disney’s "Ice Princess," opposite Kim Cattrall and Joan Cusack, as Casey Carlyle, a girl whose dream is to become a championship figure skater. Trachtenberg also appeared in Gregg Araki’s independent drama "Mysterious Skin," opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt, based on the novel of the same name by Scott Heim. "Mysterious Skin" premiered at the 2004 Toronto Film Festival and screened at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. The film won the Jury Award at the BIFF Film Festival in 2004.

For television, Trachtenberg has had a guest role on "Law and Order," and prior to that a recurring role on HBO’s critically acclaimed series "Six Feet Under." She was awarded a "Young Artists of Hollywood Award" as Best Supporting Actress for her role as "Dawn" on the hit television show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

On the big screen, Trachtenberg impressed audiences at the age of 10 starring as Harriet in Paramount/Nickelodeon films "Harriet the Spy." For this performance she won the Best Lead Actress in a Feature Film Award from "Young Artists of Hollywood."

Trachtenberg began acting at the age of three when she appeared in her first television commercial. As she continued her transition from the small screen to feature films, following "Harriet the Spy," Trachtenberg starred opposite Matthew Broderick in the live action feature film "Inspector Gadget."

Her other feature credits include DreamWorks’ ensemble comedy "Eurotrip" and the independent film "Forever Together." Trachtenberg was also the host/narrator of Discovery Network’s hit show "Truth or Scare" which garnered her a 2004 Daytime Emmy Award nomination.

Named by Teen People Magazine as one of the "20 Teens Who Will Change the World," Trachtenberg has been an active spokesperson for R.A.D.D., DARE America, The Starlight Children’s Foundation, as well as many other charities. Her contributions to the fight against drugs earned her the prestigious responsibility of representing the youth of America at CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta, where she helped President Clinton launch "The Coalition for a Drug Free America" campaign.

Although a native New Yorker, Trachtenberg currently resides in Los Angeles

I LOVE Michelle Trachtenberg!!! I just hate that the show didn't teach her the way to pronounce Lancaster. I lived in the area and anyone from Lancaster does NOT pronounce it the way you pronounce Newscaster. It's more like LankistTer than Lancaster (accent on the LAN). It bugs almost anyone from the area. Lol. I thought it was stupid when I first moved out there, but now it bugs me too!!

where are Michelle's uniforms comming from...they are so cute! I want some for work if anyone knows where to find the ones with the lace on them in the flower print. thanks

Love Michelle T. and enjoy the show, but as an RN I have to question the writer's (and director's) choices of naive things she says and does. "How can someone that age have an MI?" Really?????
