It's far too late to be thinking about this, but I feel the need to rant. So bear with me.

It occurred to me quite some time ago that John and Marlena have actually been apart a lot more than they've been together. If you include her deaths, his death, kidnappings, interference, etc., it adds up to more time than they have actually been together. Not just married, but together. Then it occurred to me today that while they get by with a wedding without an interruption more often than not, which is rare in Salem, their honeymoon is either interrupted or cut short.

So naturally, being a fan of the couple, I assume that this couple is just doomed from the start. It's much more fun for the writers to do turmoil than it is to do bliss.

Then the rumors start circulating around in my head. I mean what if they're true? What if these characters are never together because these two actually can't stand the sight of each other? It seems crazy, but the more I think about it, the more it seems true. And it all just seems to fit into place.

I don't know, maybe I'm crazy or maybe this is just one of those random thoughts at one in the morning that makes you crazy until you talk about it. So now that I've gotten that off my chest, perhaps I can sleep...

Blame it on the John and Marlena withdrawal if you must.

Well, that way I look at it is,this happens with EVERY soap couple I love, their apart more than together, but boy do I love the together part,it's the soap opera way,if your couple is happy for a certain amount of time than they have no real story and there backburned (hench summer 2007 for John and Marlena). For the writers it's better to cause conflict cause since its a soap it will be more entertaining than making a couple love dovey all the time.

That's true. The thing that's true about them though, is I even love them when they're apart. laugh.gif

Because they're never actually apart. They're seperated by desperately wishing they weren't. And Dee and Drake were always so good at angst.
