Days is casting Gabby, the younger sister of Rafe and Arianna. The teen will play into the story with Will/Mia/Chad

I'm not sure that I like the idea of another teen on the show. I thought their storylines were to end around this time.

I guess Will might move on to Gabby in order to get back at Mia for moving on with Chad.

I suppose that makes sense. It's weird though - Sami with Rafe and Will with his little sister.

I think they should have brought Chloe's little sister Joy on the show before making another Hernandez but maybe it will be good. I just hope they get the right actress. Calling Selena Gomez, j/k.

I'm not really interested in the teen stories either. I'm watching some of the Mia stuff unfold only because it has to do with the baby switch

Well the teen stuff is how they started with Shawn and Belle and Phillip and Cholie. I think it will play into future great stories.

Oh great I sure hope she's not his little sister from Passions.

I like his hair they way it's fixed in my banner, with my avatar maybe it was windy that day, lol. Sometimes I wonder if the hair and makeup crew get mad at some of the actors and take it out on their hair.

That is the only reason I am watching the teen stuff too otherwise it wouldn't hold my interest.

I wish they'd explain why the Hernandez's were in an orphanage... and if there is a teen sister why didn't the FBI man step up to the plate and be legal guardian? This addition makes no sense.

I think the reason her name is Gabby is because it's short for Gabrielle. Rafeal, Arianna, & Gabrielle-- the children in this family tend to go by nicknames.

I liked the idea of Rafe being an only child, because it really gave you a sense of why he's so closed off and secretive of his life. So imagine my surprise when they decided to bring in Arianna as Rafe's sister, but I eventually opened up to Arianna. But now we have to subject ourselves to another sibling. Why can't we just have Rafe and Arianna; I don't understand why there has to be another member of their family living in Salem. To make matters worse, she's a teenager and I can't stand all of the teenagers in Salem, as it stands, except Mia.

I would too,but maybe their trying to stear Galen as far away from his PASSIONS character,on PASSIONS he was the older brother who's father walked away from the family and he had to step up and take care of everyone.

Rafe wasnt in the orpahanage, the nuns ran one and worked with youth. Rafe was in a gang and was headed down a bad way until he crossed the path of sister Agnes who straightened him out. This was mentioned about 12/3 when Rafe took Sami back to the convent to see sister Theresa (after she had snuck there on her own). No mention ever on his father. At Christmas, when he made tamales, he said his mother wasnt far from where they were, that was it on her.

This sister maybe one that their father ran off with or was sent off to live with an aunt/uncle. I speculate that there is some sort of shady or abusive history in the past with the parents. There is a signifigant age difference between Rafe and this sister (obviously she is young enough to be his daughter, if she is to fit in with Will etc). I am wondering if we will find a connection to Lawrence Alamain in this storyline. I had thought oh they had Carly find Rafe so that later on he would owe her and he join forces with Bo to help her but now I think there is much much more here.

I like it, with the way the Mia/Will/Chad story is playing I figured they would bring in someone, I'm happy to see her connected.

agreed. I have to go watch that again. There's something with their family history that's very negative, and they've had tough times. I do think Rafe had to care for them somehow, which would explain his need to take care of people, rescue people, whatever. Maybe.

He's especially protective toward the women in his life, which is why I suspect an abusive father, stepfather or male authority figure. He told Sami that Ari saw that trait as a weakness when it came to him developing long term relationships.

Remember when Rafe saw Sami at the townhouse and he said about EJ - "a man would leave a father like that!!!" and "If I had a son like Johnny, with a woman like you, I wouldn't be so worried about what my Daddy thought!" I don't think he was only talking about EJ, I think Rafe's father is very much like Stephano and Rafe did leave him and became FBI to be the total opposite of what is father was/is.

That is great news, I hope she has spunk like her older sister. I hope she is going to be paired with will, because I love Chad and Mia together.

now? We have Rafe's sister, Nicole's mother, Carly and Vivian, on top of Will, Mia, Chad,
his friend (male and female) and before that Melanie....when is it going to stop?

I understand your frustration, but there has been a constant rotation of characters since Days started.

Soap Communities don't exist in a vacuum, or it would be very boring. You need to have new, outside influences to bring fresh storylines and cover all age groups interests. Think of all the great characters we would have missed if everything stayed the same! EJ, Nicole, Kate, Brady, Melanie, Bo, Hope, Lexie, Nick, Chelsea and even Sami... and the list goes on, and on, and on!!!

I think her being added to this mix will be an added side benefit of her joining the cast, I am sure she must factor in as more than just their sister.

There is a signifigant age difference (enough so that Rafe could be her father, if she is Will/Mia age). Might she only be a half-sister? Rumour has it that Carly has a child that Lawrence kept from her, might this be it?? Or does she factor in to the drug bit (is she the reason Ari got involved with wanting to bring down the dealers?)?? or related into the story about Emily's death somehow? Something more important has to be there.

All that has ever been said is that Rafe lived there for awhile. They have not said whether Arianna lived there or not, and Rafe has never said he was an orphan. His parents may have sent him there because he was in and out of gangs and they felt the nuns needed to get their hands on him and straighten him out, which is what Sister Agnes did.

I too don't believer they will be FULL blood brother and sister. (Rafe and Ari will have a different mother or father) but, you never know. My youngest sister is 13 1/2 years younger then me.

Rafe and Ari may have had a hand in getting her sent to live with someone else to protect her from whatever the bad situation was that they were growing up in/or around.

Might make for some good angst filled moments.

And off the subject, did anyone see Chelsea on Heroes? I'm behind on my shows - I DVR them - so I've only seen her on the season premiere, and I didn't make it all the way to the end of that episode yet! lol

I'm not-so-patiently waiting for more hernandez back-story.

no one cares for the teen storyline and the hernandez's are really annoying yet they keep expanding and taking out valublue airtime. this is why i havent been watching days as of lately

I wonder if there was all this angst when the Brady's were brought on the canvas. If we do not get more bloodlines in that town...well we already have had a uncle dating two of his nieces.

I'm excited to have "new blood" and I love the hernandez's so I am excited for this new character.

Next thing we will be changing to Passions. I would rather see Sami back with EJ than Rafe and his fam on the show.

There's a reason Passions was cancelled and it was because it sucked and there wasn't a lot of people who cared to watch it.

Why are they bringing on more members of a family when they can't find enough to do with the ones who are here?

Do they not realize they're going to chase away the diehard Salem fans in their sad attempt to woo Passions fans, even though there weren't enough to keep it on the air?

I finally finished watching it, her ending sucked! And did you see Owen?! He was the water guy in the same episode! Man, he looked totally hot!

The Hernandezzzzzzzzzz is absolutely ghastly and screams "Boring Boring Boring!".
DAYS better not be Passions 2.0 because we all know what happens to 1.0
I'm sure all the fans would not want that to happen.
