There had never been a more influential soap opera moment than Luke and Laura's wedding. There never will be again. You could walk down the hallway and talk to anyone on our daytime staff, and they could tell you where they were when Luke and Laura got married.(Until ejami the next super couple they remain in memory forever)

There is probably no one in the soap opera world that doesn't know the story of Luke and Laura and even though Luke raped Laura, they went on to become THE biggest supercouple of all time. I didn't watch GH, but I sure did know who Luke and Laura was. I really don't want to go on a tirade of rape and who raped who at one time or another, but in the case of Ejami....they bargained sex for the life of Lucas. Both have grown and have forgiven each other because neither one of them was a saint and Sami did the same thing to Austin. Ejami have the chemistry that can also make them one of the biggest supercouples too. Some may disagree, but this is just my own opinion.

Luke and Laura happened in a completely different time, and a lot of the audience still found them nauseating. Not to mention how their relationship ended (he's married to Tracy these days after all) with Laura having breakdown after breakdown. I don't think EJami is a supercouple in the first place, but even if that was the intent modern audiences aren't as easy to sway. A whole lot of Luke & Laura's fans over the years have had no idea of how the pairing started because it wasn't like now where a quick look at Youtube can tell the whole story. With EJ and Sami the backlash has been huge and I notice that there's still no indication that they're going to be remotely close to being paired.

I beg to differ with you, Karnithia, but GH was one of the top rated soaps at the time and remained so because of Luke and Laura. I never said Ejami are a supercouple but they have the potential to be a supercouple and they are a gold mine for tptb. The handful of Safes and Lumis can't predict is Ejami will be a couple or not. This is the way I see it going so this is my opinion. Don't forget the Ejami fanbase is very huge and a lot of fans out there in the GA who don't blog or even come to these websites I know love Ejami.

Here's some dissimilarities...

Sami has never told EJ that she loves him.
Sami married EJ because she was blackmailed in to doing so.
Luke never tried to kill off Laura's family members.
Luke didn't blackmail or terrorize Laura after the rape.
Luke was truly remorseful after the rape.
Luke punished himself for what he did to Laura.

Luke owned up to what he did, and went through a long personal journey (including pushing Laura away) to come to terms with what he did, unlike EJ. EJ has only continued to make Sami's life a living hell.

And very much unlike Days, GH NEVER tried to sweep the rape under the rug, or try to put it in a completely distorted light by having Luke try to explain it by saying "I thought I was making love to you". Nor did fans of Luke and Laura try to pretend the rape was something other than what it was... rape.

The rape is still brought up on GH, in fact Nicolas just reminded Luke of the fact that he raped Laura just two days ago.

The rape is just one part of how disgusting EJ has treated Sami. Luke raped Laura, but it ended there. EJ raped Sami, terrorized Sami, stalked Sami, tried to kill off her family members including the man she really loved, framed her for his own fake murder, put her in the hospital while pregnant, intentionally tried to scare her to death, blackmailed her by threatening to kill her family members into doing things she did not want to do, lied to her and schemed to keep her in a marriage she never wanted to be in and only wanted out of. Most recently he kidnapped her cousin, and sent his goons to beat her brother up. I don't care how big a fanbase supposedly is, it still doesn't make it right to put them together romantically.

There are many more dissimilarities to Luke and Laura, than there are similarities.

Mesagirl, ITA, and I don't know why those that are so excited with EJami, think there are only a "handful" of Safe and Lumi fans. Not all fans post here or anywhere else. No offense to EJami fans, but I just don't think a "handful" describes all the Safe n Lumi fans. Of course this is and will always be a debated subject.

In all the years that have passed since that incident, I have never seen Sami afraid of Ej. They have made peace with themselves. There are so many others that could be picked on besides Ej, but its always Ej. Sami was no saint and did the same thing Ej did, and speaking of kidnapping a cousin ...Sami kidnapped her own sister. Sami lived in a safehouse with Ej and had no fear of him...why should she...made love to him....who would sleep with their rapist? Most of the bad happened when Ej first came to Salem, but as time went by he fell in love with Sami....Right now he could care less about the Bradys. He's not the man from 4 years ago. As far as Owen goes, Ej didn't know he was a nut...he needed Owen to exchange Stephanie for his father. And I can't count how many times I've heard someone say they wish tptb would bring Owen back for Stephanie. The one thing I don't understand about the Safes....How do you know who he is? He's certainly not forthcoming about his past. Today when he busted in on Chloe and yelled "Give me the baby." was uncalled for. He sounded like a nut. Not normal and a real control freak. Why didn't Sami tell him where she went with Ej. Just saying......

I did not bring this topic up, I am only responding to it.

I have seen Sami afraid of EJ on several occasions since he raped her. She was certainly scared of him while he was pretending to be a ghost after framing her for his fake murder. He scared her so badly that her blood pressure rose to dangerous levels and she had to go in to the hospital. She was certainly scared of him when he tried to scare her to death while she was in the hospital. And let's not forget that the whole time Sami was pregnant with her twins. Yeah that EJ, he's someone Sami should be in love with... not.

Hmmm yet, according to EJ he has loved Sami from before the time he raped her. Don't forget he said regarding the rape... "I thought I was making love to you". Which means that he loved her while continuing to treat Sami like crap, he loved her when he forced her to have sex with him, he loved her while he smiled sinisterly when he told her "how does it feel to literally hold Lucas' life between your legs", while planning to off her family members, while putting her in the hospital from the stress he created when he framed her for his fake murder.... he loved her when he smiled gleefully in the hospital and laughed along side Stephano when John was run over, and verbalized how all of that (even though Sami was in incredible pain at the time) just made it easier for him to black mail her into marrying him. If that's love, then I never want to experience it. Would anyone?

It doesn't matter if EJ knew Owen was off his rocker, EJ is still the one that orchestrated kidnapping Stephanie. He's still the one that had Sami's brother beat up. EJ doesn't care about the Brady's now you say. So that should absolve him of the fact that he tried to kill several of them off? I don't think so.

As for what Sami has done to others in the past, no one is denying the evil things she has done in the past. But see, the difference is, Sami grew up. EJ is still acting like a little boy that has been told he can't play with his favorite toy because he treated it poorly. You might also want to reaquaint yourself with a wonderful saying... two wrongs don't make a right.

If you think Rafe sounded by a nut, then EJ should be wrapped in a padded white coat, bouncing off of padded walls in an insane asylum. Actually he should be in a jail cell for the rest of his life. Just saying...
