This was a good episode giving some hidden background on everyone!

The public urination/you're adopted scenes were great.

I only got to half pay attention to this episode, but it looked really great.
  • I'm loving more and more the dynamic between Ann and Leslie. I wish I had a girlfriend in my life like that.
  • Ron is THE MAN. Why is he embarrassed about his saxophone playing? Maybe I missed something there. Also, "And they were both b!tches!" rolling.gif
  • And that end with the cop (sorry, I can't remember his name, but you know, Lewis C.K.'s character) and Leslie was just so sweet. I really like him, he's a keeper. I hope he gets signed on.
  • I missed most of the background thing, but it looked good and I can't wait to see the rest.

Ann or Leslie?

Which one do you think you are?

Ron Swanson totally rocks!

Haverford's marriage of convenience... Does that mean Miss. Canada doesn't let him touch her? Is that why he doesn't feel guilty about hitting on other women?

1) That reminded me a lot of Ron Burgundy from Anchorman. Hmm...Duke Silver, Ron Burgundy....I wonder if that was intentional.

2) I think his name is Dave.

I think that is exactly what it means.

I thought this episode was very funny, really enjoyed it. Poor Leslie!! That must have been so embarrassing when she realized what she had done the night before drunk! I'm really glad he's turning out to be a good guy and totally looks beyond her craziness.

And I must say, this episode was a very good follow up to last week's episode as far as Tom goes in my book. The redeeming quality of marrying your friend so she can stay and work here in the US was a very nice touch. It must be very frustrating for him pretending to be married, not getting to enjoy the physical aspects of a relationship, and then constantly being shot down my the women he hits on (remember last week's close when he mentioned that the only result he's gotten from handing out keys to his apartment is being robbed ... twice.). I imagine we will see Tom grow in the next few seasons and learn better ways of attracting women then the lame and sometimes creepy ways he's using now.

I don't think I'm like either of them. I guess Ann would be the closest, but not that close.

I'm not looking for one of them in particular, I just kinda regret not having that female-friendship dynamic. I just don't have many of those in my life and never had. No one to get another girls' perspective on things or to have them watch my back. I'm finding this hard to explain. I've had a few male friendships that were close and meaningful, but it's different.

The closest to that would be to my sister (and it's actually pretty close) but I'm six years older than her and I feel at this age I'm still a little ahead of the curve in comparison. We're not dealing with life together at the same time. smile.gif

Oh Gosh, that sounds like a real downer. Sorry folks, didn't mean that.

Thanks for clearing that up, Wedd! It was driving me crazy. Off to finally watch the episode without interactions now. smile.gif

another good episode. i really like that Dave guy for some reason. he'd be a great addition to the show if he stays on. i like how he handled the situation - calling that the first date, and wanting to see her for the second.

I know exactly what you mean. I have no close female friends. I have friends, and I guess I am closest to the two who chose me to be their kid's godmother, but we're not Sex and The City close. I mean, I don't talk to them every day, text them every minute, talk about our love lives. I just never really bonded with girls-I had a rough childhood and girls can be mean and I will leave it at that.

My closest female friends are on The Office boards, in fact.

HOLY COW! This episode was great! To wit:

- Torple
- Whiz Palace
- Ron "Duke Silver" Swanson...are you kidding me! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Just listen to what he says as "Duke!"
- Now we know why Tom hits on every chick...his marriage is a total sham!
- I feel bad for that fat guy. It's bad enough that he's fat, but now we know he likes to pee in public, he's adopted, and he's had plastic surgery!
- Taliban clothes!
- And this is the cake-taker: "Tom-mato Sauce!" Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!! "Rontanamo Bay" wasn't quite as good, but still...

Man, that was a funny, funny episode! I feel like this show is hitting on all cylinders. Keep it up, PnR writers. You're about to explode...

I love all the characters on P&R and NBC better give this great show a real shot to find an audience.
The only character I don't care for is Mark it's not even the character as much as the guy playing him. Bad casting there. I think they were going for a Jim like thing, but it don't work and there is NO chemistry between him and Ann. Write Mark off and introduce a new character quick, he's a drag on the show.

I've been lurking for a while, but I've decided to go ahead and contribute to the boards since I've kinda really gotten into this show. No joke.

I just want to establish how much I love, love, love, Dave the cop. He is so very sweet and understanding of Leslie and I just hope that she and he work out for good. I have this bad feeling that something is going to happen to mess it up, but I hope that whatever inevitably occurs isn't permanent. What a great character! Now lets see he and Leslie get to know each other better on camera.

I'm also a big Ron Swanson fan. As one might imagine, I was delighted to see his alter-ego, Duke Silver, perform with his sax. Once again, what a wonderfully written character. There are so many more layers to him (and a lot of the other characters) than meets the eye, and its so fun getting to see those pulled back.

I'm interested see what becomes of Mark and Ann. Its good to see Mark being less of a jerk than he was when the show started, but I'm not sure how much I believe it. I can tell Ann still feels a little hesitant and unsure around him as well, but its interesting to watch their relationship unfold. I'd also like to know where this leaves Andy.

I wasn't really into this show when it first came on, but I'm starting to see my disinterest fade into intrigue. Its not yet a high priority show for me, (like the Office or 30 Rock tongue.gif ) but I see it becoming so with time.

Well, Ann should feel hesitant for 2 reasons:

1. She needs to see if Mark has really changed, and if she really likes him.

2. She does not choose well when it comes to men.
