so I saw the promo for Ink, that was Ink right? It showed Peter and Hiro meeting up again. Now either Hiro travels back in time and messes things up again, or they really do meet each other in this present. I hope they do, I never understood why the writers wouldn't let Hiro and Peter become friends. Maybe now that Ando is married with his sister, he can become pals with Peter. Any one else see this?

Edgar refered to Peter as an empath. Perhaps Hiro is going to help Peter get his original ability.... since Hiro is trying to do his bucket list thing. Then next season (yeah... I know it's a little to far off for speculation but oh well) they can have the future with Sylar being President and the other Heroes being against him.

I think you are pretty close is this assesment, however I want to add that I believe the healer has the key in this.

The Healer is important, but I doubt he'll restore Peter's powers.

My reasoning, the writers want Peter to work together with the other heroes. Of course no matter how strong you are your better in a group.
