I've tried to stay out of this back and forth on threads about EJami, but this post I had to respond to. I've been an EJami fan since the beginning and still consider myself a fan. Am I blind to the fact that the writers keep Sami from showing any feeling toward EJ now? No. In May 2008, she showed a lot of feeling toward the man and then abruptly changed, which made me angry and quite frankly made no sense at all. My feeling in my gut is that the headwriter currently does not want to write for them as a couple and has been fighting it tooth and nail.

Here's the thing though: I cannot get out of my head the chemistry I see between the actors who play EJ and Sami. And I wonder, why on earth would a show make a decision to destroy something that comes along once in a blue moon on a soap? When EJ and Sami danced together on the pier in the Summer of 2006, that was pure magic. That was something I hadn't seen on a soap since the 1980's and it was exciting to watch and it brought me back to soap operas when I had given them up for dead. But EJ and Sami on that pier took me back to a time when soaps specialized in that kind of magic. Why the show decided to take the path it did will forever be a mystery to me. Even in the scenes where EJ and Sami were playing a cat and mouse game, there was a spark that made me watch and want more.

I guess in a way, I am realistic. I know that chances for EJ and Sami are slim to none because TPTB refuse to a story for them. But it's hard to shake the feeling I had, I still have when the actors are given good scenes together. It's rare. It's splendid. But c'est la vie, you know if the show doesn't want to follow through there's nothing I can do about it.

And that is precisely why I've given up watching Days once again and have no plans ever to watch again.
^^I do think the show is playing a game right now. They do throw crumbs toward EJami fans. I've fallen for them over and over again. But I think the last one was the last straw. It was so insulting that I said, "That's it."

The truth is that Days cannot afford right now to lose one viewer. They are in third place with ratings that just a couple years ago would have put them into last place. Their margin for error is zero. So they want to give EJami fans teeny morsels of hope to keep them viewing through the crucial sweeps period when they set their ad rates. The size of the EJami fanbase has been debated. Who knows how big or small it is or isn't. But I know with 100% certainty the Days right now is skating on thin ice by completely abandoning a segment of their viewers. They know that a huge part of the EJami fanbase is comprised of viewers that advertisers pay money for -- so they are trying to make sure those viewers don't drop away during this time by letting out little spoilers that turn out to be nothing.

In any case, I only pay attention to ratings now. And I know that in the 18-49 during the past few weeks, Days has fallen to an unacceptable level.

I suspect there are EJami fans like me who have said, "Bye Days" and have no plans on tuning back in. But who knows, maybe TPTB feel they now can afford to write off this segment of the viewing audience because of the new additions on the show. Look at just how many fans have to ejami, there is no doubt that the number of viewers most want them .. So giving up also like that most of us think the writing is on the face is no longer a must see series .. the players you add not enhance the ritinig .. you build the story of ejami like luek and laura. This is just the same story, days of our lives full good actros, but ejami adedd you very much for a series you can not win that many times you try to promote safe that does not work most of the viewers do not like them fans of safe are lumi fans Start to show us more feelings toward ej but from sami more love because if you really do not want to cenceld the series until next year give us ejami lisen to us.
