Curtis Stone returns to the ranch to teach the players about healthy cooking, and to give them a pop quiz! Then the players get a chance to keep everyone safe from elimination.
TBL rating is TV-PG-L
TVPGL.
Parental guidance is suggested.
The program contains material that parents may find unsuitable for younger children. It may have an inappropriate theme, and it may contain moderate violence (V), some sexual content (S), and strong language (L) or suggestive dialogue between characters (D).

I notice that we are prominently displaying the rating... mayhaps we are getting a wee bit tired of people coming here to rant about this "family" show and bad language.

I just wanted to give a fair warning just in case someone misses the rating for whatever reason.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion here, but I believe the cursing topic has been discussed to the
point of ad nauseam

this, of course, is my opinion.

I'm glad to see some attention given on the show to the "calories in" side of the equation.
As much attention as is given to the work outs, it is the food which is the real determiner in weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight. Calories-in is the one side of the equation that you truly completely control. Calories-out you can only augment with exercise, but there is so much more that goes into it that you have no control over.
There are certain drinks that you can order at Starbucks that amount to 66% of your daily calories (1200 Calories). No amount of exercise can make up for bad food choices.

I'd really like to see the dietician explain caloric inputs required for normal daily function of an adult as opposed to calorie loss or burned during workouts.
As far as language, my ten year old watches the show with us and understands that people make poor word choices just as they make poor food choices for emotional reasons. Monkey see does not mean monkey do unless monkey choose to do as monkey saw done.

I too hope they spend some time talking specifically about nutrition. However, if they follow the example of previous seasons, then they will probably spend around 10 minutes talking about how great it is to eat healthy and then rush into the next challenge or temptation. Unfortunately, that's what happens when you are dealing with an entertainment show rather than a documentary.

I cant wait! Only 15 minutes til showtime..I wish my computer and tv were in the same room.
I caught an old episode on cable today that I never saw before, Caroline was the host and it was a special edition family vs family show. It was sooo different!
The stage for the scale was piled with junk food that they had to walk past and they wore baggy shorts and tank tops to weigh in, after the first sport bra/ baggy shorts weigh in.
It was pretty lovey dovey with the trainers too, but maybe because there were two teen-age girls there.
Nobody got voted off and they did most of the work at home.
Some excelled, some didnt do so well.
Very interesting!
Anyway....here we go, good luck everyone!

Thank you! Not only does it take away from the real purpose of the show, but it feels as though there is a dark cloud hanging overhead. There are ways to be proactive and approach the network and producers instead of continually whining and making the other community posters who came here to root for the team feel uncomfortable.

Jillian kind of contradicted herself. In the gym she said don't starve yourself, but when talking to her group she did calories in = calories out. That isn't completely true, and that is why second week's are always so low. The body gets shocked and goes into starvation mode unless a certain amount of calories gets consumed. In starvation mode the body will do whatever is necessary to keep its perceived energy needs, even if it means slowing down its metabolism. So the contestants need to keep up their calories intake to limit the starvation mode of the body
Fortunately Bob empasizes the 1200 calorie intake need.
