I've watched Days for 25 years, but SAFE got me hooked all over again. A couple that's been well written and well paced, just like back in the glory "Days" of the 80's!

I watched DOOL in the 80s and early 90s and then stopped for many years. I was watching on occasion over the past few years, but on October 31, 2008, I became an everyday watcher again. I love SAFE. Great job to all - and writers, keep it coming!!!!!
I grew up on Days.
Left it but always kept my eye on Ali because she was so cool and great.
And then last Halloween, the instant chemistry and electricity between Sami and Rafe hit the screen and Days became a TIVO favorite. I am now a Days junkie again (like the highschool VCR days.)
Thanks Ali & Galen. Thanks to the writers, directors, hair, make-up, lighting, etc. for our couple. I do believe these two can outshine any of the "supercouples" from the "glory days". With Sami and Rafe we have new Glory Days.

Thank you to Ali Sweeney and Galen Gering for their top notch performances of Sami and Rafe! The magic they have spun around this couple have me caught in the weave! The writing has been so touching and poignant, I find myself replaying the scenes to relive the moment again. I am completely hooked on this storyline and I wait with baited breath for their loving reunion. I applaud the thought of the writers as this story builds and moves forward. It's definitely the best of Days!

I have been watching Days since 1965, and this is one of the best love stories since the advent of Days.
The writing of this couple has been outstanding. Cannot wait to see the daily eposides. I watched Ali
grow up on Days. She is a beautiful awesome young woman who has delivered some of her best
acting this year. Galen is outstanding and the pairing of these two people has made them the
new supercouple of Days. I love everything about them. Look forward to what is in store for

As a long time DAYS fan, I can only say SAFE is one of the BEST couples DAYS has ever had. Their poignant storylines and fabulous chemistry have just melted my heart over and over again.

We have watched our couple grow from two "completely different" characters into a couple who is not complete unless they are together. Sami and Rafe continue to put the other first, as they think of, pray for, and dream of each other. We have fallen in love with them as they have fallen in love with each other. Even though sometimes we want to shake one or the other in order for them to realize the depth of their feelings, we understand that, given all they've gone through separately and together, this is a journey through which they have to find their own path. Days' writers, directors, producers, and crew have succeeded in creating a couple who takes our breath away, makes us laugh and cry, and completely buy into their story. Ali and Galen, what can I say? You make each scene memorable and leave us waiting for the next. Thank you Days for creating must-see television!

My experience was similar - watched faithfully in the late 70's & 80's and off and on for years. Then, last year I was on a leave from work and started watching regularly again. Truthfully, it was rather painful to watch through the summer of '08 (elevator sex? yuk! film noir? yawn!) and I'd almost given it up. But then.......Rafe came on the scene and POW! You could FEEL the excitement immediately! The SAFE storyline reminded me of all those wonderful storylines written in the late 70's and 80's that kept me glued to the old VCR. Haven't missed a single episode since Oct 31, 2008 and it just keeps getting better & better! Thank you, Days for the great stories. Thank you Ali and Galen for making us care so much about Sami and Rafe's story. It's been a heck of a ride and can't wait for the rest of the magic that is to come! Happy Anniversary!

I, too, had taken quite a long hiatus from Days until October 31, 2008...Once I saw Ali and Galen on screen together, I knew they were the new "supercouple" of Days...SAFE's story has taken us from angst toward each other to friendship to true love!! ITA with the poster who said that SAFE is reminiscent of the DAYS of the 70's and 80's when so many supercouples were made..SAFE is the reason I watch Days and I hope they have many more storylines ahead..

ITA.........not since a young Bo & Hope have we had fireworks like Rafe & Sami........I hope TPTB realize how good they are together.......if they are funny or fussing,just keep them together...... they have a chemistry that is unique...I've been watching since day 1, and truly, they are the magnet that keep me viewing every day........JMHO jt

Long time viewer here, but stopped watching for a long time as well. I went from never watching to just sometimes watching in the summer of 2008 when Sami found out she was pregnant, and was so relieved to see that she was going to hide it from the DiMeras. The day that Rafe walked into her life, I thought yes, this is it. This is the guy who can finally be the one for Sami.
Since that day, they haven't disappointed me. Sure, I've been frustrated with them...Rafe's attempts to leave town, Sami's relentless questions about what happened to Emily...but all those distractions have just pointed out to us what has finally become obvious to them. They love each other more than even they ever knew was possible. It's been an amazing year full of love, laughter, tears and downright heartwrenching agony.
Through it all Ali, Galen and the writers responsible for these two have made me sit on the edge of my seat rooting for two people who only exist for the too brief part of an hour a few days a week, but what they pack into that time is absolutely phenomenal. I don't think this story would be anywhere near as compelling with any other actors in these roles because of what each of them brings to their characters. What we're treated to is some fantastic acting, beautiful writing, and rich character development that television as a whole needs more of, stat.
It's like we have a front row seat to magic each time we see them together. I don't know how we can ever thank them enough for that.

I think it is SAFE to say that I am not the only one whose life has been changed in fun ways beginning one year ago today! That may sound silly, but it is true. Now Halloween will always make think of Agent Hot Shot and the Princess, poker will always me think of Christmas cookies, Christmas toys will always make me think of laughing penguins, and picnics by the river will always make me think of unpredictable adventures.

I just wanted to join in this Anniversary thread and say thank you to Ali Sweeney and Galen Gering who have convinced so many of us that Sami and Rafe are worth rooting for.
I have always felt compassion for Sami because I have always believed that all the rotten stuff she’s done in the past was in the quest for one thing – to be the sole focus of someone’s love and attention. And you have both convinced me that Sami has finally found that in Rafe!
I am so glad that Sami’s character has been given a good strong man who loves only her and also loves all of her children. Thank you writers and producers of Days for this great storyline and thank to Galen and Ali for bringing to life ‘a great love story’.
It’s been a great year for Safe and I must confess I was tuning in on the 31st October 2008 with a view to saying goodbye to Phloe and never tuning into Days again! But in the same episode was Sami’s first meeting with Rafe in the safe house. And you two have been so adorable, cute and funny yet had us all weeping into our tissues along with you when Grace passed. Looking forward to some laughter again soon. I am looking forward to another great year of Safe. I know that will mean some drama and angst but as long as there is always lots of love and kisses I’ll stick with Sami and Rafe all through all of it!

I just wanted to join in this Anniversary thread and say thank you to Ali Sweeney and Galen Gering who have convinced so many of us that Sami and Rafe are worth rooting for.
I have always felt compassion for Sami because I have always believed that all the rotten stuff she’s done in the past was in the quest for one thing – to be the sole focus of someone’s love and attention. And you have both convinced me that Sami has finally found that in Rafe!
I am so glad that Sami’s character has been given a good strong man who loves only her and also loves all of her children. Thank you writers and producers of Days for this great storyline and thank to Galen and Ali for bringing to life ‘a great love story’.
It’s been a great year for Safe and I must confess I was tuning in on the 31st October 2008 with a view to saying goodbye to Phloe and never tuning into Days again! But in the same episode was Sami’s first meeting with Rafe in the safe house. And you two have been so adorable, cute and funny yet had us all weeping into our tissues along with you when Grace passed. Looking forward to some laughter again soon. I am looking forward to another great year of Safe. I know that will mean some drama and angst but as long as there is always lots of love and kisses I’ll stick with Sami and Rafe all through all of it!
