If written right, if the writers actually put their heads together, they could write gold for this couple. Two "flawed" people together, children of archenemy families, EJ always conflicted and Sami always a step ahead of him.... Oh, the possibilities are endless. And not only that, but the lead actors of this show, AS and JS, are outstanding together. The possibilities would be endless if they only took advantage of the outstanding talent and chemistry of team Jamison.

That is exactly what it is a crumb...a bone...anything to keep them watching because frankly all fan bases are running out of steam. For all we know what is "still there" can be anything..or nothing...or something....in the end...she has a kid by the guy that she knows of so obviously she cares about him in that "father of my kid" sort of way. Being an ejami fan, this makes me happy to an extent. You see, I think it is a bone. I have always thought that this is an ejami story and I know that they are coming. But I think ejami fans have been pulled along for a long time now and I don't see anything seriously happening until feb sweeps.
At this point any interaction between the two.especially where they are not yelling at each is awesome...These 2 actors really play well off of each other and it is very enjoyable to watch. And I know that sami has deep feelings for ej and is not indifferent to him at all.
So count me as happy! But not excited yet!

I absolutely agree the "something still there" could be anything and most likely nothing ,when it's finally revealed.
Frankly I never saw and alleged "chemistry" ever, so for me to believe Sami loves junior the way she loves Rafe and loved/loves Lucas..they gotta start developing some( cuz it ain't ever showed up on my screen).

Everything is conspiring to keep them apart, yet slowly (ok, agonizingly slowly) they continue to make their way back to each other. They are not yet in a place that they are ready to be re-united, each has issues to resolve. and a rush back would not be healthy right now. I see at least two more interloper attempts at interference. (A temporary Safe reunion and the EJ drug story and meltdown).
Their scenes together these past two weeks have been breath-taking and poignant. And they are utterly pointless UNLESS the root for couple is EJami.
Finally, tptb are having both James and Ali begin to give hints in their interviews that EJ loves Sami, they have feelings for each other, that there is something there...
James and Ali are definitely in the leading actor and leading actress categories, and that's where supercouples are made. Supoorting actors and actress have another function entirely-they are the interlopers.
Shows work, hope, and pray for actors to come along with the skills and chemistry to create a Supercouple and Days knows EJami is the future. When Alison Sweeney and James Scott are on screen together, every other might as well be a piece of furniture. They are compelling.
EJami is STILL inevitable.
Great post indeed!!! I totally agree with your analogy of EJ and Sami. The moment that they are onscreen together. Everyone else is a faded picture in the background. Alison and James have great chemistry with almost everyone on the show. However, their presense together reigns surpreme in the chemistry department. Some may say. I don't the see the chemistry in EJ and Sami. Well, I sure don't see it in Rafe and Sami. I have been an avid viewer of Days for more than 25 years. I saw the same type of chemistry in Bo and Hope back in the early days. I have to say. EJ and Sami have the same level of chemistry as compared to Bo and Hope. Chemistry is in the eye of the beholder. EJ and Sami have oodles of it.

Yes. Sami wants to see the good in EJ, she has said as much to Rafe. I won't hate him, I need to see the good in him for my son. Her compassion for him does not mean she is in love with him or wants to be with him. I'm glad she tries to find his humanity, but remember EJ has never cared about Sami's happiness -ever! His desires have always come first. EJ as Sami's Achilles Heel will always be the better storyline.

I love when they are enemies like they should be but trying to make them into something they are not, sorry that is when I tune completely out of Days I don't care how long I have been watching I will not stay and see two people on a soap, that I love, that I can't stand together. So no I shouldn't get use to the taste because if the writers ever put them together I'm gone for good. There are other soaps on TV that I can watch or other shows. I watch Days to enjoy it and the day that I don't enjoy it I'm gone plain and simple.

Sami will never willingly commit to a bad guy!!! So...unless the writing team are nuts, they will never make EJ a good guy. Unless he totally gives up the murder and mayhem (and now drug running) that has been such a huge part of his life, how can they ever truly be together?

Apparently there is something there....TWO KIDS! The woman has preached to anyone who will listen that she does not love,hell I don't even think the woman likes the man, right now. What is she gonna have to do to prove to anyone that the only thing that is between Ej and Sami is Johnny and Sydney when the truth is out! And yes they have been thru a lot. But if memory serves me, most of their "little adventures" they were ever on where either Ej fault or Stefano's. The man's daddy tried to kil the woman

I like Sami with Rafe. He makes her happy. She makes him happy. But, I think they should slow down and work through all their issues before committing.

I believe the writers will be nuts and turn EJ into a good guy (or at least mostly good). They did it with Jack Devereaux. He was very evil, and they turned him into a good guy.
Make Rafe the bad guy. He could be a murderous lunatic for all we know. Wouldn't that be a twist? He really did kill Emily, blah blah. That would make Galen happy too, since he wishes he could play a bad guy.
I can't wait for the Sami/Stephano/EJ scenes. They will be awesome.

Now that you mentioned Jack, I see many similarities to the way his character was INTRODUCED to Salem and how EJ came on board. Jack was introduced as a villain and he wedged his way between another popular couple *Kayla and Steve*. He was charming but manipulative, he was also self loathing which is where his redemption played in. From the minute he raped Kayla he was plagued by guilt. However, Jack Deveraux wasn't evil...he was conflicted he didn't like himself for who he was. IF the writers are going to do that with Ej then this is the perfect opportunity to do that with his character...but remember with Jack it took years to turn the tide around for his character even after he admitted hating himself for what he did particularly to Kayla and Steve. The things we've seen about Ej and how he's acted thus far since his introduction to Salem has painted him as the opposite. Someone who only cares about himself and his feelings and thoughts above anyone else's. Since you mentioned Jack I will tell you, I didn't like Jack at first (much like I don't like EJ)...but over the years his character grew on me and I completely fell in love with him when he was redeamed because of his undying love for Jennifer and their love story. I can see the same thing happening if and when EJ falls for someone (or someone falls for him) that isn't Sami. I used to be a Lumi fan, but it wasn't anything abuot Lumi that made me change. It was simply my preference for Ejami and the chemistry and similarities between characters. EJ and Sami get each other because they are the same. They both did despicable things to people they professed to love. Sami to her own family, nonetheless. I like what they bring on screen, and, I think they look good together as well. I think that preference, pure and simple, is what changes our minds, and nothing else. I like James Scott, you like Bryan Datillo, Safe fans like Galen Garing. JMO. Lumi I like as friends, and Lucas as a comedian.
I see a lot of similarities between EJ and Jack Deveraux, and I think they are going in the same direction with him. EJ's been on the show for almost four years, so I would say that's a long time. And Sami is the woman that EJ always loved to the fullest extent of his capablity of loving someone.
Stephano and Victor are the evil characters on this show. They are both equally despicable and guilty of henious crimes,except that Victor has a comedian side that we all love. His one liners are hillarious. Sami isn't affraid to face Stephano, and I for one, won't miss it for the world.
