He seems to have an issue with Rafe,even before all the Grace stuff happened he's a stick up his rear about Rafe,pretty sad,he hates Rafe's guts,but he doesn't bad mouth his daughters rapist much these days.

My guess is maybe that Roman could be the one that Arianna is related too and we know Ari and Rafe had a fallining out,so maybe thats why.

I don't see it as him hating Rafe he is just being an overprotective father and who could blame him with the men that were in Sami's life in the past his comment to her about being weary of Rafe or something is simply because he does not want to se her hurt by a man again. Men in her past professed to love her but would then walk however Rafe is not doing that and if you remember a few months back he told Rafe that "you might be the only man that has what it takes to love Sami as she deserves "and he has given them his blessing and even thought it was a great idea that Rafe was adopting Grace. Also remember that he advised Sami that it was important what she thought of Rafe and not what Nicole was telling her because he knows and has seen the love between them remember when he walked in on them at the police station. So if anything I think Roman is pro SAFE but telling Sami to be cxareful as any father would, Also I think Rafe like Ari might be working for Roman to bring down Stefano and EJerk so that spoiler about him telling her to stay away from Rafe may be for her protection. And it's not as if Sami will listen to him lol cause we know she wants Rafe badly. "the best thing that ever happened to me" in the words of Sami Brady.

Yes, and it was Roman that set Sami in the right direction to finding Rafe at the airport after all. It was his conversation with her that helped her to make up her mind to go after Rafe. However, I do have to wonder about the writing. Like you said, it wasn't that long ago that he gave them his blessing. Plus Roman has to have some access into Rafe's personal history, especially considering that Ari is working working for him, and I'd think that after Sami asked him about Meredith, that he'd checked into the situation.

I think that Roman may have been using some reverse psychology on Sami, too. He more than anyone should know that if you tell Sami to do something, she's going to do the exact opposite. And, what happens when Nicole tells Sami that Rafe is dangerous, or when Lucas started talking bad about him? She starts defending Rafe. So maybe that was Roman's way to get Sami to say what she really feels about Rafe....which is that she knows he isn't any of the things that Nicole said about him and that she loves him.

I might be worried if Roman was telling Rafe to stay away from Sami, but he isn't. I think even if he did, it would still be about making Sami see what she really feels. Like hey, Rafe, stay away from her and I promise you she'll come running LOL

So I am far from a Roman fan...After Sami and Carrie grew up always felt he had no time for Sami.

But of course, the concern he is showing is refreshing...but hey couldn't he have pointed out "Rafe lost his daughter too. Maybe he's acting the way he is because he's grieving."
